A beautifully clean, original and unspoilt example of a rare sporting hot cabriolet with the iconic XR3i name. Finished in factory original Radiant Red, (Code PA9), the paintwork boasts a stunning deep shine and uniform finish that can only be described as near flawless, the only notable exception being a touched in mark to the front plastic grille. The original soft-top roof is in superb condition with no damage whatsoever and the car has clearly been garaged from new with no fading to the vinyl or cracks. The colour keyed hood cover for use when the hood is lowered is present and spotless. The panels on this example boast factory fitment with date stampings clearly visible and the underside is clean and detailed to a high show standard. All glass is factory fitment with number plate security etching and the front screen still displays the original first tax disc! Correct Carello headlamps are crystal clear and Ford emblems, trim sections, badges and iconic XR3i decals are immaculate. INTERIOR
With seating for up to five people, this model remains both a fun and practical option of open-top classic motoring. The supportive sports seats trimmed with Zolda fabric in Shadow colour scheme, (Code LU), are in outstanding condition and the colour keyed shark grey cut pile carpet has been protected from new by genuine Ford tailored ‘waffle’ rubber mats. Several spare supplying dealer A.W.&.D. Hammond branded paper floor mats have been reproduced for show purposes and the boot carpet has a clear film protective cover. The door cards show no notable wear to the handles or shrinkage to the armrest sections that is commonly associated with the model. The dashboard and switchgear are in superb order and all functions and controls operate including the standard Ford ESRT 32 PS radio/cassette with electric aerial and the roof mounted digital clock. The sports two-spoke steering wheel and gear knob still have natural veins visible thanks to the low miles. 1980’s Ford interior perfection!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A delightfully crisp, responsive and free-revving 1.6 OHC (CVH) engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection produces 105bhp to achieve 0-60mph in 9.7 seconds and a top speed of 115mph. The engine bay presentation is excellent with original factory stickers, labels and panel stampings and would please the exhibitionist attending classic car shows at both an amateur and concours level. The five-speed gearbox is light and precise and aids the enthusiastic performance XR3i’s are known for.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Optional extra alloy wheels size 6 x 14in are in pristine condition and are shod in factory correct specification Dunlop SP Sport 200 tyres. The matching fifth alloy spare with original Dunlop SP Sport D8 tyre is unused and shows coloured banding and tyre nobbles. Clipped inside the spare wheel is the unused jack and brace with original soft square protection pads. The diagonally split dual-line servo assisted brakes with factory optional Anti-Lock Brakes stop the car quickly and safely.

HISTORY FILE
Produced in August 1988 and registered new on the 3rd October 1988 by Ford Main Dealer, A.W.&.D. Hammond of Halesworth, the car was registered to a Mr Bevington who is noted on the new car sales invoice in the history file. The invoice breaks down the factory cost options and the total price paid of £11,953.72. Several invoices from the supply dealership show that the car returned to them for servicing and maintenance up to 2006 with the car going to independent specialists thereafter. In October 2025 the car was serviced using genuine Ford parts and the cambelt and water pump also renewed at this point. One of the three former keepers from new was detailing specialist Mark Stewart. On the hunt for a special Ford he stumbled across this 1989 XR3i cabriolet with just 9k miles on the clock and was blown away by its originality. Not replacing anything, he simply detailed every square inch to get as clean he could. The results are simply outstanding with one of the highlights and his proudest moment, winning Waxstock 2018. The car has also been featured on the prestigious Meguiar’s Club Showcase at the NEC Classic Car Show and has subsequently remained within a car collection since.

All handbooks are included along with the original service book as well as a Ford range brochure from 1988. With just 16,975 miles from new and in original condition, this car will appeal to the Blue Oval collector looking for one of the finest preserved examples.

