Registered new on 9th March 1988 by official selling agent, North Notts Motor Company of Newark, this exceptional example has covered just 68,124 miles from new with three owners, two from Peterborough, the home city of KGF Classic Cars! It is clear from the condition of the vehicle that it has led a leisurely and cherished life, the second owners, Mr and Mrs Gilbert were the proud keepers for over 15 years having bought it from the first owner Mr David Dance, who lived just a few miles away! Mr and Mrs Gilbert, now retired, decided a larger coach-built motorhome better suits their needs and the difficult decision was made to let their beloved ‘Frisky’ go. Purchased by KGF Classic Cars and sold to a regular customer who has had his fun with it but decided classic cars are more his thing so we are delighted to have this vehicle back again.

The original book pack contains the service book, handbooks and dealership literature and there are three sets of keys. The history file also contains previous MOT certificates and invoices along with useful camping literature such as The Camper Van Bible by Martin Dorey. Ford Escort RS Cosworth

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A desirable Big Turbo Ford Escort RS Cosworth Luxury with 48,429 miles.

MODEL HISTORY
The Ford Escort RS Cosworth was a sports derivative and rally homologation special of the fifth generation Ford Escort. It was designed to qualify as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship.  It was available as a road car from 1992-96 in limited numbers from Ford’s Specialist Vehicle Engineering, (SVE), team.  It combines the hand-assembled engine expertise of Cosworth and the coach-building crafts of Karmann.  In order to accommodate the larger Cosworth engine and transmission Ford developed the car around the chassis and mechanicals of its predecessor, the Sierra Cosworth.  A very rare car with only 7,145 examples being produced and this one of the desirable early 2,500 built for homologation.  (Source Wikipedia, 1995 Edition One RS Brochure and the RS Owners Club).

EQUIPMENT
Body colour front bumper with black lower splitter, louvred bonnet air intakes, wing air extraction grilles, aerodynamic rear wing with lower boot spoiler, electro-luminescent instrument cluster, oil pressure gauge, turbo gauge, voltmeter, quartz digital clock with ambient temperature, delayed courtesy light, map reading lights, glove box illumination.  Factory Options; Luxury Pack comprising of opening rear quarter windows, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, ‘Quickclear’ heated windscreen, heated washer jets, three-spoke leather covered steering wheel, central double locking, tailgate release, lights on warning, rear centre armrest, rear head restraints, sunroof, electric windows.

EXTERIOR
The striking exterior of this Escort RS Cosworth is nothing short of remarkable.  Finished in iconic Diamond White, (Code B2), the paintwork boasts a brilliant shine and uniform colour match between panels.  Early homologation clues such as the exposed petrol cap and larger door mirrors remain fitted.  All exterior trim is in excellent order including the factory original light units.  The chrome on the rear tailgate badges has worn thin on the corners and rubbers are in good condition.  The black lower splitter is undamaged and the underside is very clean with a coating of Waxoyl.  A rare sporting Ford.

