EXTERIOR
Such a beautifully cherished and immaculate Volkswagen Polo really is a very rare find indeed. Finished in original and very rare solid Evergreen, (Code LA6C), the factory panels are pin straight and the paint finish is simply incredible with a beautiful uniform shine throughout. Owned from new by a retired lady, garage stored and serviced religiously each year despite only covering 13,462 miles, this example is certainly one of the best in existence. The underside is superb and even the even the wheel arch apertures are spotless. Meticulous close scrutiny reveals little more than touched in chips and very light scratches and a tiny ding to the offside rear wheel arch, barely worthy of mention. Originality seekers will be pleased to see supplying Volkswagen dealer rear number plate and rear screen sticker. In a wonderfully quirky colour, this is an extraordinary example throughout.

INTERIOR
The term ‘time warp’ can often be misused but is absolutely suitable in this instance. The ‘charcoal’ fabric upholstery, (Code EK), is perfect with no visible wear or markings to the seats and matching door cards and the carpets have been protected from new by genuine Polo over mats. Aside from some scratches to the driver’s door pull, the interior plastics, fascia and trim are as new and items such as the steering wheel and gear knob display prominent veins found only on low mileage cars. All equipment and controls operate perfectly including the ice-cold air conditioning and the switchgear has a satisfying quality feel. The immaculate boot area houses an unused space saver spare wheel along with the original jack and wheel brace. The factory build options label remains attached to the boot floor. An interior that is difficult to distinguish from a showroom example 20 years ago!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The original 1390cc four-cylinder petrol engine develops 60bhp and 116Nm of torque to achieve a top speed of 99mph and 0-62mph in 14.5 seconds. Far quieter and effortless acceleration and cruising capabilities are achieved over the smaller engine models and the
5-speed manual transmission feel tight and precise. The engine bay is super clean, as are all fluids, and original features such as factory stickers, plates and panel stamps remain untouched.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The standard E specification 13in steel wheels are shod the original hubcaps which are fully intact with some light scratches visible. Quality Firestone 175/65 R13 are fitted all-round and show ample tread. Anti-lock brakes (ABS) are standard factory fitment and the car pulls up to a steady and straight halt.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 1st September 2000 by Main Dealer, T.Hayselden Ltd of Barnsley, the car was purchased new by Miss J Barlow upon her retirement. The car has covered a fully warranted 13,462 miles from new and each year the car was taken to her trusted local garage for servicing and maintenance work. Despite the low mileage covered each year, annual servicing has been upkept with no less than 17 service invoices along with the original stamped service booklet. Furthermore, there is the complete handbook pack containing all dealership point of sale literature, separate invoice file and two sets of keys with the unused T.Hayselden Ltd dealership key fob.

An astonishing Ford Sierra RS Cosworth with traceable history and 12,993 miles.

MODEL HISTORY
The Sierra RS Cosworth project was defined in the spring of 1983 by the then recently appointed head of Ford Motorsport in Europe. It was established that at the time, Ford was no longer competitive in this area. After receiving full support from Ford Public Relations, the project was underway with the Sierra chosen as the basis for the task ahead. Ford Motorsport in Europe approached the automotive company, Cosworth, who answered positively, but put up two conditions: The street version of the car had to produce no less than 204 HP, and Ford had to accept no less than 15,000 engines. The project would only need about 5,000 engines, but Ford nevertheless accepted the conditions. The extra 10,000 engines would later become one of the reasons Ford also chose to develop a four door, second generation Sierra RS Cosworth. Few cars have ever been greeted with such enthusiasm as the original Sierra RS Cosworth.

