Factory Options; Two-coat metallic paint. Dealer Options; Vauxhall Mudflaps.

EXTERIOR
This wonderfully nostalgic Vauxhall Cavalier Mk3, a once common sight on UK roads and instantly familiar to many, is now seldom seen and this example remains in beautiful original condition having covered just 20,868 miles from new! Finished in factory original Haze Blue Metallic, (Code E 261), a cost option when ordered new, the paintwork boasts a wonderful bright uniform shine and polished finish. Only very light markings and carefully touched in chips are visible and common troublesome areas such as the rear wheel arches are original and in great shape. Garaged from new, all factory panels are damage free and the superb underside is free from excess applied underseal to allow easy inspection of the fantastic structural integrity. The factory glass, GM Carello headlights, badges and trim sections are in excellent order and radio security stickers and ‘Made in West Germany’ rear window label remain. The condition of this unmolested and cherished Cavalier is certain to impress even the most ardent scrutineer. Retro motoring at its best!

INTERIOR
A spotlessly clean, functional and period Vauxhall interior is sure to delight fans of the Griffin badged cars! The original Matlock Velour trim in Blue, (Code 111), is in very good order with no rips or worn bolsters. The matching colour keyed door cards and headlining are pristine, and the fleece carpets are preserved. Prominent natural veins to the steering wheel and gear knob are an obvious trait of such a low mileage example. All controls, switch gear and displays function except the radio. The immaculate boot floor has the factory insulating panel, PDI chalk scribe and the original polystyrene moulding holds the jack and wheel brace. A comfortable modern classic remaining just as it did when the MK3 Cavalier ‘Sierra Beater’ was launched in 1988.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This Cavalier GL features the desired 2.0i 1998cc OHC four-cylinder engine with automatic choke developing 115bhp at 5200rpm and 175Nm of torque at 2600rpm. This example having covered just 20,868 miles drives perfectly and the quiet yet free-revving engine is a delight. The engine bay is spotlessly clean, unaltered and displays original panel stampings, plates and stickers and factory protective wax. The five-speed manual transmission is tight and precise.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original 14in wheels wear the correct GL specification hubcaps which are in remarkable condition with only a few markings. Vauxhall experts will note the 14in wheels and hub caps as opposed the otherwise identical 13in fitment for lower engine models as well as the square as opposed to the rounded griffin badges on the hub caps as fitted to the earlier models. Premium brand Uniroyal 195/60 R14 tyres have covered just a few hundred miles having been fitted new in 2021. Diagonally split dual circuit brakes with direct-action servo assistance feature 9.3in front discs and 7.9in rear drums to bring the car to a steady and assured halt.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 31st January 1989, this exceptional example has covered just 20,868 miles from new and was one of the very first MK3 Cavalier’s sold on a F prefix registration plate, the new model only having been launched three months prior. The car was supplied directly from leasing company, Jessups Fleet and Commercial in Romford, and was believed to have been ordered for the wife of a wealthy businessman. At roughly a year old the car was sold as an approved used car by Gates Group Ford to the second owner who kept the car until 2020. KGF Classic Cars sold the car to a collector in 2021 and we are delighted the car has found it’s way back to us, ready for the next lucky owner to appreciate.

The original Vauxhall vehicle literature pack contains all handbooks, radio guide and dealership point of sale paraphernalia along with the service book with eight entries, and all servicing and maintenance is fully up to date. Two keys are present including the original working Vauxhall torch key and there is even an Edition No 1 Cavalier range brochure from 1989! This beautifully preserved and unmolested Cavalier is a credit to its long-term custodian and subsequent keepers. Capable, practical and comfortable retro motoring, a guaranteed hit at shows.

Ford Puma 1.7i 16v

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A first production Ford Puma 1.7i 16v with one owner and 17,476 miles.

MODEL HISTORY
Towards the end of 1993 a group of designers from Ford’s Small and Medium Vehicle Centre were invited to present ideas for an exciting new coupe based on the Fiesta supermini. The Puma was the first small coupe Ford had ever made. By adding stiffer suspension, wider front and rear tracks, a close ratio gearbox and a brand new Yamaha-derived 1.7 litre engine, the team produced a car for the enthusiastic driver. The Puma was launched in March 1997 and hit UK showrooms in the July. It was an instant hit with the motoring press and its New Edge design language and the iconic television commercial featuring Steve McQueen and scenes from the film Bullitt helped its trendy image.

EQUIPMENT
Headlamp system with three projector lamps, tinted glass, variable ratio power assisted steering, anti-lock brakes, traction control, driver airbag, pyrotechnic front seat belt tensioners, electric height adjustable driver’s seat, perimeter alarm with Safeguard System immobiliser, remote central locking, aluminium finish interior, leather sports steering wheel, digital clock, power windows, stereo/cassette Model 5000. Factory Options; Cuirass Metallic Paint, air conditioning, electrically operated and heated door mirrors. Dealer Options; Tailored Puma carpet mats, Ford locking wheel nuts.