INTERIOR
With a majority of components being built specifically for the RS Cosworth this is a privileged place to be.  The Recaro seats are finished in optional perforated Raven leather and are in very good condition commensurate with the low mileage covered.  The cut-pile carpets have been protected by genuine Ford rubber mats.  The comprehensive and sophisticated instrumentation has beautiful dials with black detail on a white background.  A boost control switch, immobiliser and Collins turbo gauge are fitted.  The Ford FD 2007 radio cassette is the correct unit but the CD unit is an earlier Ford item and a led has been removed. Being one of the first 2,500 cars the pristine boot area still has the water injection kit never plumbed in and unused to comply with homologation. Most were removed by the Ford dealer to avoid customer confusion but fortunately this has remained with the car.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Cosworth YBT Big Turbo engine warrants little introduction and the early Escort Cosworths with the Weber-Marelli engine management, T3/T04B turbocharger and visible blue cam cover are very sought after.  Visual modifications courtesy of Brooklyn Motorsport Spec-R alloy items are fitted along with a K&N cone filter.  Other modifications include uprated fuel pump, cooling system swirl pop and light blue injectors.  The exhaust note through the stainless steel system is glorious.  The standard 227bhp engine enabling a top speed of 140mph and 0-60mph in 5.9secs can be expected.  The permanent Ferguson four wheel drive system with 34/66% front/rear power split mated to a MT 75 5-speed gearbox with a Helix Organic uprated clutch provides precise reassuring changes.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Pristine 8 X 18” Rondell alloy wheels are shod in premium branded tyres with masses of tread remaining.  Ahmed Bayjoo spec springs on standard shock absorbers provide excellent handling characteristics and drilled ventilated front and rear discs with braided hoses offer confident stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Built at the Rheine Assembly Plant in Germany in September 1992 and registered new on the 7th October 1992 by the Ford Motor Co themselves making this model one of the highly sought after and early 2,500 Big Turbo homologation specials.  A further five former keepers have cherished this example, one of which was Mario Caira, a respected Cosworth racing driver who had this car as his own personal vehicle.  The current custodian, Mr Fitzpatrick, has known the car for 18 years and was fortunate to purchase it in 2004 from a friends mother when the car had a four digit personalised registration number.  This car was her pride and joy with the daily car being a Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth!  Mr Fitzpatrick used the car sparingly and has created a personal memoir of his ownership which includes the vehicle being used at Road Shows to educate school children on road safety and photographs of the car when it was in storage in a Carcoon.  A full service and cambelt change has just been carried out by Harvey Gibbs at Supreme Car Services in July 2018 at 48,413 miles.  All book packs are present including the original service book, old MOT certificates and two sets of keys.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 16th November 1973 as a humble Escort 1100L, this car led an unassuming life throughout the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s, and it was into the millennium that the cars transformation was undertaken in the hands of eclectic classic car collector, Robert McMillon. Having searched extensively for a Mk1 RS2000, Robert became disheartened with many non-genuine examples masquerading as genuine AVO cars and the few genuine examples he could find were in such poor order. This led Robert to make the decision to build his own RS2000 recreation, exacting to his own specification and standard. The car as it stands today is a testament to his dedication, skill and knowledge and represents everything that the original Mk1 RS2000 stands for at a fraction of the price! A superb achievement, huge fun and highly usable.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The inline 4-cylinder 2.0 DOHC 16v engine produces 150bhp and propels the car from 0-60mph in 8 secs and on to a top speed of 129mph.  Both the 16-valve DOHC engine and the transverse application of the MTX 75 transmission was specifically developed for the RS2000 helping to utilise the power while offering a slick smooth gear change.  The engine bay is a real testimonial to the safe keep and low mileage and would suit the show circuit.  A recent major service at a Ford Main Dealer in June 2018 has been carried out.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Stunning five spoke cast aluminium wheels measuring 6X15 are polished to a lustre finish and lacquered which are correct and unique to the early Mk5 RS2000.  Matching Bridgestone Potenza 195/50 R15 tyres have ample tread and the spare is an unused factory Uniroyal item.  Teves two-channel anti-lock braking system brings the car to an assured stop.

HISTORY FILE
This pre-facelift Mk5 Ford Escort RS2000 was built in April 1992 and registered by Lex English Ford to a Mr M Tricksey.  He took delivery on the 6th February 1993 and being the consciences type the history file reveals he opted for the Ford Extra Cover Warranty and specified the Dealer to install an immobiliser, (still fitted), prior to collecting the car. He remained the owner until October 1996 when the second owner, Matthew Smith, purchased the car with less than 2,000 miles.  Mr Smith, a Ford fanatic, has remained the only custodian since and used the vehicle sparingly having now covered just 12,462 miles.  MOT history helps track the few miles covered along with four entries in the original service book. The most recent being a major service in June 2018 by Ford Main Dealer, TC Harrison.  The history file is neatly presented with a collection of tax discs up to 2002, MOT certificates and original supplying literature from Lex English Ford.  All handbooks, spare keys and brochures are present.  There are also some period magazines with road tests collected by Mr Smith.  This example represents a true low mileage survivor and one for the discerning modern classic car collector.

