Now transformed by KGF Classic Cars to a show standard by meticulous exterior detailing to include all wheel arch apertures and the underside. A tiny mark to the boot lid is the only imperfection to a car that now gleams proudly and entirely commensurate of the miniscule 2,362 miles covered. Original supplying dealer Colborne Garages branding is evident by stickers to the front and rear screens, number plates and tax disc holder. Genuine VW headlamp protectors are still fitted now polished and crystal clear. Probably the best.

INTERIOR
Just a humble Bora but from an era when VW craftmanship and quality was at its best. Stunning SE specification Motion velour upholstery, (Code CM), is unmarked and all carpeting is protected by two sets of genuine VW mats and additional carpet cutouts tailored by the elderly first owner to include the boot area. The blue illuminated instrument displays are clearly visible and fully functional and quality chrome release door handles look stunning with matching material to the door cards shrunk slightly. Period belongings such as a 10 unit British Telecom phonecard, RAC key and coins within a tobacco tin along with a Safeway carrier bay with various cleaning cloths and paraphernalia, have been left in the car as a memento.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The sturdy 1.6 litre petrol engine with four valves per cylinder delivers 105bhp, enough to propel the car to 119mph and 0-60mph in 11.3secs. Fully recommissioned by main dealer Group 1 Volkswagen in February 2025 after 11 years of storage for an eyewatering sum to include the cambelt and water pump. Now fully detailed to a show standard to allow bonnet up exhibiting. The 5-speed gearbox is precise with a light clutch action.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Stunning 16 inch Le Castellet alloy wheels are shod in newly fitted Falken 205/55 R16 tyres. There is a tiny mark to the O/S/F wheel barely noticeable. This Bora benefits from ABS with disc brakes both front and rear, ventilated to the front and all renewed along with the calipers by the VW main dealer.

HISTORY FILE
A fascinating tale. Discovered by Jonny Smith aka CarPervert and as seen here on his YouTube Channel, The Late Brake Show [Click Here], in a garage with just 2,272 miles in February 2025. At this point the time warp car was owned solely by an elderly gentleman who purchased the car on the 10th June 2002 from Colborne Garages in Woking. Returning to them seven times for service work and up to May 2009 at 2,148 miles when he retired from driving. For sale through probate, Jonny Smith had to purchase the car to make the film and the money he paid for it has donated towards the Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care Centre. To then celebrate 220,000 views, nearly 700k subs and 400 videos since the channel began 5 years ago, Jonny decided to give back to his loyal @thelatebrakeshow viewers and let someone deserving win an almost delivery mileage modern VW classic. With assistance from Volkswagen UK and Group One Volkswagen in Peterborough, the car was fully recommissioned and made road worthy again before being given away. The winner subsequently part exchanged the car with a trader for another vehicle and KGF Classic Cars were contacted directly by the trader with an opportunity to buy it. Thrilled to have agreed a purchase and now elevated and prepared to a show standard ready for an appreciative enthusiast.

Supplied with all handbooks, stamped service book, a letter from The Late Brake Show, and a VW printout with all service visits. On a successful sale KGF Classic Cars will also make a donation to the same Hospice as made by Jonny Smith and The Late Brake Show.

Volkswagen Golf GTI 25th Anniversary Edition

FOR SALE
A championship winning Volkswagen Golf GTI 25th Anniversary Edition with one owner No 0301

MODEL HISTORY
The iconic Volkswagen Golf GTI was first launched in 1977 and instantly became not only a phenomenal success but an automotive legend. 25 years later and in its fourth generation, the demand for the Golf GTI was as strong as ever and to celebrate the quarter century milestone, Volkswagen launched this, The Golf GTI 25th Anniversary Edition. Initial speculation was that 1,800 units would be produced, 900 each in both petrol and diesel, however Volkswagen archive records confirm that in fact 1,792 were made, 825 of which were petrol and 967 diesel, (Source of information, Volkswagen (UK) Single Point of Contact Team). With inevitable dwindling numbers as we approach the 50th Anniversary since the original Golf GTI launch, these Anniversary Editions are even more sought after than in the 2002 launch.

