The original vehicle order form and subsequent sales invoice have been kept and show a list price of £15,020.00 which has been altered with the quote ‘mega deal – £12,845.00’ which is the final invoice price! In September 2022 and when the odometer read just over 5,000 miles, the original lady owner gifted the car to her niece who has covered a fun filled further 6,000 miles. The large history file is neatly organised and includes welcome letters from the supplying dealer as well as a further letter following the collapse of MG Rover whereby the dealer assures the owner that they will honour the outstanding warranty in lew of the now defunct manufacturer warranty! There are service invoices dating back to the first in 2004 as well as all MOT records from the first in 2006. The original MG handbook/service book is present along with a ZR/ZS range brochure and MG Owners Club letters.

KGF Classic Cars are delighted to have sourced this example whereby a major service has been undertaken to include absolutely all oils, fluids and filters as well as cambelt, VVC belt, tensioner and water pump and brand-new brake discs and pads all round. Preceding this MGF was firstly an Austin A30 purchased in 1960 followed by an Austin A40 in 1965 and a Skoda S100 in 1977. Incredibly, Mr Kettle has kept the order forms and purchase invoices for these cars and they have been left in the history file for the MGF to tell a story of one mans driving career which has now come to an end. Always a conscientious motorist, the owner has kept detailed journey logs dating back many years and inside the car were his driving gloves, brolly and various traditional road maps as well as Supaguard care products. He even kept the original Autocar magazine from January 2001 when the car was launched and a Trophy Yellow example was the cover feature!

HISTORY FILE
This low mileage MG ZR was registered new on the 29th September 2001 by supplying MG Rover Main Dealer, Horner Eccles Ltd in Manchester and represents a very early pre-Project Drive example of the model. Project Drive was a cost cutting program implemented by MG Rover in late 2001/2002 that fixated on changes to trim, sound insulation and quality of some furnishings in order to save production costs and thankfully this example did not fall victim to any of these measures. Despite the low mileage, the car has benefitted from regular servicing and maintenance and there are 17 stamped entries in the service book, the most recent at 29,647 miles. A documented cambelt change was carried out in September 2023. The original MG handbook/service book along with a large files of service invoices form the full service history and every MOT certificate dating back to the first in 2004 fully verified the mileage at 30,501 miles.

KGF Classic Cars have sourced this stunning example from an enthusiast owner whereby the car was garaged alongside an MGB and Ford Escort RS2000. Very difficult to find in this condition and not to be confused with the majority of tired examples and ready to stand proud at any show.

MG XPower SV-R

With experts and suppliers stretching the globe from chassis structure in Italy, carbon fibre materials in the Isle of Wright, engine builders in Detroit and final finishing and trimming at Longbridge, the thousand-mile production line was a logistical and technical challenge. A total of just 82 cars were made, of which only 42 being the more powerful SV-R. Customers including Rowan Atkinson were keen to experience this MG Supercar before the company entered administration on the 12th April 2005. Chassis #155 was first registered to MG Sports and Racing Ltd as a demonstrator and was the most expensive standard car on top of which the list of factory options is eye-watering!

The result, a complete shell weighing only 65kg and the entire vehicle having an unladen weight of just 1,500kg. In stark contrast and ridiculed as a result, are the Fiat Punto projector headlamps and Fiat Coupe circular rear lights embellished with chrome rings!

INTERIOR
Race style Recaro grabbing sports seats are finished in optional and expensive Oyster leather/Alcantara, (Code OY), the leather sections sourced from the Scottish Bridge of Weir tannery. Slight wear to the driver bolster does not detract from the overall excellent condition. Soft leather, Alcantara and wool coloured-keyed carpets specially dyed in Italy are immaculate. Carbon fibre is clearly visible in the cars structure and stainless-steel trims and carbon finish centre console complete the clean look and contrast beautifully against the green dial instruments. A high specification example to help justify the eye watering price tag when new!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

A burbling deep-chested exhaust rumble is intoxicating and immense fun. A massive history folder affirms the cars pampered existence which means this car goes as good as it looks! WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKE

Purchasing the Rover Group for a notional sum of £10 in May 2000 which then followed in the five executives involved taking £42m in pay, pensions and fast cars, before it collapsed in April 2005. Then purchased by serial car collector, Colin Faulkner via the Wyles Hardy & Co MG Sport & Racing liquidation sale when the car had covered just 2,879 miles. His other icons include the AC Cobra, Morgan V8 and Porsche 911 Turbo. In July 2008 the car was then sold to Brian Stymest who was adamant his chosen MG XPower must be the more powerful SV-R and a complete original factory built car. With assistance from the MG SV Owners Club this prime example was purchased and remained in his care for 12 years before being sold to his son-in-law in November 2020. The MG RV8 was always destined to become a classic with just 1983 units made reviving a golden motoring repute and celebrating thirty years after the birth of the legendary MGB. This exceptional example spent eleven years with its sole Japanese owner who purchased the car new in 1995. Manufactured in June 1995, the vehicle was repatriated in 2006 with all importation documents and UK registration completed. The car was sold by a Hyundai Main Dealer, T. W. White & Sons of Weybridge, who imported the car from Japan. The first UK buyer was a Mr Maurice Amdur who is non other than a Physic and Clairvoyant to the Stars and for whom a quick search engine explore will reveals his close connection with countless A-List celebrities for many years! Mr Amdur never registered the car in his name and he owned for just two weeks. KGF Classic Cars contacted him to ask why he sold it so soon and he kindly replied in writing stating that he found himself too tall for the car and that it was an excellent car. He went on to say he believes it to be a mistake that he sold it and he would happily speak to a new owner to offer guidance on their future together! The car was subsequently sold to the only UK registered owner, Mr Noel, who has owned it since.

There is paperwork from when the car was in Japan with key information such as dates and mileage translated and there is also a photograph of the original speedometer clock from when the car left Japan displaying 669km/415 miles.
