Two models launched to celebrate Jaguars ‘60 Years of Sporting Prowess’ and the end of XJS production prior to the launch of the XK8 model, the Jaguar XJS 4.0 2+2 Coupe and Convertible have always been highly collectable Final Edition examples. The final six-cylinder cars were designated the ‘Celebration’ model with the V12 believed to be on special order only, and there were only 5,490 Celebration cars produced according to the book, ‘You and Your Jaguar XJS’, by renowned Automotive Writer Nigel Thorley.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The revised 4.0 litre AJ16 engine with twin overhead camshafts and a lightweight alloy cylinder head housing four valves per cylinder offers 238bhp and 382Nm of torque. Power and refinement is guaranteed with 0-60mph despatched in 8.0 seconds and a top speed of 145mph. HISTORY FILE
Supplied new on the 15th May 1995 by Jaguar Main Dealers, H.A.Fox of Southampton, this unrepeatable example has covered a genuine 12,218 miles from new with just two owners, the second of whom since 1999. A new vehicle sales invoice for £41,591.41 is made out to first owner, Mr R Fraser, who owned the car until 1999 when the car was traded back into the supplying dealer. The second owner, Mr R Barber, purchased the car from H.A.Fox in November 1999 at which time the car had not even reached 8,000 miles. There are even photos kept of the car in the showroom taken as a memento! The history file is every bit as spectacular as the car with 16 Jaguar stamped entries in the service book from the supplying dealer, H.A.Fox. Two Jaguar document wallets hold the service book and all handbooks and point of sale literature. Mr Barber has owned the car for nearly 25 years and the condition and ongoing preservation is a credit to his ownership. A huge and beautifully presented leather-bound folder with pewter plaque bespoke to the car is simply amazing and holds a detailed maintenance log, all corresponding Jaguar main dealer service invoices and every MOT certificate dating back to the first in 1998. In September 2024 the car was taken to a Jaguar Specialist for a major service including gearbox oil, fuel filter and brake fluid as well as a brake overhaul. One for the discerning enthusiast and collector, this stunning example is without question one of the finest examples in existence with a history file to match.

This exceptional example was registered new on the 1st September 2012 by Hatfields Jaguar in Sheffield. The first owner kept the car for less than two years whereby it was then sold again through the Jaguar Main Dealer network by Guy Salmon Jaguar Thames Ditton with supporting order form and sales invoice. The second owner, Mr Hopkinson, purchased the Jaguar to serve as his weekend pride and joy and even took out the Jaguar Extended Warranty. A sumptuous and luxurious interior is thoroughly commensurate with the low mileage this performance saloon has covered. The beautiful upholstery is trimmed in premium Oatmeal Leather Hide and Warm Charcoal, (Code AGD), and is virtually unmarked. Distinguishing features are the XJR’s wood and leather steering wheel with wooden gearknob and wooden veneers in Birdseye Maple, all perfect. The driver has no shortage of equipment and safety features all of which work perfectly, including the climate control. The headlining is perfect with no sagging and the deep pile carpeting is clean and retains its fullness due to carpet mats fitted from new. There is a small mark to the ‘J’ gate decal. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The source of the XJR’s dynamic versatility is the 4.0 litre AJ-V8 32-valve quad overhead cam engine powered by an intercooled supercharger boosting output to 370bhp. This is a 27% increase over the conventionally aspirated engine and enough to reach 60mph in 5.3 awe-inspiring seconds and a limited top speed of 155mph. The engine bay is spotlessly clean with all factory plates and stickers present. The optional tool storage compartment is complete and still includes bulbs and fuses. A dedicated electronic five-speed automatic transmission, uprated for strength is refined and responsive. The perfect combination.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
At the time the XJR had the largest wheels and lowest profile tyres ever seen on a production Jaguar saloon and all four Penta alloy wheels are immaculate with crystal clear growler badges. Premium Michelin Pilot tyres with ample grip are fitted. Powerful large ventilated discs front and rear have anti-lock braking and combined with stability control and traction control offer safe braking, stability and handling. The XJR is also fitted with Supersport suspension combined with CATS – electronically controlled electric dampers with are unyieldingly firm under stress yet smooth and comfortable under normal driving conditions.

HISTORY FILE
This tremendous Jaguar XJR was supplied new on the 18th March 1998 by Paramount Jaguar Swansea to Mr Gardener. The new car invoice reveals a whopping price paid of £55,016 with a part exchange allowance of £7,500 for the new owners BMW 635CSi Highline! Owned by Mr Gardener for next 15 years, the car has enjoyed expert main dealer servicing up to 2011 and 31,193 miles with Jaguar Specialists since. A total of 14 service entries are documented, the last being in July 2021 at 41,654. An A4 file of neatly filed invoices catalogues expenditure and helps reveal the care bestowed on this low mileage car. Recent works include replacement of coil springs, new braking components and auxiliary belts and supercharger belts. The silky-smooth 2.1 V6 24 valve Quad Cam engine produces 157bhp at 6800rpm and 200Nm peak torque at 4100rpm enabling a top speed of 130mph and 0-60mph in 9.4 seconds. HISTORY FILE
This very early XK150 XK 4.2L V8 Coupe has covered a warranted 22,720 miles from new and was registered on the 22nd May 2006 by Guy Salmon Jaguar of Coventry to Mrs Brenda Pugh, who remained the sole custodian until June 2020. Her son Richard Pugh was part of the Jaguar/Land Rover Development Team and helped secure an early build slot at a whopping cost of £63,560 proved by the New Car Sales Invoice. What will amaze and absolutely reassure is the level of care, attention and expense lavished on this garage queen with annual supplying Jaguar main dealer servicing up to May 2019 and 21,861 miles. A total of 15 stamps with corresponding invoices are documented in the service book, the last being a Jaguar specialist in September 2020 at 22,570 miles. Reading the neatly filed binder shows requests to check extra items by the fastidious owner and when an intermittent interior display fault occurred the order to replace and not repair was given at £1,645! Recently purchased by the second and only other owner, Mr Lally in lieu of a new Jaguar F-Type, the desire for the new model was fuelled and the difficult decision to sell was taken. Built as the final special edition model of the X100 Jaguar XK, the XK8/R 4.2-S were the last XK’s to be rolled out based on the original 1996 design. This XK8 version has covered an incredible 16,245 miles from new in the hands of knowledgeable and fanatical ownership.

Registered new on the 23rd July 2005 by H.A.Fox Jaguar of Nottingham to first owner, Mr B Moore. At just ten months old the car was sold, once again by H.A.Fox Jaguar, as an Approved Used car to the second owner and Jaguar Enthusiasts Club member, Mr Steven Malpass, with supporting used vehicle invoice in the history file for £38,710. The car was owned by Mr Malpass for 12 years until Mr Lindsay Porter purchased the car. A renowned and highly respected Motoring Journalist and Motoring Author, Mr Porter has written many books and vehicle workshop and restoration manuals, including the world-famous Haynes Manuals. In January 2020 the car was sold by KGF Classic Cars to Jaguar Enthusiasts Club members, Mr and Mrs Shillitoe, who have only decided to sell as they have now realised a lifetime dream of purchasing a 1960’s Ford Mustang. During their ownership a further quality car cover has been purchased and there are now three to go with the car. Mrs Shillitoe has even made a tailored driver’s seat cover!

INTERIOR