EQUIPMENT
Front fog lamps, tinted glass, roof spoiler, ISOFIX, driver and front passenger airbags, multi-function computer, Gamma radio cassette with 6 disc changer and 8 speakers, Climatronic air conditioning, electric heated door mirrors. 25th Anniversary Edition Features: Exclusive front and rear bumpersBBS alloy wheels, lowered sports suspension, widened sills, Darkened rear lenses, Recaro Sports Seats in ‘Le Mans’ cloth with woven GTI logo and red stitching, GTI gear knob ‘golf ball shaped’, perforated leather steering wheel, gear lever gaiter and handbrake grip with bright red stitching, seat belts with bright red trim, aluminium pedals, brushed aluminium interior trim, carpets mats trimmed in bright red. Factory Options: Reflex Silver Metallic paint. Accessories: Blackvue Pittasoft 4k front and rear dash cam, Clifford Alarm, JL Audio loudspeaker (professional bespoke stealth installation), tailored GTI seat covers.

EXTERIOR
Being one of just 1,792 Golf GTI 25th Anniversary Edition cars is pretty special, yet being a one owner show winning example covering just 35,912 miles with phenomenal history is simply amazing. The cars were offered in three colours to pay homage to the three colours offered in the original Mk1 Golf GTI which were Mars Red, Diamond Metallic Silver and Schwartz Black. This example, car number 0301, in factory optional Reflex Silver Metallic paint, (Code LA7W), is virtually flawless throughout owing to the very low mileage and one owner who can only be described as a fanatical enthusiast caring for the car. The paintwork, trim and small details are exceptional throughout and features such as supplying dealer branded number plates remain fitted. The car has been magazine featured and has won awards at many of the shows it has attended. The underside is detailed and remains beautifully clean. Without question one of the best in existence.

INTERIOR
Unique to the 25th Anniversary Edition is the Recaro Sports Seats in ‘Le Mans’ cloth with woven GTI logo and red stitching, (Code 52). The interior is pristine throughout with seats showing no wear and bolsters retaining correct shape and firmness. The bright red detailing throughout retains correct colour thanks to garage storage from new away from UV light. The exclusive Anniversary trim sections remain in excellent order with only very light wear to the gear knob and some very faint scratches to the driver’s aluminium door pull handle and ignition surround. All equipment, controls and displays are in fine operation, including the ice-cold climate control. The headlining interior trim and carpets are immaculate with tailored mats in situ and even a brand-new unused second set acquired as a spare. An exceptional interior commensurate with the low mileage and cosseted ownership.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Just 967 Anniversary Editions were produced with the legendary bulletproof GTI PD150 engine and this low mileage example has enjoyed the most fastidious documented upkeep from new. Producing 150bhp and a thumping 320Nm maximum torque, the car achieves a top speed of 134mph and 0-62mph in just 8.6 seconds. The engine bay is spotless with all factory labels and stickers intact, and even the small foam pads to the tops of the inner front wings remain, almost unheard of as most degraded and fell off. The six-speed manual transmission performs impeccably.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Unique 18-inch ball polished BBS alloy wheels are standard fitment for the 25th Anniversary Edition and remain in amazing unrestored condition with no kerb damage and only miniscule spoke markings, barely visible. Correct specification Michelin Pilot Sport 4 225/40 ZR18 tyres with ample tread are fitted to all four corners and a full-size spare wheel is fitted. The braking system performs perfectly with all maintenance fully up to date, and the large bright red callipers hint toward the cars sporting pedigree.

HISTORY FILE
Number 0301 was supplied new by Volkswagen Main Dealer, Gilbert Lawton Ltd in Macclesfield, to the first and only owner, Mr Tunstall. Date of registration was the 26th July 2002 and for the last 23 years, the car has been Mr Tunstall’s pride and joy to a fanatical and near obsessive level! The condition of the car portrays the owners love for it, but so too does the enormous history file. Neatly filed in chronological order are masses of invoices and receipts from Volkswagen Main Dealers and marque specialists. There are 24 stamped entries, the majority of which are Volkswagen Main Dealer and since 2017 the same specialist. The most recent service was carried out in June 2025 and most recent cambelt, water pump and auxiliary belt was done in 2024 at 35,734 miles. The meticulous approach to ownership is further emphasised with the car having had three cambelt changes in less than 2000 miles and no less than four sets of alloys wheels replaced under warranty! Further warranty claims evidenced in the paperwork show that Mr Tunstall would not tolerate any wear on the car that could not be deemed fair and acceptable. Further items in the history file are an original 25th Anniversary Edition sales brochure, Magazine feature, pre-launch News Release bulletins and even a letter from Volkswagen UK in reply to Mr Tunstall writing to them where officials build numbers are confirmed and broken down to engine and month of build. Every MOT since the first in 2005 to present completes the history folder and the original Golf document wallet hold all handbooks and two service booklets. Photographs at various shows and numerous awards achieved spanning the life of the car can be seen. An outstanding example in every conceivable respect.