EXTERIOR
The iconic styling of the Sierra RS Cosworth is instantly recognisable and a 1980’s legend. Finished in optional Ford Moonstone Blue, (Code K6), the factory paintwork is just perfect and displays the correct orange peel finish throughout. All panels are original with discreet date stampings and seam welds. A tiny rub to the rear bumper, minor chips at the rear of the side skirts are honest signs of minimal use. The glass is correctly dated Securit fitment with delamination to the front original Glacetex screen and all rubbers display fullness with no distortion. The underside to this low mileage car will be a benchmark for those seeking Ford factory correctness with all PDI coloured dabs, Motocraft stickers and alignment paint dashes visible. Ford main dealer Brundall Motor Company number plates remain fitted as supplied by them when the car was eight months old along with a red pinstripe. A truly sensational car commensurate with the incredible 12,993 miles and true to the original Ford SVE Department design.

INTERIOR
The interior of this RS Cosworth is truly outstanding and exactly as Ford intended. Finished in Ford Roma and Cashmere Grey Velour, (Code S2), the Recaro seats, door cards and headlining are spotless, there is no lifting of the material to the door handles or sagging of the headlining. The drivers seat retains the correct shape with only very light creasing to the driver’s seat base. The carpets are plump having been protected by tailored Cosworth velour mats. Remarkable is the fact that the dash has not one hairline crack, a problem suffered by most and the leather steering wheel and gear knob have visible veins. The standard ECU2 electronic sound system with power amplifier is fully operational and the LCD display to warn of bulb failure and open doors operates perfectly. The boot insulation panel designed to raise the boot floor to incorporate the larger spare wheel is present and in perfect condition. A classic and correct Ford RS interior and virtually impossible to fault.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the standard 1993cc Dual Over Head Cam (DOHC) engine with the Garrett AiResearch T3 turbocharger and intercooler, the racing pedigree of this car is truly evident with performance figures quoted of 204bhp, 149mph top speed and 0-60 in just 6.2 seconds. The engine bay will please originality seekers with thankfully no bracket, component, nut or bolt has been zinc plated to create an over-restored finish. Factory panel stampings on the inner wings, bonnet underside and slam panel are all visible. All stickers and plates remain intact and are not reproduction items. The tough T5 manual transmission is direct and precise and perfectly weighted.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The standard Rial 15 X 7J Sierra Cosworth alloy wheels and centre caps are pristine finished in Nimbus Grey with diamond cut facings. The Ford logo to the centre cap is still diamond cut having not been refurbished. Matching Dunlop Sport tyres in the correct size of 205/50 R15 have masses of tread remaining and the spare wheel is wrapped in the original Dunlop SP Sport D40 tyre with tread depth indicator, a feature deleted on the Sapphire Cosworth. Hydraulically boosted anti-lock brakes with 28.3cm ventilated discs up front and 27.3cm discs at the rear bring the car to a sure halt.

HISTORY FILE
Manufactured at the Ford Genk plant in December 1986 and supplied new on the 5th January 1987 by Ford RS Dealer, J.E Coulter Ltd, this example has covered a genuine and warranted 12,993 miles from new in the hands of just three owners. The first, Mr Carl Abbott for eight months before selling to Ford main dealer, Brundall Motor Company in Norwich. The dealer sold the car in November 1987 to Mr Allan Beesley with 6,172 miles. Mr Beesley paid £307.05 for the three year Ford Extra Cover and remained the second custodian for 31 years until June 2018. A serial Ford collector, Mr Beesly used the car sparingly joining amongst other cars a Lotus Cortina he owned from new and a Mk1 Escort Mexico. On the first MOT in January 1990 the car had covered 7,805 miles and had already been serviced by Brundall Motor Company seven times such was his fastidious nature! Realising the historical importance of the car it was treated to a full service by the Stratton Motor Company in May 1990 costing £490.73 and placed in storage with his other collectable cars. Correspondence between the Ford Motor Company in January 1994 on a Safety Recall regarding chafing of the wiring loom against the fuel inlet connector security clip, Mr Beesley writes, ‘the car is still owned by me and is currently laid up with only 8,000 miles’ and that he ‘will be unable to effect the safety recall’. Ford main dealer invoices during the cars storage reveals periodic starting and warming up and in 2005 the decision was made to fully recommission the car for light use whereby amongst other perishable items, the exhaust and original tyres were replaced.