Supplying dealer rear screen sticker has been retained, as have the dealer optional genuine window air deflectors with Ford branding. Arguably one of the best unrestored examples in existence.

INTERIOR
The factory standard interior of this truly special example is trimmed in the original Halley and Angora grey velour, (Code L). This trim arrangement being another denotation of the early 2WD production Sapphire Cosworths, with added rarity being available only prior to the introduction of Shadow Halley/Raven velour and optional Raven Leather in February 1989. The supportive Recaro front seats are flawless with firm bolsters and tight coverings, commensurate with the low mileage. The instantly familiar driver inclined dashboard is perfect and completely free from any cracks, and the three spoke leather trimmed sports steering wheel and leather gear knob show natural veins only seen on genuine low mileage examples. Incredibly, the original Ford steering wheel cover fitted upon PDI and usually discarded has been kept! All functions and controls operate flawlessly including the standard Sound 2007 Stereo system with power amplifier. A fantastic RS interior, the ultimate combination of sporting prowess and spacious executive luxury.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the standard 1993cc Dual Over Head Cam (DOHC) engine with the Garrett AiResearch T.03B turbocharger and intercooler, the racing pedigree of this car is truly evident with performance figures quoted of 204bhp, 150mph top speed and 0-60 in just 6.1 seconds. The engine bay will fascinate originality seekers with factory panel stampings on the inner wings, bonnet underside and correct un-lacquered slam panel. Absolutely all stickers and plates remain intact including the yellow brake warning sticker on the offside suspension tower and service stickers on the intercooler, long since lost on most examples. The tough T5 manual transmission with 7.5 limited slip differential is direct and precise, just as you would expect from the low mileage covered.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted and unrestored 15 X 7 RS Sierra Cosworth ‘Lattice Style’ alloy wheels are remarkable with no kerbing damage and only faint scratches to the outer rim edges. The part numbers and raised stampings are prominent and show clear definition, a feature lost upon the usual refurbished items. Quality Dunlop SP Sport 205/50 R15 tyres with excellent tread are fitted all round and the spare wheel is shod in the original unused Dunlop SP Sport D40 fitment. Diagonally split hydraulic brakes featuring anti-lock assistance and Teves four piston front callipers offer excellent stopping power to match the performance.

HISTORY FILE
Built in October 1986, this very early Series 2 was registered new on 9th January 1987, the supplying Ford Main Dealer being E Ward of Wellingborough.  The first and only keeper, Mr David McGann, registered the car to his business name, David McGann Motor Spares and Accessories Ltd, before transferring ownership to his private name upon retirement.  KGF Classic Cars purchased the car direct from Mr McGann, and learnt from him that it was used in the initial years to attend business meetings for the starting up of the association that was later to become A1 Motor Stores.  Thereafter, the car was used solely for leisure use whilst always kept in his heated and dehumidified garage alongside his 1969 Cortina 1600E which he has, and still does, own since 1971!   His dedication and love for this RS Turbo was simply wonderful and truly infectious, even down to the use of wine bottle corks used to lift the wiper arms off the windscreen so as to preserve the rubber blades!  Furthermore, Mr McGann, a qualified Ford Motor Vehicle Engineer, kept a detailed maintenance log since new and throughout, after the first service at E Ward did not meet his expectations, (complaint letter in the history file!),  causing him to handle vehicle upkeep himself from then on.
The original E Ward document holder contains all vehicle handbooks, guides and dealership literature as well as the service book and a workshop manual.  Previous MOT certificates date back to 1991 along with vehicle invoices and even tax discs since 1987.  Completing the history file is the original blue V5 document, RS Turbo sales brochure, supplying dealer tax disc holder and spare key with dealer fob.  KGF Classic Cars are privileged to both have met Mr McGann and present this amazing example to the market, ready for the next dedicated custodian to enjoy.

Ford Fiesta MK3 1.4 Ghia

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A delivery mileage Ford Fiesta Mk3 1.4 Ghia with an incredible 137 miles!

