EXTERIOR
This fabulously frugal yet fun Nissan Micra epitomizes everything it was designed for, simplicity and basic economy motoring from a bygone era when even a passenger door mirror was a cost considered option! Once Britain’s best-selling one litre hatchback this prime example is finished in factory original Blue, (Code BG5). The paint finish looks amazing with a deep polished shine and only a few minuscule marks after 36 years. All factory fitted panels are straight with perfect panel seams and the underside and wheel arch apertures are very clean thanks to minimal use and indoor storage. The wrap around bumpers, colour keyed radiator and all trim is largely unmarked and the glass is number plate etched. Resplendently retro and utterly ordinary!

INTERIOR
Truly astonishing and near perfect in condition and function. The higher grade Grey Tricot seat trim, (Code G), is in pristine condition and entirely commensurate with 8,355 miles from new. The interior trim and door cards are in amazing condition as are the carpets and headlining. Remarkably the often-discarded sunroof stowage bag and sunshade panel remain with the car. The wonderfully basic dashboard houses a full array of working warning lights to detect such things as oil pressure and low brake fluid and the dealer optional Philips AC760 radio cassette functions. The boot area looks virtually unused with a bagged pouch for the wheel brace and handle and factory paint stamp marking on the spotless boot floor. Even the spare wheel plyboard cover is undamaged! The Micra may only be 12ft long but the cleverly shaped interior affords ample room for adults and their luggage for reliable retro outings!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Tremendous fuel economy and unfaltering reliability are assured with this 988cc engine producing 50bhp and 72Nm of torque. First flick of the key and the instantly recognisable engine note will stir up nostalgia and the driving characteristics of this fun little car which will certainly draw a smile! The under-bonnet area is very clean with all stickers and bulkhead chassis number stamping intact. The 4-speed gearbox is light, precise and an absolute joy to use.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory fitted steel wheels with delightfully miniscule Micra chrome centre caps are in immaculate order and brand-new premium Michelin MX 145 R12 tyres were fitted in July 2024 at a cost of £380. The spare wheel remains shod in the unused factory Dunlop tyre with chalk bands still visible. The servo assisted braking system with front disc brakes do an admirable job of stopping this car quickly and safely.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 13th June 1988 by Nissan Main Dealer, Surrell (Cambridge Limited), this delightful Micra has remained in the same family from new and covered a genuine 8,355 miles. Registered to husband and then wife, Mr and Mrs Berry, the car was then passed into ownership of their son Stephen Berry. A new car sales invoice confirms the price paid of £4,657.76 less part exchange allowance for a Nissan Sunny! In 2003, Mrs Berry ceased to drive the vehicle and thankfully had the foresight to ensure the car was stored in her dry, well-ventilated garage where it remained until July 2024. Mrs Berry’s son contacted KGF Classic Cars to discuss the sale of this family owned and ultra-low mileage classic and arrangement were made to inspect the car with a view to recover it. Immediately upon inspection, it was very apparent just how preserved and original the car was after 21 years of perfect storage. During the process of full recommissioning including major service, fuel system and ignition service, brake overhaul, cambelt and water pump, the car was found to have never been subject to structural repair work and still wore its factory fitted panels and original tyres!

The handbook, spare keys and a large file of invoices and previous MOT certificates form the history file along with an original sales brochure. Very difficult to find better and such great reliable retro fun!

Nissan Sunny GTI-R GNN14

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

One of just 103 UK RHD cars, a bog-standard Nissan Sunny GTI-R GNN14.

MODEL HISTORY
Following the introduction on the N14 generation of Sunny in the early 1990’s, Nissan turned its attention to Motorsport with the hope of injecting some desirability and excitement into the brand. The Nissan Sunny/Pulsar GTI-R was developed under model name GNN14 and after producing the minimum 5000 road cars required for Group A homologation (just before the production requirement was lowered to 2500 units), Nissan entered the car in the Group A category of the FIA World Rally Championship as a “Works” factory team under Nissan Motorsport Europe. Much tribulation was caused from the unrealistic immediate success expected by head office which was not forthcoming, and Nissan completely abandoned the GTI-R campaign in 1992 after competing in only nine rallies. Of the road going cars, just 771 Sunny GTI-R’s were produced of which only 103 were in right-hand drive with only 27 made in Red.

