EXTERIOR
The flagship model in the TF range is the ferocious 160 variant and this exceptional example has covered a mere 5,996 miles from new. Entirely commensurate with the amazing credentials, the 100% factory original Solar Red paintwork, (Code CMU), is pristine throughout with no imperfections worthy of mention aside from a tiny touched in scratch to the front edge of the offside front wing. Garaged from new and used strictly in dry conditions, the underside is spectacular with nothing other than factory protection allowing easy inspection of just how special this car is, even down to coloured PDI dabs and paper labels still visible! The Black hood is also perfectly preserved and complete with tonneau, and the original plastic rear screen is fully intact with only a few markings. All trim sections, glass, lights and badges are as new, and the supplying dealer number plates and tax disc holder remain fitted. The front screen also has am MG Owners Club sticker easily removed if desired. This is a truly outstanding example, one of the best perhaps.
INTERIOR
The Black Daytona upholstery, (Code PVE), consists of Daytona cloth seat facings and kidneys with Black Leather bolster. Having covered just 5,996 miles, the interior is beautifully preserved in perfect condition. The flawless Ash cockpit houses fully functioning switchgear and original stereo. The chunky leather steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake grip are standard MG fitment and all touch points show no wear. Over mats have protected the carpet since new and the door carpets are immaculate. A surprisingly large rear boot is pristine and the spotless front compartment displays PDI dabs and all factory plates and stickers fully intact. Justifiably described as showroom fresh and a sure show winner.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The desirable four-cylinder 1796cc VVC, (Variable Valve Control) engine produces 160bhp enabling a top speed of 137mph and 0-60 in just 6.9 seconds, this is a fast car! The lightweight body, race-bred chassis, mid-mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration possesses all the correct sports car credentials to ensure optimum driver delight. The short throw sports ratio five speed gearbox completes the package and to drive a super-low mileage and unmolested example is something many MG TF owners can now only imagine.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Standard on the TF 160 are the 11-spoke alloy wheels which are immaculate with perfect centre caps. Those seeking total originality for a collection, will be pleased to see the perfect factory fitted Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres of size 195/45 R18 front and 215/40 ZR18 rear, which should be replaced if the car is to be put into regular use. The optional extra full size spare alloy which has never seen the road. Further standard specification equipment for the TF 160 included anti-lock assistance as well as uprated front disc brakes and bright red front callipers with MG emblem.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by MG Rover Main Dealer, Holden Motors in Norwich, this TF was registered on the 14th June 2004. The car has covered a miniscule 5,996 miles from new and has been utterly pampered by just two former keeper and MG Owners Club enthusiasts. All servicing and maintenance is fully up to date with a major service in May 2026 when the cambelt, VVC belt and water pump were also renewed. A supporting invoice, parts receipt and service book entry verify this work. The original handbook and service book are present in the plastic MG wallet and there are two original keys with remote fobs and dealership keyring. A file of paperwork includes service and MOT records as well as original brochures, specification booklets and price lists. This example is very close to a new UK MG Rover built TF and every single aspect will amaze and delight the next lucky owner.