In 2018 a five page Valuation Report by Dunn Shaw Insurance Assessors and Consulting Engineers on instruction of the third owner, Nigel Cope summarises; ‘To find another example this original and low mileage would be difficult if not impossible’ and ‘I would place a valuation of the vehicle of £67,500’. Mr Cope made contact with KGF Classic Cars to seek out the next appreciative custodian.

The Ford blue leather wallet contains all handbooks, guides and dealership literature, and the original stamped service book. All keys are present including a working torch key! It really does not get much better than this.

EXTERIOR
This delightfully nostalgic Vauxhall Cavalier Mk2, a once common sight on UK roads and finished in factory original Carmine Red, (Code 17L), boasts a superb uniform finish. All factory panels are damage free with straight shut lines, and the underside free from excess underseal allows easy structural inspection. The factory etched glass, Bosch headlamps, lights, badges and trim sections are in fantastic order and it is very rare to see Vauxhall bumpers of this era that are free from sun-bleaching such as these. Even the supplying dealer rear screen sticker and number plate remain attached. Hugely sentimental to many individuals who owned examples in the 1980’s, this age defying example is commensurate with its two owner, low mileage credentials.

INTERIOR
A clean, functional and period Vauxhall interior is sure to delight fans of the Griffin badged cars! The original Twill trim in Grey colour scheme is clean and in excellent order with just a couple of loose threads on the otherwise intact driver’s seat bolster. The matching colour scheme door cards and headlining are undamaged and the carpets are clean and in good order. The dashboard is free from cracks and all functions and controls operate perfectly including the original Philips AC 441 radio cassette although the LCD has leaked slightly. Prominent natural veins to the steering wheel and gear knob are an obvious trait of such a low mileage example. The immaculate boot floor has the original polystyrene moulding holding the jack, wheel brace and screwdriver. A very comfortable Vauxhall interior reminiscent of a simpler motoring era.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This Cavalier L features the 1600S OHC four-cylinder engine with Varajet II carburettor and manual choke developing 90bhp at 5800rpm and 126Nm of torque at 3800rpm. This unmolested example having covered just 29,992 miles drives perfectly and the quiet yet lively engine is a delight with a respectable top speed of 105mph. The engine bay is beautifully clean, unaltered and displays factory plates and stickers as well as factory panels stamps to the inner wings. The four speed all synchromesh gearbox feels light and precise.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Five factory original 5J wheels remain fitted with the near irreplaceable correct L specification hubcaps. Brand new premium Uniroyal RainExpert3 tyres have been fitted all round in August 2020 and the spare tyre is the factory Pirelli P4 item which is unused still with coloured banding and chalk marks! Diagonally split dual circuit brakes with servo assistance feature 9.3in front discs and 7.9in rear drums to bring the car to a steady and assured halt.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new by Vauxhall Main Dealers, Lookers of Colwyn Bay Ltd in North Wales, on the 1st January 1985, this remarkable example has covered just 29,992 miles with two owners. First keeper, Mr William Smith, owned it for just 13 months before he traded it back into the supplying dealer, Lookers. The second and only other keeper, Mr Marck Price, bought the car as an Approved Used Vauxhall and there is the order form and used vehicle invoice in the history file. Mr Price paid £5,195 less a part exchange allowance of £2,500 for his near identical 1983 Carmine Red Cavalier L Saloon! He clearly liked Carmine Red but perhaps simply wanted the newer style facelifted 1985 model!

