EXTERIOR
This iconic 1600E is finished in the highly sought after Ford Amber Gold, (Code B4), the colour used in much of the marketing literature and Ford brochures. A full restoration has been undertaken to meticulous standards and the finished car is truly wonderful. The paint boasts a glossy uniform sheen, and the bodywork has been painstakingly prepared to a very high level. Two small marks behind the front and rear bumper corners and a tiny scratch to the nearside C-pillar are the only noteworthy imperfections. A later Series 2 example, this car accurately displays the revisions made including the redesigned front grille with taller blue, (instead of red), Cortina badge which covered the hole left when the external bonnet release button became an internal release. Also, the additional Ford lettering to the bonnet and matt black panel between the rear lights reflect the Series 2 changes. All chrome is in fabulous order showing some very light tarnishing and the rear bumper is a new old stock genuine Ford item still with Ford label attached! Glass is FoMoCo branded and it is pleasing to see genuine light fittings including the WIPAC driving lamps and twin reversing lights and FoMoCo indicators and rear lights. A wonderful example of this executive 1600E icon.

INTERIOR
The interior of this classic Cortina is truly remarkable. The sculptured and sumptuous front reclining and rear bucket seats are trimmed in Black PVC, (Code B635), and remain in excellent condition. A small, neat repair has been carried to the base of the driver’s seat. The seats have retained all integrity and shape and the matching door cards and thick pile carpeting are immaculate. The real walnut fascia and door cappings are in excellent order throughout with no fade, chips or flaking. The gauges housed in the stunning fascia are clear and fully operational as are all other interior functions and controls including the electric clock. Beneficial Series 2 revisions such as the handbrake re-sited from below the dash to the centre console are correct and the boot area is spotless still with spare wheel cover in place! Lashings of lavish 1600E opulence!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1600E is fitted with the high-performance version of the 1600cc cross flow engine with a higher compression ratio so producing 93bhp at 5400rpm, as fitted to the GT. This gives a top speed of 96mph and 0-60 in 11.8 seconds. The 1600E further enjoyed lowered Lotus suspension and extra sound deadening for a sporting yet refined driving experience. The engine bay is suitable for bonnet up exhibiting and the show circuit. Accuspark electronic ignition is a welcome upgrade. The 4-speed transmission has a light short shift action.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original four spoke sculptured steel Rostyle wheels by Ruby Owen measuring 5.5-in have the correct chromed spiders and are in excellent condition. Goodyear Grand Prix S 165 SR13 tyres are fitted to each corner with ample tread. The chromed wheel embellishers were not fitted to this car as although deemed standard equipment for the 1600E, these were not always available as confirmed by annexes in the original sales brochures. The 9.62in front disc and 9.00in rear drum brakes perform well stopping the car safely.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 19th March 1969 at a Nottinghamshire Ford dealership, this example is a genuine Series 2 1600E which has been lovingly restored to the previous owners exacting standards. Mr Coupland is a retired Ford Engineer working and repairing these cars when new and having owned a number of examples in the 1970’s, his desire to own another prompted this immense project to sit alongside his concours winning 1934 Austin 10/4. Finished in his preferred colour choice of Amber Gold, numerous photos in the history file show the car prior and during restoration where it can be seen that the car was fully stripped before preparation and repainting. The car has covered just 753 miles since restoration but unfortunately after just a few shows Mr Coupland became ill leading to the difficult decision to sell his pride and joy. Both the car and previous owner are well known to the Ford Cortina MkII & 1600E Owners Club and recent correspondence with the Chairman confirms the car to be ‘correct in every way.’ The vehicle comes with the owners handbook and two keys with club key ring and a recent major service. The vehicle has had just five keepers in 56 years in will delight anyone seeking a lovingly restored and show condition example of this popular Ford legend.

The bike was purchased in 2024 by the previous owner, Mr Moore, whose hobby of tinkering with classic motorcycles has taken over his garden with various outbuildings designed for everything from storage, refurbishment, maintenance and even a small parts department! Partial restoration has involved meticulous refurbishment of original parts to achieve the fantastic presentation without loss of the standard look. The bike runs and performs as good as it looks and despite qualifying for tax and MOT exception, the next owner will enjoy the peace of mind gained from the MOT carried out in November 2024 where it passed with flying colours. An original handbook, service book, (stamped by the supplying dealer), UK workshop manual and sales brochure are included. Great fun and a sense of humour required!

Upgrades include a conversion to 12V key operated ignition and lighting circuit with incorporation of an electronic Ducati system. The engine kicks into life effortlessly and the bike rides and progresses through the 4-speed transmission superbly, although the bike will require running-in.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Colour coded 2.10×10 rims front and rear are spotless and shod in new Michelin S83 3.50×10 tyres including the spare which have covered less than a mile! 150mm internal width aluminium finned-drum brakes have been fully rebuilt and operate well with the offside hand lever and rear foot brake.

HISTORY FILE
This wonderful Lambretta Li 150 was manufactured in 1962 by Innocenti in their Milan factory. The original Carta Di Circolazione (Registration Card) dated the 10th September 1962 confirms this as a genuine Li 150 with frame number matching that on the bike today. A Foglio Complementare (Complementary Sheet) dated 14th September 1962 shows first registration to a Franco Gianotti in Genova. Furthermore, there is a Dating Certificate from the British Lambretta Owners Association, the go to organisation for anything Lambretta related in the UK, confirming this bike as a Innocenti built Li 150 Series III from 1962 with frame and engine number matching that of the early documents as well as the identity numbers on the bike itself. Brought to the UK direct from Italy in 2015, the bike is now fully restored and importantly, UK registered. The UK owner who undertook the restoration, Mr Jones, described the project as a ‘labour of love’, in a personal letter and that the inspiration for this came from the fact he purchased a brand new black and white Li 150 in 1963 when he was 18 years old! Embarking on the project during the Covid lockdown and fulfilling his dream, Mr Jones was sadly never able to enjoy the fruits of his labour due to illness and on his passing the family made the difficult decision to sell the bike. The documented restoration is vastly comprehensive and although fully operational the bike will require running-in. Everything from a full strip down and removal of the engine to the frame and body components being stripped and sandblasted before preparation for undercoating and final painting in the colour scheme of his original bike at a professional body shop. The engine was stripped, cleaned and rebuilt following de-carbonising with a new clutch and springs, and new GP crank, bearings and seals. The rebuilt really was a no expense spared affair with new exhaust system, suspension and brakes as well as all new screws, nuts, bolts, clips, washers, rubber, bearings and wiring loom. The huge history file holds all invoices for parts. A tremendous example in every respect.