EQUIPMENT
Polycarbonate bumpers with bright insert, grey paint treatment below mouldings, halogen headlights, laminated windscreen, tinted glass, tilt/removable sunroof, locking fuel filler, anti-burst locks, two spoke soft feel steering wheel, tailgate wash/wipe, heated rear window, remote door mirrors, central door locking, remote tailgate release, electric front windows, digital clock, centre console, Ford self-seek model 2006 stereo cassette, tachometer, courtesy light, load compartment light.  Dealer options; Ford tailored rubber mats, mud flaps.

EXTERIOR
With an astonishing and genuine 137 miles from new, this example is most likely to be the lowest mileage in existence!  To suggest that this example is as new is a bold statement, but one which is wholly justified with this perfect Fiesta.  Perhaps most impressive is the underside which has been preserved in a time warp condition, with all orange PDI markings to the suspension components, yellow paint dots to the springs and factory stickers still intact, all features usually destroyed within the first few hundred miles.  In factory original Moondust Silver, (Code 6 2), the paintwork to all factory panels is 100% original and virtually as new aside from a few marks to the bonnet when in storage. The trim sections are perfect and supplying Ford dealer number plates, boot badge and tax disc holder remain fitted.  This example is simply as it left the Perrys Ford showroom in 1992, with absolutely nothing painted, replaced or altered.  Truly a one-off museum piece.

INTERIOR
An interior entirely commensurate with a delivery mileage car!  The cabin space with Astral fabric trim, (Code L7), is simply as it sat in the showroom awaiting collection by the first owner, even down to the Perrys Ford paper mat!  This paper mat is slightly soiled.  Ford Rubber mats, as new themselves, have protected the plush non-woven velour Ghia carpets perfectly and all trim sections, controls and switchgear have the new car feel which is lost soon after regular use.  Unbelievably, even the green circular PDI sticker to the end of the wiper stalk is still intact!  All functions operate flawlessly including the Ford self-seek model 2006 stereo cassette.  Probably most nostalgia evoking of all is the new car smell that has been retained, instantly familiar as a Ford and ready to transport you back to a Ford showroom in 1992!  Totally originally and impossible to better.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1392cc CVH four cylinder engine featuring twin venture carburettor and automatic choke set up produces a lively 75bhp at 5600rpm.  A top speed of 102mph and 0-60 is achieved in 10.6 seconds, easily adequate for modern traffic conditions.  The pristine engine bay has original plates, fragile paper stickers and factory panel stampings clearly visible.  A Ford Motorcraft oil filter and the grey Ford HT Leads remain fitted, and all fluids are clean and clear.  A sticker in the engine bay confirms a cambelt change on 2nd February 2018 with one mile covered since! The engine is whisper quiet and the 5-speed manual gearbox feels brand new!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory steel wheels of size 4½ x 13 are in perfect order with the original Ghia full wheel covers fitted and as new.  The factory fitted Pirelli P2000 165/65 R13 tyres obviously are amazing with no cracks and even the bobbles and coloured banding are still prominent.  The servo-assisted diagonally split brakes with 9½” discs up front and 7”drums at the rear are free and operate correctly.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 29th January 1992 by Ford Main Dealers Perrys of North Finchley, this exceptional example was purchased by a Mr Oliver Addison Esq, with a sales invoice in the history file made out to him illustrating a price paid of £9,700 after a discount of £1300.84.  Sadly, just days after purchasing the car Mr Addison was diagnosed with serious illness and never drove the car again despite taxing the car every year until his passing in 1995.  Having covered just 136 miles the car was given to his daughter, Miss Judith Addison, who does not drive but could not bare to part with it so it subsequently went into her garage where it remained until January 2018.    Thankfully the garage also housed the homes boiler which helped to keep the car warm, dry and preserved perfectly as evident today.  The car has then been sold to a good friend of Miss Addison.  The history file contains the original blue and current V5 documents confirming ownership from Father to Daughter as well and the handbooks and a typed history from Miss Addison.

A highly collectable and desirable Ghia model Fiesta, effectively a brand new car and priced identically to the invoice price in 1992.