Volkswagen Beetle Deluxe Sedan

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A matching numbers UK RHD Volkswagen Beetle Deluxe Sedan with two owners.

EQUIPMENT
Twist-proof all-steel body, semaphore indicators, chrome window trim, chrome bumpers with chrome overriders, chrome bonnet line and side trims, chrome sill trim and window surrounds, soundproofing, specially lined partition between interior and engine compartment, padded sun visors, front passenger assist strap and coat hook, windshield washer, glove box with lid, ash-tray, door pockets and armrests, heater outlet, chrome rear view mirror. Factory Options: Outer mirror, fuel level gauge.

EXTERIOR
This classic and timeless example boasts amazing credentials of having just two owners, who were friends, throughout its 65-year life! Finished in its factory produced colour of Indigo Blue, (Code L436), the paintwork looks stunning with a bright polished shine and uniform finish. The additional chromework as adorned to the Deluxe model is in exceptional condition. Thankfully, the two mature owners from new have ensured the car has remained factory standard throughout and correct features such as the ‘Pope’s Nose’ numberplate light unit and the push-button grab door handles are correct for a 1960 car. Interestingly, the semaphore indicators were fitted to European cars up to 1960 having been discontinued in some other markets from 1955. The genuine VW original semaphores fitted to this car are fully operational and are a delightful throwback to a bygone motoring era. Further original features include the Bosch Germany VW headlamps and Hella rear lights, and all VW and Wolfsburg Crest badging is in superb order. A wonderful testament to the two devoted owners.

INTERIOR
Prepared to be wowed with an interior almost entirely original. The seats in Steel Grey leatherette, (Code 70), are factory original and correct for a 1960 car with ribbed backrests and coordinate beautifully with the exterior. There is a slight separation on the seam of the driver’s seat base but otherwise they are remarkably preserved. The rubber flooring, door cards and even under bonnet trim are factory fitted as is the headlining which is discoloured slightly. Correct revisions for a 1960 car are the dished safety steering wheel, passenger footrest and padded sunvisors replacing the previous transparent plastic. The ornate original steering wheel still has the Wolfsburg castle button and there is a small crack to each steering wheel spoke. All controls are fully operational including the horn, manual choke and optional fuel gauge. Even the doors shut with a reassuring thud! A lovely original interior.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
As verified by the heritage certificate drawn from original factory records, this example is a rare matching numbers UK car with the factory four cylinder horizontally opposed rear air-cooled engine of 1192cc still fitted. Producing 30bhp, the car has the correct 6v electrical set up and even retains the Solex downdraft carburettor 28 PCI with manual choke. Wonderfully unmolested throughout the engine compartment is stunning and incredibly still has all the original sound insulation. The 4-speed gearbox of single plate dry clutch type with synchromesh on 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears operates perfectly offering light and precise progression throughout the range.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Five pristine pressed steel wheels are painted in the original inner White L87 and outer Indigo Blue L436 colour scheme. Amazingly all four chrome hubcaps are genuine VW factory items and not inferior reproduction items. All tyres including spare are shod in premium Firestone F-560 tyres with masses of tread. Single circuit braking system with drums all-round offer modest stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
A spectacular traceable history. The heritage certificate drawn from original factory records verifies this Type 114 Volkswagen De Luxe Sedan to have been built on the 3rd June 1960 and delivered five days later to the Port of Ramsgate in Kent. The certificate also confirms the original colour and interior to which the car remains and that the engine number, VIN plate behind the spare wheel and transmission tunnel chassis stamp are all entirely correct! A genuine matching numbers RHD UK model, the car was registered on the 25th June 1960 and supplied by Volkswagen dealership, Kingsthorpe Garage in Northampton to a Mr Stanley Pratt who owned the car for 28 years. The second owner, Michael Deakin, bought the car from Stanley having known the car since new as the two were friends. Furthermore, Michael had maintained the car throughout as he actually served his apprenticeship for five years at Kingsthorpe Garage prior to setting up his own Volkswagen Specialist garage in 1971, D & S Autos. While owned by Stanley, D & S Autos and Michael continued to maintain the car and when the opportunity to buy the car arose, Michael jumped at the chance. Having known it from new and being aware of how well Stanley looked after it, never skimping on servicing and even keeping it garaged, how could he resist!? Upon acquiring the car in 1988 it needed very little but he still decided to lightly restore it to make it the best, most original example. Subsequently, life and business got in the way and the project took a back seat somewhat until 2007 when the car was put it back on the road and enjoyed for the occasional show. There is a photo of Stanley to the rear of the car when he sold it in 1988 and one of Michael when he sold the car too in 2025!