EXTERIOR
This extremely early car rolled off the production line on the 1st July 1997, the very month the Puma was launched in the UK! In addition to the kudos of being such an early car, and one of the oldest remaining in existence, further amazing credentials include one owner from new, 17,476 miles and total originality. The factory optional paintwork in very rare Cuirass Metallic, (Code J5), presents beautifully with a highly polished uniform finish. Incredible for a Puma, the sills, underside and wheel arches are original with no repair work undertaken and only a few marks, a true testament to the garage storage from new. Even the one-piece Ford exhaust system remains fitted! The one and only owner remarked that the car has only ever been a weekend toy and has never seen rain! Supplying dealer branded number plates and rear screen sticker remain, and all trim, glass and lights are immaculate. Almost unheard of in this condition.

INTERIOR
The first Puma’s offered just one option for trim and upholstery to the two front sports seat, twin rear bucket seats and matching door trim which was Alchemy Blue with Silverstone fabric trim, (Code VS). The interior throughout is quite incredible and could almost be described as showroom condition. The upholstery is pristine with no visible wear, as are the door cards, carpets and headlining. The Puma mats front and rear remain fitted and the conscientious owner even placed two further sets of mats over the top of them! The fascia with the aluminium surround is as new and all equipment, controls and gauges are seamless in operation, even the air conditioning is ice cold. As good now as it was in 1997!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The utterly brilliant Puma’s 1.7-litre Yamaha-derived unit was the first Ford to use variable camshaft timing, (VCT). The power delivery is incredibly flexible and energetic with 85 per cent of peak torque being available at just 1500rpm. The air induction system is tuned for a raspier sound and combined with a free revving engine this power plant is immensely rewarding. The engine bay is totally standard, spotlessly clean with all plates, labels and stickers intact. The sublime close-ratio sports gearbox is precise and perfectly weighted. Weighing just 1,039kg, this is a real driver’s car and was able to upstage far more expensive sports cars when launched.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Distinctive ‘Fan Blade’ 6x15in light alloy wheels are unrestored and in remarkable condition with no kerb damage and just a few miniscule chips visible only upon very close scrutiny. Correct Pirelli P6000 tyres in size 195/50 R15 have excellent tread remaining. Servo assisted with vented front discs, anti-locking and Electronic Brake Force Distribution provide safe stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
A June 1997 built car, this example rolled off the production line on the 1st July, as confirmed by obtained Ford factory records, making it one of the UK month of launch cars. The car was supplied by Ford Main Dealers, Doe Motors Ltd of Witham in Essex, and date of registration was the 1st August 1997, the first day of R registration. Only a tiny handful of R prefix Puma’s remain today. The first and only owner was a Mr and Mrs Southgate who are named on the single owner V5 and purchase documentation including the new vehicle order form and sales invoice confirming the price paid of £15,331.92. The car has only ever been used as a dry use weekend car and strictly garaged at all times, and the pampered existence the car has led is clearly evident and a credit to the owner.

A full service was carried out in September 2024 using genuine Ford parts and a cambelt change was also carried out in September 2024 at main dealer, TC Harrison Ford in Peterborough, with supporting invoices and service book entry. There is a neat folder of invoices and every MOT from the first in 2000 to fully verify the incredibly low mileage. Further insight into the true enthusiast ownership is the owner’s membership of the Puma Drivers Club with all collectable Ford produced magazines kept. The only owner has provided a letter for the history file explaining his fastidious upkeep. There is also an Edition 1 1997 launch brochure and separate collector launch booklet. The original service booklet, owner’s manual, radio guides and associated point of sale literature remain in the Ford wallet, along with both keys and dealer fob. A special piece of Ford Heritage, a must have for the Ford collector.

Mrs Berry’s son contacted KGF Classic Cars to discuss the sale of this family owned and ultra-low mileage classic and arrangement were made to inspect the car with a view to recover it. Immediately upon inspection, it was very apparent just how preserved and original the car was after 21 years of perfect storage. Zinc-galvanised steel body, hydraulic impact tubes, integrated fog lights, Bosch halogen headlights, quartz analogue clock, window lifters, heating controls, brake pad wear, brake warning and seat-belt warning lights, tachometer, cigarette lighter, fuel/oil level gauges, oil temperature/pressure gauge, hazard warning lights, lockable stowage compartments, engine compartment light, tool roll. Factory Options; Turbo Look, Locking Differential 40%, Fuchs wheel centres painted white, wheel caps with coloured Porsche crest, sports seats with electrical height adjustment, luggage compartment velour carpet, cassette-radio Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 46, Hi-Fi amplifier. Accessories; Speedster indoor car cover, 911 carpet mats.