An envelope containing all handbooks, guides and the service book suggests that the car was named ‘Bessie’! There is a further history folder containing every MOT certificate and evidence that the car was maintained exclusively by Vauxhall main dealers until being laid up in 2012 due to Mr Price hanging up his driving gloves. The last Vauxhall service was in 2012 at 29,941 miles. KGF Classic Cars have subsequently in September 2020 recommissioned the car including replacing the cam belt and water pump so it is ready for a new adventure to offer capable, practical and comfortable retro motoring. The Rapide was Aston Martin’s first four-door production sports car designed to look breathtakingly beautiful from every angle. The elegant bodywork is swathed in gorgeous and ultra-rare, Almond Green, (Code AST1339D). A letter from Steve Waddinham, Senior Product Specialist at Aston Martin Lagonda, confirms in writing this example is one of four Rapides made in Almond Green. A low roofline and glass-to-glass connection between the front and rear doors, with no exterior B-pillars helps give the car an uninterrupted, two-door coupe-like profile. Garaged and pampered, only a few stone chips are visible, barely worthy of a mention. Attention to detail is evident throughout from the classic Aston Martin grille to the finer extruded aluminium winged Aston Martin bonnet badge rendered in pewter and enamel, all in excellent condition. From the obvious Rapide’s voluptuous flanks to the discreet aluminium made bonnet, roof and door skins, this really is the ultimate sporting family car and above all, pure Aston Martin.

INTERIOR
Opening any of the four doors using Aston Martin’s trademark ‘swan wing’ mechanism, reveals an exquisitely finished interior. The Parliament Green/Moon Shadow Leather is pristine and the seats alone are trimmed using 10 hides of the finest leather by dedicated craftsmen. Luxury and opulence will surround each of the four occupants thanks to the one piece ‘cabin’ that incorporates the entire volume of the car. Dark zirconium dials on a black surround and Organic Electroluminescent (OEL) displays face the driver while those in the rear are treated to the optional Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) consisting of two 6.5-inch LCD screens. Traditional rotary controls are fashioned from turned, solid aluminium and modern touches such as twin acoustic lens Bang & Olufsen speakers rise silently from the dashboard. A tripling of the available load space is possible thanks to each individual rear seats being able to each be folded flat at the touch of a button. The embroidered Rapide logo on the seat headrest and owners personalised sill plates show the willingness to specify every single option. This really is the Savile Row of sports cars!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Rapide is powered by Aston Martin’s iconic, 6.0-litre V12 engine. The all-alloy, quad overhead camshaft, 48-valve engine produces 470bhp with massive reserves of power and torque. 0-62mph is despatched in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 184mph is quoted. The throaty, evocative sound of the V12 engine through the exhaust is sublime especially is ‘Sport’ mode when the bypass valve has been activated. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a rear mid-mounted Touchtronic 2 automatic gearbox, a six-speed unit that is precisely calibrated with the engine to provide broad flexibility in ‘Drive’ mode, as well as having a highly responsive character in ‘Sport’ Touchtronic mode, when shifts can be activated using the cast aluminium, leather-covered paddles sited behind the steering wheel. ‘Sport’ Touchtronic mode sharpens and shortens gearshifts for a more dynamic driving experience.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Optional 20-inch unmarked wheels in Graphite finish are made from forged aluminium and shod in Aston Martin recommended Bridgestone Potenza tyres measuring 245/40 ZR20 upfront and 295/35 ZR20 at the rear with ample tread. The Rapide was the first Aston Martin to feature dual-cast floating brake discs, which combine cast aluminium with cast iron to maintain high levels of heat resistance so combined with six-piston calipers at the front and four to the rear, stopping power is immense. The crystal clear Aston Martin inscription on the calipers a reminder of the power.

HISTORY FILE
Remarkable. Confirmed in writing by Aston Martin Lagonda as one of just four made in Almond Green, of which two are RHD, exclusivity is assured! Maintained solely by Aston Martin a total of ten stamps are evidenced in the leather-bound manual. The 10th annual service was carried out by Aston Martin Nottingham in January 2020 at 31,852 miles. Inspired by the now Late Colin McRae’s victorious Ford Focus RS World Rally Car, the Ford Focus RS was created as a no frills, no compromise road going rally car, a car true to its motorsport roots. Designed in conjunction with Ford Racing Engineers and M-Sport in Cumbria, the RS badge synonymous with the most desirable, high performance Ford vehicles was first introduced to the already accomplished Focus. All factory panels are pin straight and the bumpers, side skirts and trims sections are immaculate. Very light stone chips to the front and windscreen are visible upon close inspection. All factory fit and Ford etched glass remains fitted and a very light tint to the windows has been carefully removed without trace upon arrival at KGF Classic Cars. Ford dealer number plates remains fitted and originality seekers will be pleased to see factory stickers in the door apertures. The underside is commensurate with the mileage covered and still displays protective wax on components such as the rear beam. This outstanding and unmolested example is ready for enjoyment and continued preservation, just as Ford intended it to be.