Finished in Volkswagen Kasan Red/Kasanrot, (Code L30B), the vibrant finish to the paintwork is superb with only very light imperfections consisting of touched in marks and small areas of thin paint on bonnet edges from years of overzealous polishing. All utterly insignificant and underline the remarkable originality. The factory panels are damage free and uniformly even and the doors shut with a reassuring thud. Originality seekers will delight at the original VW etched glass, badges, factory wax injection plugs and inner door shut stickers. Even the octane sticker to the inside of the petrol flap remains fitted! All chrome bumpers and trim pieces are intact and boast a brilliant shine. The factory fitted padded steering wheel with Wolfsburg crest is pristine, as is all other fully functioning controls and switchgear, even the dealer fitted Radiomobile push-button stereo! The factory sticker to the inner glovebox lid remains and the headlining is clean, fully intact and displays only very light discolouration around the rear seams. The front luggage compartment displays factory plates and stickers and houses the original spare wheel still feeding the pneumatic washer system, a system sadly often removed in favour of an electric washer pump. Remarkable.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The matching numbers standard air-cooled rear mounted engine produces 52bhp from its 1285cc displacement enabling a top speed of 78mph with the unmistakable Beetle engine note delightfully pronounced but completely unobtrusive. The engine bay is amazingly clean, exactly as Volkswagen intended and incredibly original. Even the now arguably primitive Volkswagen diagnostics plug remains fitted! The fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox works perfectly offering ease of use once familiarised.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original pressed steel wheels are in superb condition and dressed in immaculate chrome half wheel covers which are original items rather than inferior aftermarket fitment. Brand new and period correct Vredstein Sprint Classic 155 SR15 tyres were sourced from Vintage Tyres in October 2024 at considerable cost. Fully overhauled in October 2024, the dual circuit drums front and rear operate freely, offering modest yet perfectly adequate stopping power when compared to modern vehicles, exactly as they were made!

HISTORY FILE
This 1970 model year Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was manufactured in January 1970 at the Karmann Coachworks in Osnabruck, Germany, where originally artisans made coaches for European nobility. This prime example was imported from Florida to the UK in August 2021 by a seasoned Volkswagen collector, William Ward. His VW collection incorporates the most iconic and immaculate air-cooled models amassed over decades. Frustrated by the overpriced and poorly restored Type 14 examples in the UK, he eventually managed to source a car directly from the US owner and ex Florida State Prosecutor/Vietnam Veteran, Mr Garringer. He too was a gentleman heavily involved in classic Volkswagen circles and the two formed a mutual bond to enable the car to arrive safely in the UK. A huge file of paperwork from renowned Volkswagen and Karmann Ghia specific specialists show the level of expense required in order to create such a beautifully restored example. An original handbook and period sales brochure is included. Fully UK registered and amongst the finest Karmann Ghia’s available, this example will delight in every respect.

HISTORY FILE
This UK example was registered new on the 1st June 1971 by supplying Volkswagen Main Dealer, Birch’s Garage Ltd in Cambridge. Incredibly just three owners and 53,972 miles from new, this very special Dormobile was a factory conversion from new rather than one which was carried out retrospectively. The first owner, a Mr R.C. Cain Esq, purchased the vehicle and paid £1,401 as evidenced by the original order form, sales invoice and payment docket which remarkably have all been kept! Mr Cain loved the Dormobile for 30 years with strict dry storage and dry day usage was paramount and there is even a detailed maintenance log spanning from 1979 to 2000. On recommendation from a friend and fellow Volkswagen fanatic, the second owner approached Mr Cain in 2001 and agreed a deal to buy the vehicle and found that it was every bit as original and incredible as he as been promised. In the hands of the second owner for 19 years, there has been just one change of keeper since.

A vehicle history file makes for wonderful perusal and includes the service record, handbook and very rare VW diagnostic coupon booklet! A Volkswagen Camper and Commercial magazine feature from 2014 featuring this Dormobile not only covers six pages but is also even the centre fold poster! Without question one of the best Type 2 example in existence and seldomly available to the open market. Buy it while you can.