EXTERIOR
The crowning highlight of the discontinued G model generation and three decades after the 1954 356 Speedster, this rare UK RHD C16 911 Speedster is a prized collectors piece. Finished in iconic Guards Red, (Code L80K), the factory paint has a rich, deep gloss shine thanks to perfect dehumidified storage and a 911 Speedster car cover protecting it fully. Admirers will easily spot the unique double-bubble colour coded polyurethane tonneau moulding to conceal the lightweight roof and Porsche aficionados will note the exposed aerial on the nearside wing as the unique steeply raked windscreen was unable to accommodate an integrated radio aerial. The optional ‘Werks-Turbo-Look’ (factory wide body Turbo Look, WTL), shouts 1980’s supercar and all plastics, rubbers and trim are unmarked. All glass is original including the unique single-piece side windows without quarterlights and the front screen has minor delamination to the drivers lower edge. The underside, wheel arch apertures and all shuts reaffirm this example is virtually as good as the day it rolled out of Porsche’s Stuttgart factory in 1989.

INTERIOR
Being largely hand assembled, the Porsche G Model has a quality feel with meticulous attention to detail and this ultra-low mileage example upholds that notion perfectly. Trimmed in Black Leather, (Code LT), the optional sports seats with red piping offer perfect support and even the delicate piping has no wear. All interior materials are factory fresh and even the needles to all the working dials are bright red, thanks to perfect indoor storage. The stitched leather sports steering wheel is beautiful and the pedal rubbers unworn. The silk velour carpets are protected by carpet mats and the front screen ‘check oil’ and glove box ‘heater control’ stickers remain attached. To achieve a DIN curb weight of just 1220kg many luxury items were deleted from the Speedster such as electric windows and central locking and to ensure sufficient visibility through the cut-down windscreen, the seat rails were dropped by 20mm. The front luggage compartment is pristine with an unused tool kit, jack, brace, Porsche tyre pressure gauge and clear plastic tyre change sheet. The important correct factory code sticker, as duplicated in the Guarantee and Maintenance booklet, is attached to the bonnet lid. Without doubt, one of the best remaining examples of this iconic thoroughbred.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A matching numbers all-alloy, air-cooled, normally aspirated Flat 6 with single overhead camshafts per bank, two valves per cylinder and dry-sump lubrication produces 228bhp. This propels the car from 0-62mph in 6.0secs and on to an exhilarating top speed of 152mph. Comprehensive history including a recent visit to Porsche Centre Cambridge in July 2024 for a major service, ensures optimal driver enjoyment and reliability. The engine compartment is concours with components spotlessly clean and original stickers, plates and tags attached. The Getrag G50 5-speed gearbox with Borg Warner synchromesh and single-plate hydraulic clutch operates perfectly.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Forged aluminium Fuchs wheels measuring 7 x 16-inches front and 9 x 16-inches rear are shod in premium Continental Sport Contact 205/55 ZR and 245/45 ZR tyres respectively with ample tread. Part of the Porsche Exclusive programme they are optionally finished in Grand Prix White with the wheel caps in coloured Porsche crest. Power assisted, internally ventilated and cross-drilled discs front and rear with pristine black callipers with the Porsche inscription stop the car quickly.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Merlin Chesterfield Porsche on the 1st September 1989 to Mr Taylor, this is one of just 2,103 Speedsters produced of which 129 were RHD and only 64 were to UK `C16′ specification. This prime collector example has covered just 4,178 documented miles with 13 dealer visits. The last being in July 2024 to Porsche Centre Cambridge at 4,168 miles for a major service to include brake fluid change with an accompanying invoice for £3331,57. Such was the appeal of this rare car, the dealer contacted the owner while at the facility to ask if it could be included in their Destination Porsche site launch along with five other exclusive high value Porsche models. As the star attraction the service Manager of 32 years wrote to the owner after the event stating that this is ‘one of the best examples he has ever come across,’ the letter is included in the history file. Last sold in 2016 as an Approved Porsche by Porsche Centre Leeds and supplied with all handbooks, manuals, Speedster supplements and spare keys, this example will appeal to the most discerning Porsche collector.

HISTORY FILE
This RS2000 Custom was manufactured in July 1979 and first registered on the 1st August 1979 to Mr Paul Roadknight. Mr Roadknight ordered his dream car from his local RS Ford Dealer, Bristol Street Motors in Birmingham. After many years of hard work and saving he took the plunge and haggled a deal for £4,294.18 which represented a discount of £347.22 and a further saving of £135.01 by deleting the alloy wheels, later reinstated! The car was used sparingly for the first five years as evidenced by the MOT history until an incident caused him to park the car up in his garage for 36 years and never use it again. On a visit to his local shops, Mr Roadknight noticed three men surrounding his car so quickly returned to his pride and joy to drive home only to notice he was being followed. Having made a long detour, he eventually returned home, parked the car in the garage and paranoid about it being stolen, tragically never used it again. Discovered by an RS Owners Club Member in 2021, (photos exist in the history file of the discovery with it covered in dust), with one of the photos including Mr Roadknight now in his eighties. The car has now been fully recommissioned and on its first outing at the 2023 Lakes Tour, won Car of the Tour! Documentation with the car includes the original Registration Document, order form, new vehicle Invoice, Cadulac guarantee certificate, service book, handbooks, radio instructions and old MOT certificates. More recently, a letter from the owners friend and invoices relating to the recommission. Representing a rare opportunity to own an original low mileage and highly collectable sporting Ford.