EQUIPMENT
Performance tuned chassis, body-coloured sports bumpers, sleek cooling ducts in bonnet, hood air intake, large tailgate spoiler, colour coded side skirts, wheel arch extensions, mud flaps, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), ATTESA (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System All-Terrain) 4WD system, LSD (Limited Slip Differential), oil temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, turbo boost gauge, 9000rpm tachometer, sports seats, power windows, auto door lock, power mirrors, 2 speakers, digital clock. Factory options; Nissan stereo/cassette. Dealer accessories; Tailored Nissan floor mats.

Wheel arch apertures and door shuts are very clean. Some of the easily identifiable exterior features to denote a UK RHD Sunny include the boot lid surround to accommodate a UK numberplate as well as non-colour coded door mirrors. Virtually impossible to find in this unspoiled state, this super rare road going rally car is a serious performance machine and one for the WRC fanatic!

INTERIOR
To climb inside the interior of this wonderfully kept example is sheer delight in both condition and the car unspoilt state. Precisely as it left the factory, there has been no modification whatsoever. The sports velour seats in GTi Black, (Code G), are in superb order with firm bolster retaining correct shape. Matching door cards are undamaged and grey tufted carpets are still protected by tailored Nissan floor mats. Some of the interior features to denote a UK RHD Sunny include speedometer reading in KM and miles, boost and oil pressure gauges reading in PSI not Bar, digital clock below the tachometer and importantly there is no umbrella holder which is correct. All functions, controls and gauges operate perfectly including the original Nissan stereo. The boot area is pristine the parcel shelf and carpet intact. Full wheel changing equipment is present as is the original toolkit. Wonderfully unspoilt.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

With full-time ATTESA 4WD, blistering performance from the 217bhp allows a top speed of 144mph and 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds quicker than an Escort Cosworth! The spotlessly clean and totally standard engine bay displays factory plates, stickers, under-bonnet labels and panel stampings. The five-speed gearbox is light and has the sturdy sporting feel. The perfect opportunity to experience an unmolested Sunny GTi-R performing at its absolute best.

Registered new on 25th November 1992 and supplied by Landes Du Marche Garage in Guernsey, this amazing Sunny GTI-R has covered just 61,274 miles from new. As denoted by the chassis number, this example is a Phase B Series 1 car and the 18-digit model number designates region letter E for Europe B (England, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta). The model number allows easy decoding of the cars data to fully verify this as a genuine Sunny GTI-R. Of the 103 RHD cars produced, just 27 were made in Red.

A comprehensive service history accompanies this fascinating rare car with the original service booklet and filed invoices evidencing 27 services, the majority of which were carried out at Nissan Main Dealers. The car has covered less than 300 miles since last service and the large history folder holds Nissan Dealer and specialist service invoices and comprehensive MOT records. This UK supplied Nissan Patrol GR was ordered in range topping SE specification and in the huge five door, seven seat body shape. Date of first registration was the 23rd April 1998 and the vehicle has covered a fully verified 46,478 miles from new. The comprehensive history file reveals a high level of maintenance with the service booklet containing 16 stamped entries, nine of which are Nissan main dealer. There is a huge file of corresponding Nissan and independent specialist service invoices and the last service was in February 2020. In addition to the stamped service history and folder of invoices is a detailed log of maintenance from a workshop specialist detailing routine renewal of fluids and oils including filters, transfer box and differential oil. The mileage is further verified by absolutely every MOT certificate carried out since the very first in 2001. Completing the history file is an original Nissan service manual supplement, Patrol range sales brochure and two Nissan keys. The previous owner, a wealthy property developer, purchased the vehicle in January 2019 at which point the car had covered 34,000 miles. He exploited the enormous capabilities of the Patrol during his personal house renovation whilst taking careful steps to ensure the preserved nature of the vehicle was upheld. Hugely practical, capable and deliciously retro, this Nissan Patrol is without question one of the best surviving examples wanting for nothing other the next appreciative new owner.
