MODEL HISTORY
Produced from 1978 to 1995, the Porsche 928 was initially developed as a replacement for the quirky and sometimes difficult to drive 911. However, the characteristics of this V8 Gran Turismo, Porsche’s first production V8 model, were somewhat different to the 911 and direct replacement did not come to fruition. Porsche’s design and development efforts paid off during the 1978 European Car of the Year, where the 928 won ahead of the BMW 7-Series and the Ford Granada. The final and arguably the most coveted 928 models was the GTS as presented here.

INTERIOR
The unique interior of the 928, a masterpiece from the Porsche Design Studio, is both functional and wonderfully elegant. The sculptured, anatomically correct seats are trimmed in the original hand-stitched draped leather in light grey, (Code GZ). The matching colour scheme carpets have been protected from new by expensive Porsche tailored over mats. The fibre optic instrument panel has all elements working perfectly with just some light crazing to the instrument backing. The rear seats fold completely flat to create a spacious luggage area and the pristine boot space housing the original space saver spare wheel with Vredstein tyre and factory jack in the original sheath. Factory build stickers to the driver’s door shut and the factory options code sticker to the boot floor remain, essential for originality seekers. The ultimate GT interior, built to cruise the Riviera!

Alluring hand-crafted leather seats finished in Metropole Blue Leather, (Code EX), are further enhanced with factory optional Porsche crests embossed into the seat backs.  Having covered such low mileage, the supportive seats are in exemplary condition with firm seat structure and supple leather.  One tiny mark and very light hairline creases to the driver’s seat bolster are evident.  Genuine tailored Porsche velour mats have protected the carpets from new.  The door shuts and luggage areas are factory fresh with stickers still attached including the VIL (Vehicle Identification Label) to the bonnet underside.   The tightly grouped overlapping layout of the five gauges with the tachometer in the centre are an unmistakable testament to the 911’s racing heritage and everything functions correctly with precision.  A rewarding, practical and perfectly-engineered cockpit.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Filling the spotless wheel apertures are optional 18in Carrera alloys wheels with factory optional coloured Porsche crest centre caps, all in pristine condition.  Premium quality Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tyres have masses of tread and the unused space saver spare wheel is housed in the immaculate front luggage area complete with the original Mobil 1 spare oil zip-bag and official Porsche screen wash.   The lightweight jack, tools and brace are all present.  The 4-piston patented monobloc fixed callipers in original black proudly and clearly display the Porsche inscription and grip tightly to the vented cross-drilled discs.