MODEL HISTORY
The iconic Volkswagen Golf GTI was first launched in 1977 and instantly became not only a phenomenal success but an automotive legend. 25 years later and in its fourth generation, the demand for the Golf GTI was as strong as ever and to celebrate the quarter century milestone, Volkswagen launched this, The Golf GTI 25th Anniversary Edition. Initial speculation was that 1,800 units would be produced, 900 each in both petrol and diesel, however Volkswagen archive records confirm that in fact 1,792 were made, 825 of which were petrol and 967 diesel, (Source of information, Volkswagen (UK) Single Point of Contact Team). The cars were offered in three colours to pay homage to the three colours offered in the original Mk1 Golf GTI which were Mars Red, Diamond Metallic Silver and Schwartz Black. The bright red detailing throughout retains correct colour thanks to garage storage from new away from UV light. The exclusive Anniversary trim sections remain in excellent order with only very light wear to the gear knob and some very faint scratches to the driver’s aluminium door pull handle and ignition surround. All equipment, controls and displays are in fine operation, including the ice-cold climate control. The headlining interior trim and carpets are immaculate with tailored mats in situ and even a brand-new unused second set acquired as a spare. An exceptional interior commensurate with the low mileage and cosseted ownership.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Just 967 Anniversary Editions were produced with the legendary bulletproof GTI PD150 engine and this low mileage example has enjoyed the most fastidious documented upkeep from new. Producing 150bhp and a thumping 320Nm maximum torque, the car achieves a top speed of 134mph and 0-62mph in just 8.6 seconds. The engine bay is spotless with all factory labels and stickers intact, and even the small foam pads to the tops of the inner front wings remain, almost unheard of as most degraded and fell off. The six-speed manual transmission performs impeccably.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Unique 18-inch ball polished BBS alloy wheels are standard fitment for the 25th Anniversary Edition and remain in amazing unrestored condition with no kerb damage and only miniscule spoke markings, barely visible. Correct specification Michelin Pilot Sport 4 225/40 ZR18 tyres with ample tread are fitted to all four corners and a full-size spare wheel is fitted. The braking system performs perfectly with all maintenance fully up to date, and the large bright red callipers hint toward the cars sporting pedigree.

HISTORY FILE
Number 0301 was supplied new by Volkswagen Main Dealer, Gilbert Lawton Ltd in Macclesfield, to the first and only owner, Mr Tunstall. Date of registration was the 26th July 2002 and for the last 23 years, the car has been Mr Tunstall’s pride and joy to a fanatical and near obsessive level! The condition of the car portrays the owners love for it, but so too does the enormous history file. Neatly filed in chronological order are masses of invoices and receipts from Volkswagen Main Dealers and marque specialists. There are 24 stamped entries, the majority of which are Volkswagen Main Dealer and since 2017 the same specialist. The most recent service was carried out in June 2025 and most recent cambelt, water pump and auxiliary belt was done in 2024 at 35,734 miles. The meticulous approach to ownership is further emphasised with the car having had three cambelt changes in less than 2000 miles and no less than four sets of alloys wheels replaced under warranty! Further warranty claims evidenced in the paperwork show that Mr Tunstall would not tolerate any wear on the car that could not be deemed fair and acceptable. Further items in the history file are an original 25th Anniversary Edition sales brochure, Magazine feature, pre-launch News Release bulletins and even a letter from Volkswagen UK in reply to Mr Tunstall writing to them where officials build numbers are confirmed and broken down to engine and month of build. Every MOT since the first in 2005 to present completes the history folder and the original Golf document wallet hold all handbooks and two service booklets. Photographs at various shows and numerous awards achieved spanning the life of the car can be seen. An outstanding example in every conceivable respect.

EXTERIOR
An early Mk1 Fiesta on a S suffix registration, this wonderfully honest example has remained in the same family since new and covered a mere 44,161 miles! Finished in the deliciously period original colour of Nevada Beige, (Code 8), this unrestored example looks amazing with a deep glossy shine to the body panels which, incredibly, are factory fitment. Amazing preservation, thanks in large to dealer applied Endrust treatment from new and cherished family ownership, has seen the bodywork survive in amazing condition with zero evident rust repairs and an underside in perfect structural condition having never been welded, which is almost unheard of! Close scrutiny reveals nothing other than a few light touched in scratches and slight age tarnishing to the badges. Trim sections, lenses and bumpers are in fantastic condition and the original coachline and factory glass throughout remains, as do the supplying dealer steel number plates and rear screen sticker. Lack of rear screen wiper denote an earlier car and this brilliant example is among the best you will ever find.

