Mr Simms was an avid MX-5 enthusiast who recognised the importance of this very special car and knew that preserving such a low mileage example was going to result in a true modern classic in years to come, and of course he was absolutely correct! The car was then placed in a substantial collection by KGF Classic Cars and is only being made available due to an expanding Fast Ford fleet and limited space! It has not had its first MOT but of course KGF Classic Cars will undertake this should the next owner wish.

This outstanding Z3 was purchased in order to attend shows as was the culmination of a lengthy search for the right car, Mr Brown stating in his own words that he saw many substandard examples, albeit his standards are very high. The car was comfortably stored alongside their other BMW’s which include a M5, a 2,000-mile 6 Series and two daily 1 Series’. The labour of love bestowed upon this Z3 has seen the car detailed to a very high standard throughout and subtle upgrades include Angel-Eye headlamps and a fully upgraded front suspension set up to sharpen up the handling whilst losing none of the Z3 magic.

Perfect preservation of this true icon of Italian style and design.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The air-cooled 123.4cc single cylinder 2-stroke engine develops 12bhp and features CDI electronic ignition and Weber SI 20/20 D carburettor, enough to propel this scooter to 50mph (depending on the rider’s weight!). Everything down to the engine stamping, exhaust, 4-speed grip-shift transmission and even paper PDI labels and dabs are factory fresh and as new. The bike has been a display piece since new and has never even seen fuel, however the knowledgeable custodians have routinely turned the engine on the kick start to ensure free movement.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original chromium plated wheel rims in perfect unrestored condition with vintage whitewall tyres were part of the Meeting Kit supplied with the P 125 X 30 Anni’ Ultima Serie. The Golden Tyre 3.50-10 including the spare are unused with tyre nobbles still intact. A single 7.9in front disc and 5.9in expanding rear drum form the factory standard braking system for this edition and components still display the yellow PDI dabs.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by AR Motorcycles of Lowestoft on the 1st March 2008, this Piaggio Vespa (PX) P 125 X 30 Anni’ Ultima Serie is number 411/1000 of the last series Vespa PX models produced worldwide and indeed one of only 150 units supplied to the UK. The first owner purchased three identical examples and kept them within his collection before his friend convinced him to let go of one so he could have it himself, where it sat in a small yet eclectic collection alongside a Triumph Stag, Porsche 911 and Vauxhall Cavalier!

The history file consists of the original handbook, service and guarantee book, dealership point of sale literature and of course the vital certificate of guarantee. Furthermore, the shipment docket and checklist have been kept along with a Memo from Piaggio Marketing Manager, Julia Lo Presti, issuing clear instructions to dealers regarding how the certificate of guarantee should be issued to the first owners. Completing the history file is a Vespa accessories brochure, the UK V5 registration document, the tool kit still in bubble wrap and both sets of keys, the spare of which is still in the plastic sheath.

The bike has covered a genuine 0.3 miles from new, a distance only accrued from being pushed around, and is being sold as a display piece. Should the next owner wish, KGF Classic Cars will undertake professional commissioning, PDI and first MOT of the bike. An unmissable opportunity to acquire a slice of classic scooter history.

The most recent service was carried out in September 2020 at 7,650 miles and the cambelt was changed in September 2019 at 7,510 miles. Accompanying the stamped service books is a huge folder containing every element of documentation from the original blue V5 and Honda PDI certificate to every supporting Honda dealer service invoice and checklist as well as previous MOT certificates. Such was Mrs Langworth’s dedication to the upkeep of her Civic, she was even still taking out Honda three-year service plans up to 2015! Completing the history file is a 1991 Civic range sales brochure along with two original Honda keys both with Sheaf Motors of Sheffield fobs.

It is difficult to imagine the existence of a more original, preserved and cosseted classic Honda Civic with such unrepeatable credentials, let alone find one available for sale. Be quick and grab a slice of modern classic Honda history.

Mr Posnett has kept up annual servicing despite covering low mileage each year with invoices to verify, the most recent being carried out at less than 100 miles ago. The car has been owned ever since by Mr Posnett who in 2010 allowed his Daughter to use the car and decided to register it in her name just in case she gained any speeding tickets!