INTERIOR
Inside this white-hot Ford are a pair of body-hugging Sparco road-race seats swathed in luxurious Racing Black and Blue Leather and Black Alcantara, (Code AR). The RS and Sparco logos are embossed and stitched into the upholstery, and this coupled with the aluminium fittings, push button start and numbered plaque, leave you with little doubt this is no ordinary Focus! The interior is beautifully preserved and the seats are free from damage, have firm bolsters all-round and only a tiny area of bobbling to the Alcantara driver’s seat bolster. The steering wheel blue leather, a known weak point, is still bright retaining its colour. The RS front carpet mats remain fitted. Ford built this car to truly delight its motorsport loving RS devoted fan base and the long-awaited car did not disappoint.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the thumping Ford 2.0 Duratec RS four-cylinder 16v unit the power output achieved is 212bhp at 5500rpm and 310Nm torque at 3500rpm. The maximum speed is 144mph while 0-60 is dispatched in just 6.4 seconds! The engine bay is clean with factory plates, stickers, labels and wing stamps visible. Correct for an early car is the black throttle cable ‘trumpet’ grommet with blue collar. The sturdy Ford MTX-75 gearbox with a standard heavy-duty AP Racing clutch, as fitted by Ford from new, offers the ultimate rally road car experience.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The unique 8 x 18in Oz Racing rims are unmarked with perfect RS centre caps. Fitted new all-round in 2019 and virtually unused are correct specification Michelin Pilot Sport 225/40 ZR18 tyres and in lew of the spare wheel is the factory supplied compressor and unopened tyre sealant. Pristine Brembo 4-pot callipers are visible through the large spoke apertures and 324mm ventilated front and 280mm rear discs provide immense stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Factory build records confirm that number 716 rolled of the production line on the 6th December 2002 ready to be dispatched the supplying Ford Main Dealer, Verwood Ford in Dorset. Date of first registration was the 3rd January 2003. All original handbooks, guides and special RS supplement are contained within the Ford leather RS wallet along with the service book containing nine stamped entries. At 27,918 miles a documented full service was carried out as well as a cambelt, idler and pulleys at Ford main dealer Glenford in Forfar with supporting invoice for £928.09. A further large folder contains all supporting Ford main dealer services invoices, previous MOT certificates and maintenance receipts. Two keys are present along with both RS alarm fobs although the little rubber fob loops have broken, a common issue. Completing the superb history file is all the Focus RS launch brochures and sales literature packs, highly coveted items in themselves!

Finished in the correct and early colour of Maize Yellow, (Code T), a rare launch colour available for only 11 months, this genuine AVO Mexico is stunning. Metal Bubble Arch wheel extentions, as available through the Special Build Programme, combined with black broad Mexico stripes gives the car a purposeful stance. The underside is spotlessly clean in body colour for those enjoying the show scene and hundreds of photos of the meticulous restoration will leave no doubt to the perfect credentials and AVO workmanship. Early car features such as the starting handle hole have been supplemented with additional cooling holes for both improved engine performace and asthetic pleasure. Detailed items such as the 1600GT badges, genuine FoMoCo rear lenses and twin-wire Trico Speedblade wipers are all in excellent condition. The original front grille and glass has some markings and the headlights are upgraded items. A very desirable Ford Rally Sport hero.

