Factory Options; Remote control drivers door mirror, tinted glass.

EXTERIOR
This legendary and genuine Capri 3.0S finished Ford Strato Silver (code V6) has been created in homage to the iconic Capri’s featured in ITV’s much-vaunted Series, ‘The Professionals’. Needing little introduction to the seasoned blue oval enthusiast, the cars themselves were considered more a star of the show than hard man CI5 agent William Bodie and his sidekick Ray Doyle (Martin Shaw). The paintwork boasts a bright uniform finish with only minimal imperfections detectable upon close scrutiny. The bumpers, black louvred grille and trims sections are in perfect order indicating that the urge to drive the car through a carefully placed wall of boxes has been avoided. The bodywork lines are all straight and the panel fit and shut gaps are excellent. This instantly recognisable example is guaranteed to please the avid Ford fan wanting a solid and very presentable genuine 3.0S.

INTERIOR
This iconic models interior is distinguished by seats fully trimmed in the Black Carla fabric (code A1) with Black fabric surrounds. The upholstery is spotlessly clean and free from wear as is the matching deep pile carpeting. The three spoke leather sports steering wheel remains in excellent order, and all controls and gauges in the six pod dash are fully functional. The push button ford radio is operational although the original analogue quartz clock is disconnected. The soft feel dashboard is perfect and free from cracks and the rear package tray is pin straight and free from cut outs. The perforated headlining is clean, tight and free from discolouration. This fantastic 1970’s interior remains exactly true to Ford’s intentions, wonderfully nostalgic!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
With a choice of three engines this model is fitted with the range-topping Essex 3000 V6 with twin choke carburettor. A power output of 138bhp at 5000rpm enables a top speed of 124mph and a 0-60 dash in 8.0 seconds. Contrary to the common manual conversion, the standard automatic choke set up has been retained. Raising the bonnet reveals a very clean and presentable engine compartment. An intoxicating burble through the stainless steel exhaust system is very addictive! The 4-speed manual gearbox with synchromesh to all forward gears operates as it should and the correct sports gearshift knob is the finishing touch.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The wheels have been upgraded to RS design 7 x 13in alloys which are in pristine order. Branded 205/60 R13 tyres are matching all round and have masses of tread remaining. The clean boot area houses the original jack secured with the rubber strap. The hydraulic dual line vacuum servo-assisted braking system was uprated by Ford at the factory for all 3000 V6 models to achieve prompt and steady stopping capabilities.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 20th May 1981, this later 3.0S was at the top of the Capri range before its replacement arrived in the form of the 2.8 Injection model. The 3.0S remains the ultimate desirable Capri and increasingly is the car you always promised yourself due to its rarity. The previous keeper and Ford collector, Mr M Williamson, purchased the car in 2013 with the aim to create his dream car, a Professionals recreation. Watching SAS trooper Bodie being played in heroic style by the late Lewis Collins wheel spinning the Capri wearing the fake registration ‘UOO 303T’ is exactly what is possible with this car!
A large history file contains a huge collection of receipts and invoices from specialist suppliers and restoration firms. Previous MOT certificates and original book packs are also included. Likely to appeal to a Ford aficionado who is keen to enjoy the show scene with this prime example. KGF Classic Cars however, cannot accept responsibility for any implications arising from a probable car chase involving a MkII Granada!

INTERIOR
Based on the instantly recognisable Sierra, this cabin space could to the untrained eye be mistaken for Ford’s ever popular range of family cars. However, subtle suggestions towards the robust commercial vehicle range are in the form of wipe clean vinyl door cards and sparse equipment levels to include a coin box in place of the digital clock and an analogue clock instead of the tachometer. This top spec Standard model featured comforts above the entry level Popular, namely Chequers cloth trim (code 2P), grey velour carpeting and a Ford Keycode 2015 radio cassette. The engine bay is spotless and displays original wing stamps, plates and service stickers. The 5-speed gearbox is light and easy to use and the clutch is positive.