INTERIOR
The original L specification Houndstooth Fabric Trim in Black and Chocolate, (Code J I), is wonderfully retro and remains beautifully unspoilt. The fabric and structure to the seats is superb and spotlessly clean, and the doors cards, carpets and headlining are immaculate. Very slight fading to the top of the rear bench seat is forgiven considering the originality, and even factory stickers remain on the seat belt buckles! The wonderfully sparse fascia is fully intact with no cracks or damage and all equipment and functions, albeit minimal, operate perfectly. The foot operated manual pump for the windscreen washers is a feature of only the very early cars, yet on this example this has been bypassed for a discreet and far more effective electric button on the steering column. One rear ashtray is missing. The luggage space is very clean and complete with the original jack and brace as well as factory foam insulation intact. An unspoilt reflection of a bygone simplistic motoring era, this incredible early Fiesta interior is just lovely!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This frugal Fiesta L 950 is powered by the 957cc four-cylinder OHV unit developing a blistering 45bhp! Fabulously robust and simple, the engine still has the original single-choke carburettor with Ford fuel pump and the car jumps into life effortlessly. The instantly recognisable engine hum is hugely nostalgic, and car performs brilliantly. The engine bay still wears the extensive Endrust treatment which has done its job entirely in preserving the structure. The original inner wings, strut tops and bulkhead are absolutely solid. The engine bay presents very well with factory PDI dabs visible as well as Ford plug leads. Further early car features include lack of brake servo, slam panel mounted VIN plate and the radiator overflow sited next to the radiator as opposed to the bulkhead. The four-speed gearbox operates well and this lively little Fiesta is great fun to drive!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory steel wheels of size 4 x 12 are in perfect order with all black centre caps intact. Matching branded 145/80 R12 tyres have plenty of tread and the spare wheel is shod in a Pirelli Cinturato P3 tyre. The diagonally split brakes with discs up front and self-adjusting drums at the rear operate correctly having been subject to full overhaul in October 2025.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 13th June 1978 by Ford Main Dealer, Sopers of South Brent Ltd, this exceptional example was purchased by first owner Mr Goss. The new car sales invoice in the history file shows he paid £2,667.19 having opted for Endrust preservation treatment and with a part exchange allowance of £150.19 for his 1964 Ford Anglia. Incredibly, this Fiesta has remained in the Goss family since new with ownership passing to his wife in 1992 and then son in 2001. The history file is equally amazing and huge, with the original service book stamped with annual servicing by the supplying dealer until the late 1980’s and since then up to 2021 the same independent garage has serviced the car virtually every year! There are no less than 50 invoices from Wrangaton Motors in South Brent for servicing and maintenance spanning from the first in 1986 right up to 2021, 35 years! Furthermore, all MOT certificates from the 1980’s to present are neatly filed and the mere 44,161 miles from new is fully warranted. A full service and mechanical inspection was carried out in October 2025 and maintenance items such as the water pump, belt and brakes have been replaced/overhauled at this time. The handbook, spare keys and even an original Ford range brochure from 1978 are present. The condition, originality, ownership history and colossal history file are equally amazing and there is no doubt this is one of the best cared for Fiesta’s in existence!

MODEL HISTORY
The Vauxhall Nova Sport is purely and unashamedly a homologation special with only 500 produced. It made no pretence to be the civilised roadgoing hot hatchback, instead it was aimed at the motorsport buyer offering a basis for a Group A racer or rally car and why so few genuine examples survive today! GM Dealer Sport was responsible to assist Vauxhall be more competitive and with involvement from Steve Thompson (Irmscher UK Dealer), Weber UK, ENEM Cams and Ashley Exhausts the Nova Sport pathed the way to success with the likes of Harry Hockley and a young Colin McRae at the wheel. Blending a base model shell, some SR parts and a screamer of an engine, this is a SR with teeth!

A rather special Nova quickly distinguished from the exclusive, striking, carefully co-ordinated ‘Sports’ livery and standard red performance Ashley exhaust silencer. All 500 homologation specials were finished in Polar White, (Code E452), and this authenticated example is exemplary in all exterior attributes. From the unmarked glossy rich paint, correct trim and detailed underside, this is not just a show winner on Group A rally stages! The early round lock rear tailgate, correct bumpers, gutter trim and even unobtainable sill decals are fitted, all documented in a photographic laminated restoration album. Supplying dealer number plates, rear screen sticker and even tax disc holder are fitted. This stonking example is fit for the finest of iconic car collections.

INTERIOR
Sparse and all the better for it! Body-hugging, rally-style front Recaro seats are trimmed in Brown Daytona Check SR interior, (Code 321), with no common wear to the outer bolster areas and tight material. The basic dark brown dashboard has no outer face vents, the starting procedure sticker and the correct two speed rotary fan dial. The early orange needle SR 6 dial sports instruments are in full working order and door speakers and tweeters remain fitted from a removed radio. The colour keyed carpet has been protected by genuine Vauxhall rubber floor mats and a pristine genuine GM rear parcel shelf remains fitted enclosing an immaculate boot area.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Sports Pack boosts the original 13SB engine found in the standard 1.3SR from 75 BHP to 93BHP slashing the 0-60 MPH to 8.5 seconds, some 2 seconds faster than a standard car! A matching numbers engine beautifully detailed and easily distinguished with the glorious sounding twin Weber carburettors and Irmscher inlet manifold. The massive history file also reveals the cylinder head was worked on by the legendary late Bill Blydenstein, the highly respected racing driving, Vauxhall performance expert and owner of Blydenstein Racing Limited. The 5-speed gearbox is precise with a progressive clutch action.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Expensive colour coded Compomotive Motorsport 6JX15 ET49 alloy wheels are fitted shod in Fulda Y2000 195/50 R15 tyres. The decals to the wheels have aged. The dual circuit, diagonally split, servo assisted brakes with discs upfront do a fair job of stopping the car with a firm application.