INTERIOR
Curvaceous Contour bucket seats are a sought-after competitions department extra and the headrests an additional option, all in perfect condtion. The cockpit is very clean with innate driver appeal thanks to a professionally installed FIA Safety Devices roll cage, Moto-Lita leather sports steering wheel, fire extinguisher and isolator switches. The 140mph speedometer, 8,000rpm rev counter, gauges and heater fan on both speed settings all function, although the rev guage is inaacurate. The headlining and door cards are in excellent condition and the padded dash has a tiny nick on the passenger corner and driver top. The raised Ford badge on the passenger door sill is still fitted and the boot area is spotlessly clean with the battery in the boot and stone deflector fittings as per early AVO Mexico examples. This package is hard to beat.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Nestled between the AVO Escorts inner front wings is the jewl, a Kent XFlow Harris Performane Engine. With world renowned engine building performance since the 1930’s, the experience of the legendary Jeff Harris is respected throughout the Ford community. This Blueprint and built 1700cc engine runs 158.1bhp on a BD- Engineering Dyno. In brief it has a fully ported and polished head, matched inlet and exhaust ports, a 244 Cam with adjustable Vernier pulley, roller rocker fingers on valve train and fully lightened and balanced pistons, rods and fly wheel. The sound through the Twin weber 45’s and 105 speed full stainless MASS exhaust system is intoxicating! A fabulously clean engine bay with original VIN plate and Special Build body plate will please exhibitionists. A fully rebuilt 4-speed gearbox with SKF bearings along with fully rebuilt balanced propshaft and Fostek baby atlas axle allows for rapid progress.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Period correct Minilite alloy wheels have a few tiny marks and wear sticky 205/60 R13 Toyo Proxes with ample tread. A braking system compromising of a Girling Powerstop remote brake servo is fitted at the nearside front of the engine bay resulting in the battery being located in the boot as per factory built early cars. AP Racing 4-pot calipers on front grip tightly.

HISTORY FILE
Built at Fords Advanced Vehicle Operations factory in Aveley in June 1971 this vehicle was first registered on the 3rd September 1971 and is well known to the AVO Club with its latest longterm custonion Mr John Savage, being an active member. Mr Savage sourced the car in 2010 through the AVO Club and an official valuation by the Club Valuer / Model Register is included in the history file at this time. Mr Savage then began a childhood dream of building his ultimate Mk1 Mexico with Bubble Arches and a period correct Harris Performance Engine. Being the Director of MKE Engineering, the largest independent engineering organisation of its kind in the South East, his expertise and contacts helped make this dream a reality, albeit at great expense! Witness to the programme of works are hundreds of digital photos leaving no doubt to the quality of workmanship. A history file reveals this cars journey and neatly presented photos in an album tell a wonderful story along with a five page magazine feature in Classic Ford dated June 2005. A collection of invoices, MOT certificates, magazines, workshop manuals, Escort handbook and old literature makes fascinating reading along with copies of HAVOC, the AVO Owners Club quarterly magazine for members. INTERIOR
Alluring hand-crafted sports seats finished in Black Full Leather, (Code AH), are in remarkable condition with firm seat structure and supple leather. Tailored Porsche velour mats have protected the carpets from new and all door cards, headlining and trim is outstanding. Door apertures display factory stickers in addition to the the VIL (Vehicle Identification Label) to the bonnet underside. The luggage area is pristine and houses the unused space saver spare wheel and tyre as well as the factory Porsche compressor and jack. The tightly grouped overlapping layout of the five gauges with the tachometer in the centre are an unmistakable testament to the 911’s racing heritage and everything functions correctly with precision including the ice cold air conditioning. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This 911 Turbo power plant is an evolution of the water-cooled flat six in the Porsche 911 GT1. Boosted by twin turbochargers, the 3.6 litre engine develops a phenomenal 420bhp, enough to propel the car from 0-62mph in 4.2 secs and on to a top speed of 190mph. A sparkling clean engine compartment and professional regular maintenance leaves no doubt of the care bestowed on this example. Registered new on the 26th July 2002 by Carrs Official Porsche Centre of Exeter, this cherished example has only had two former keepers. The first owner, Mr Glendinning owned the car for four years before part exchanging it for a brand new Bentley. Bentley West Country then sold the vehicle as an Approved Used Porsche with 30,692 miles for £45,700. The two subsequent owners, Mr Webb and Mr Ken Brown have used the vehicle for weekend recreational use only. Mr Brown, the current owner for five years, is a true motoring enthusiast and ex-racing driver. His stable includes a concours Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 with 21,000 miles which he has owned from new! EXTERIOR
Only very rarely is such an incredibly special vehicle seen, one that has defied the years to truly deserve the term ‘Time warp’. This very early Mk1 Vauxhall Astra finished in Mandarin Red, (Code 533), boasts a virtually flawless factory finish commensurate with the ultra-low genuine mileage and even more remarkable is the fact that the car is unrestored. The gleaming paintwork would put most one-year old vehicles to shame and the trim sections are perfect. Unique features of this very early 1980 example include the tailgate Vauxhall lettering centralised, absence of rear wash wipe and rear number plate shroud, lower boot lock position and bumper mounted rear number plate lamp. Earlier cars, even the base L model, had bright finish exterior door handles that were later changed to satin black. Originality seekers will be further thrilled to see supplying dealer number plates still fitted as well as the super clean and untouched underside displaying factory markings. It is difficult to imagine this not being the best example in existence.