Diagonally split dual-line servo assisted brakes feature a load apportioning valve along with 9.5” ventilated front discs and 10” rear drums to bring the vehicle up safely.

Ford reputedly made a loss of around £4,000 on each car sold, but such was demand when the cars were new that used examples were sold for more than list price! The first owner was a Ford Master Technician at the supplying Dealer and kept the vehicle for six years maintaining it to exacting standards. Subsequently sold to a brand loyal Ford custodian who, along with the first owner, used the vehicle sparingly. Despite the low mileage the vehicle has had seven return visits to the supplying Dealer for service work and all MOT history is again from the supplying Dealer. As piece of mind KGF Classic Cars have instructed performance Ford Specialists, Harvey Gibbs, to carry out a cam-belt and oil and filter change.

All original handbooks, service books and special RS supplement are contained within the Ford leather RS wallet. Two keys with RS fobs are present. This is the ultimate Focus RS in every respect.

INTERIOR
The original Focus RS while an undiluted road going rally car, it certainly is not a stripped out racer with compromised comfort. Inside this white hot Ford is graced with a pair of body-hugging Sparco road-race seats swathed in luxurious Racing Black and Blue Leather and Black Alcantara (code AR). The RS and Sparco logos are embossed and stitched into the upholstery, and this coupled with the aluminium fittings, push button start and numbered plaque, you are left with little doubt this is no ordinary Focus! As you would expect from a car having covered just 7,157 miles, the interior condition is flawless and undeniably showroom fresh. The genuine RS carpet mats have been protected by grey Focus carpet mats. Ford built this car to truly delight its motorsport loving RS devoted fan base, and they hit it just right!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the Ford 2.0 Duratec RS four-cylinder 16v unit needing little introduction, the power output achieved is 212bhp at 5500rpm and 310Nm torque at 3500rpm. The maximum speed is 144mph while 0-60 is dispatched in just 6.4 seconds! The engine bay is factory fresh with the painstaking process of polishing and refurbishment as part of the concours preparation. Another important aspect of the project was to strictly maintain original specification with the only exception being a bespoke exhaust made virtually to factory standard by BCS Automotive, as even Ford can no longer supply the correct system. The Ford MTX-75 gearbox with a heavy duty AP Racing clutch offers the ultimate rally road car experience.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The pristine 8 x 18in Oz Racing rims are brand new with all four being replaced. Shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 225/40 ZR18 tyres which are again brand new. Peer through the large openings between the spokes and you will simply be amazed at the beautifully detailed and spotless Brembo 4-pot calipers and 324mm ventilated discs, which of course are capable of providing immense stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Built on 17th September 2003 and registered new on 29th September 2003, a new car sales invoice from supplying main dealer, Lifestyle Ford of Tunbridge Wells, depicts a purchase price of £21,499.99. Ford reputedly made a loss of around £4,000 on each car sold, but such was demand when the cars were new that used examples were sold for more than list price! First owner Mr S Coppard kept the car for just 5 weeks and covered only 300 miles as his wife found the suspension too harsh. Subsequently a used car purchase invoice from the same supplying Ford Dealer confirms the car was then sold to second keeper Mr M Richey for £24,683.83. He kept the car garaged with only minimal use until the third and final keeper Mr N Cade-Westcombe purchased the car in May 2013. It was he who has since embarked on the incredible process of detailing to an eye watering standard.
The history file is truly incredible and beautifully presented. All original handbooks, service books and special RS supplement are contained within the Ford wallet, and a second Ford leather RS wallet houses further point of sale literature. A colossal collection of invoices, mostly Ford Main Dealer enable the reader to trace and fully appreciate the sheer level of devotion and spend directed towards this incredible project. Two keys with RS fobs and an original sales brochure complete the history file along with even a Ford CD wallet! This is the ultimate Focus RS in every respect.