HISTORY FILE
This rare Nova Sport is confirmed by Vauxhall Heritage and has been checked against the original manifest held by Andrew Duerden, Vauxhall Motorsport & Heritage Archivist with accompanying letter. Registered by Vauxhall main dealer, Crookham Service Garage in Aldershot on the 1st August 1985, it was their own vehicle no doubt wanting to enjoy the exclusivity and fun of being one of 500 made! Subsequently sold by them in June 1987 to a Miss Vass for the sum of £4,900 as evidenced by the original sales invoice, this example has only had four former keepers from new. One previous long-term keeper was Mr Hookway, a member of staff at the supplying dealer and motorsport enthusiast. The massive history file shows the vehicle enjoying track events wearing the number 33, historic MOT certificates, neatly filed invoices and numerous other artefact’s tracing the car from new to the present day. A major mechanical and electrical service, brake overhaul, cambelt and water pump was carried out in October 2025 to ensure perfect operation. One of the rarest hot hatches of them all.

Ford’s genius marketing strategy of producing a model for every taste saw the GLS feature fully independent sports suspension to offer buyers a mid-range sports model over the standard GL. The Ford Rosso Red paintwork, (Code R 5) has a stunning deep glossy shine and the correct Mid Grey paintwork to the lower sections of the car remains exactly as Ford intended. Close scrutiny reveals noting other than a few frontal stone chips and markings, utterly insignificant and forgiven considering the originality. Garaged from new, the body panels are factory fitment and often prone weak areas such as wheel arches and sills are amazing and have never been repaired. The underside is absolutely original, unmolested and structural integrity is perfect with even factory stamps to suspension component still visible. Factory etched glass, genuine Ford lenses throughout, Carello headlamps and supplying dealer number plates and rear screen sticker all present. Even the ultra-scarce dealer-branded Doe Motors number plate lower trims have remained intact! A seldom seen offering in such incredible condition.

INTERIOR
The Strobe trim in Shadow Grey colour scheme, (Code LD), is spotlessly clean and the seats have firm bolsters and bases retaining correct shape. There is a small seam repair to the driver’s seat and the door cards have slight shrinkage to the fabric, a common occurrence. A small nick to the driver’s door card is visible. Protected by genuine Ford carpet mats, the colour-keyed velour carpet is immaculate and free from wear and the neutral tone headlining is perfect. The pristine dashboard has no cracks, distortion or fading, owing to garage storage and the conscientious long-term owners using a dash top cover. All switchgear and equipment operates perfectly, as does the original Ford ESRT32PS radio with joystick control. The immaculate luggage area has unmarked carpeting, an undamaged circular ply-board wheel cover, Ford jack and factory build sticker to the pristine boot floor. The 2.0 EFi engine is the robust ‘Pinto’ unit developing 118bhp and 160Nm of torque, achieving a top speed of 118mph and 0-60mph in 9.3 seconds. The 14” X 5½” steel wheels wear the correct GLS trims, unique to the model. Having been sourced as new old stock items by the current owner, the trims are as new and even the Ford packaging has been kept! Matching replacement premium Uniroyal 195/60 R14 tyres have plenty of tread and the spare wheel wears the original 1988 Uniroyal Rallye tyre, unused and still with coloured banding! The dual line servo assisted G-Valve brakes with ventilated 10.5” front discs and rear drums operate perfectly having enjoyed conscientious maintenance.

HISTORY FILE
The one you’ve been waiting for! This Sierra has been owned by Steve, Operations Manager at KGF Classic Cars, for the last seven years. Over the years, the car has appeared on our social media channels resulting in many enquiries asking to buy the car which Steve has always declined, until now! The car was supplied new by Ford Main Dealer, Doe Motors of Maldon in Essex, and registered new on the 18th April 1988. The first owner, Mr Gillman, owned the car for around a year when in 1989 it returned to the supplying dealer to be sold again. The used vehicle order form and sales invoice from Doe Motors made out to second owner, Mr Cameron, is in the history file. The car was put into dry storage in around the year 2000 following the owner passing and his wife feeling unable to part with her late husband’s car. It was only in 2018 and upon Mrs Cameron’s passing that the car was discovered with just over 40,000 miles on the clock. At this point, KGF Classic Cars were offered the car and upon its arrival, Steve insisted it was not to be put on sale, because he was having it! After full recommissioning, the car was used regularly in dry weather and has been thoroughly enjoyed for the last seven years. The Sierra has given sterling service, attended shows and even being used on family holidays. The car was also displayed on the test track at the 40th anniversary celebration of the launch of the Sierra in 2022 at the Ford of Britain Dunton Campus.

A major service was carried out in March 2025 and cambelt renewal in September 2025.