INTERIOR
As new! Rarely does the opportunity arise to describe a classic car interior as perfect, however in this instance we feel it is entirely justified. The Red Tweed Cloth upholstery, (Code 245), is representative of a 10,448 mile garaged example with no wear or fading whatsoever. The door cards, trim sections, carpets and headlining are pristine and the dashboard is flawless. The controls and switchgear boast bright symbols which have avoided fading and discolouration and the steering wheel and gear knob have defined natural veins which are usually worn smooth with increased use. All equipment operates perfectly including the Phillips push button mono stereo cassette and even the nostalgia evoking period Vauxhall scent hasn’t escaped into the 1980’s atmosphere! It is beyond words how amazing this interior is.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This 1300S incorporates the 1297cc OHC unit produces 75bhp at 5800rpm and 100Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. The car performs and drives beautifully and the instantly familiar free revving engine note is delightful. The engine bay is spotless and displaying factory plates, labels, PDI chalk markings and original panel stampings. The four-speed all-synchromesh manual gearbox is sturdy and direct. Simply wonderful.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Any collector will be delighted to see the standard 13in steel rims correctly 1980 date stamped and shod in the factory Michelin 155/80 R13 tyres. Those wanting to use the car are also catered for with a second set of pristine wheels shod in brand new premium brand Firestone tyres. The spare wheel is housed alongside a complete tool and jack assembly within the moulded foam holder. Diagonally split dual circuit brakes with servo assistance feature 9.3in front discs and 7.9in rear drums to bring the car to a steady and assured halt.

HISTORY FILE
Following UK launch of the all new German built Vauxhall Astra in March 1980, this very early example was registered new on the 4th June 1980 by Vauxhall Main Dealer, Moores & Newton of Wilmslow. The first registered keeper was sportswear and football equipment supplier, Umbro Ltd, whereby it was purchased by the Managing Director for his wife. After three years the car was registered to her personally and remained so until her passing in 2000 to be bequeathed to a family friend. The car has been in the hands of just two further collectors. The car was shown just twice by the previous owner, including at a large Ford show where it caused quite a stir by winning Car of the Show, considered sacrilege for a Vauxhall to do so at a Ford event!

The fantastic history file consists of the original book pack with all handbooks, guides, service booklet and dealership point of sale literature. There are two original sets of keys both with supplying dealer fobs and keys tags and even a ‘You’ll love driving our cars’ Astra badge! A further beautifully presented folder contains masses of invoices and receipts as well as every MOT certificate dating back to very first in 1983 to fully verify the mileage.
