The result, a complete shell weighing only 65kg and the entire vehicle having an unladen weight of just 1,500kg. In stark contrast and ridiculed as a result, are the Fiat Punto projector headlamps and Fiat Coupe circular rear lights embellished with chrome rings!

HISTORY FILE
The intriguing MG XPower SV Supercar has already cemented its place in motoring history and with so few made this top specification SV-R with only 9,464 miles and fully traceable history deserves a place in any car collection. Registered on the 7 September 2004, the first registered owner was disgraced Phoenix Venture Holdings. Purchasing the Rover Group for a notional sum of £10 in May 2000 which then followed in the five executives involved taking £42m in pay, pensions and fast cars, before it collapsed in April 2005. Then purchased by serial car collector, Colin Faulkner via the Wyles Hardy & Co MG Sport & Racing liquidation sale when the car had covered just 2,879 miles. His other icons include the AC Cobra, Morgan V8 and Porsche 911 Turbo. In July 2008 the car was then sold to Brian Stymest who was adamant his chosen MG XPower must be the more powerful SV-R and a complete original factory built car. With assistance from the MG SV Owners Club this prime example was purchased and remained in his care for 12 years before being sold to his son-in-law in November 2020. With specialist invoices from Chiltern Aston, Luffield Service Centre and Redline American Muscle Garage along with annual MOT and service checks this example has full traceable history.

All handbooks, brochures, manuals and even Wyles Hardy auction cataloges remain in the neatly organised history file. An original spare parts catalogue and MG XPower SV book by David Knowles is included.

HISTORY FILE
The MG RV8 was always destined to become a classic with just 1983 units made reviving a golden motoring repute and celebrating thirty years after the birth of the legendary MGB. This exceptional example spent eleven years with its sole Japanese owner who purchased the car new in 1995. Manufactured in June 1995, the vehicle was repatriated in 2006 with all importation documents and UK registration completed. The car was sold by a Hyundai Main Dealer, T. W. White & Sons of Weybridge, who imported the car from Japan. The first UK buyer was a Mr Maurice Amdur who is non other than a Physic and Clairvoyant to the Stars and for whom a quick search engine explore will reveals his close connection with countless A-List celebrities for many years! Mr Amdur never registered the car in his name and he owned for just two weeks. KGF Classic Cars contacted him to ask why he sold it so soon and he kindly replied in writing stating that he found himself too tall for the car and that it was an excellent car. He went on to say he believes it to be a mistake that he sold it and he would happily speak to a new owner to offer guidance on their future together! The car was subsequently sold to the only UK registered owner, Mr Noel, who has owned it since.

There is paperwork from when the car was in Japan with key information such as dates and mileage translated and there is also a photograph of the original speedometer clock from when the car left Japan displaying 669km/415 miles. The current odometer reads 404 miles totalling 820 miles from new! In August 2022 the car was subject to a full inspection, recommission and major service by classic cars specialists and is now ready to enjoy or preserve as the new owner wishes. Both sets of keys and code tags are present along with the book pack including the service book. An MG RV8 ‘The Marque has returned’ sales brochure is included and cherished registration E3MGR remains with the car. This stunning example is a must for anyone seeking a rare and collectors quality example of MG motoring history.

He bought the car having known it since it was 11 months old and safe in the knowledge of how well it had been cared for and that it had never been driven hard, the fate of many ST Fiesta’s! A desire to create a car worthy of concours competitions whilst retaining originality led to countless weekends lost to painstaking detailing as well as refurbishment and replacement of small underside components. A huge catalogued file of parts receipts evidences the extensive sourcing of genuine Ford parts and alludes to the no expense spared and no compromise mentality directed at the project. All fluids and servicing were undertaken at the time. The result is simply astonishing, a car that drives as good as it looks.

A period engine build which will be the envy of many with stonking performance quoted at 175bhp from the 2.1 Pinto engine with reliability built in thanks to top specification and quality components. With knowledgeable ownership including a Development Engineer at Ford’s Research Centre at Dunton, this car barks with pleasure and encourages boy racer antics! Goodridge braided hoses and bias pedal box with custom reservoir complete with Girling cap shed the speed off quickly and safely.

HISTORY FILE
With only around 2,500 Mk2 Ford Mexico’s made, (source Ford RS Owners Club), this car represents a very rare breed! Positioned awkwardly in price and specification between a 1600 Sport and an RS2000 when new the Mexico had a very short production run and therefore is now a highly sought after model amongst collectors. This car is one of just two known to the RS Owners Club finished in Black. Built in November 1976 and registered February 1977 the car had a genuine Black Ford Mexico Service Shell supplied by the Ford Saarlouis plant in 1979. The original shell finished in Signal Green was damaged. Not recorded but noted by the unique Build Plate, the history and authenticity of this car can be validated by the RS Owners Club. Last sold by KGF Classic Cars in 2017 the previous owner then went to great lengths to track down the original first keeper, Jeremy Rose, and amazingly did so, met up with him and shared fascinating information. There are now photos of the car brand new and a first-hand account of the early history. This fascinating tale is also documented in the February 2020 magazine, Classic & Sports Car. Not only this, but the previous owner also contacted Geoff Fletcher, a talented RS specialist and instrumental in the restoration of the car, to carry out some recent works. An incredible history file neatly and chronologically ordered packed with invoices, photo albums and magazine features will amaze the next custodian. Furthermore, the car has been owned by respected members of the RS community who performed various roles for the RS Owners Club to offer absolute reassurance for the next Ford Blue Oval fan. If you should miss out on this formidable car again, fear not, there is an actual Corgi Vanguards 1:43 die-cast model to buy!

Supplied new by Main Dealer, Lincoln Suzuki, the car was registered on the 13th August 2003. In 2010 the car was no longer being used whereby it remained in the garage until in 2022 and following the passing of the only owner the car was discovered. Despite the low mileage there are seven stamped entries in the original service booklet with the most recent being in August 2022 at 979 miles which entailed a full program of recommissioning including a major service with all oils, fluids and filters replaced as well as a full safety inspection.

The original Suzuki document wallet houses all handbooks, guides and dealership literature as well as two sets of keys with code tags and dealer fobs. A separate history folder contains recent service documentation along with Jimny range sales and accessories brochures. Preserved to the highest original order and as close to a new 2003 Jimny as you are ever likely to find, truly outstanding.
