The box is present with this car. The vehicle presentation pack incudes the Ford performance document wallet containing all handbooks including both the Focus RS Owner’s Manual Supplement and the additional orange Mountune Owner’s supplement, issued uniquely with RS Heritage Editions. Both original remote keys have Lookers Ford keyrings and even the glass polishing cloth remains unused in the packet. A very special Otto-Models 1:18 scale Focus RS model car has been specially commissioned by the owner to replicate this exact RS Heritage Edition, making it one of one and even with the registration RS15WOW matching! EXTERIOR
The Rallye Sport Pedigree only existed for a short period with the Mk2 RS Mexico and this highly commended and original example is one of a handful of true survivors having had minimal bodywork known to exist within the RS Owners Club. Finished in desirable Signal Yellow, (Code 9), it wears its mainly original coat of paint with absolute pride showing age related marks and imperfections picked up over 48 years of pampered use with enthusiasts. These include some paint thinning from over exorbitant polishing and touched in stone chips. Well known on the show circuit, it has collected some noteworthy awards at both Regional and National RS Days and recently took part on the Cumbria Lakes Tour and at the 50th Anniversary of the Mk2 Ford Escort RS Mexico. Ford glass has number plate etching and even the front wings are factory fitment and date stamped! The underside remains untouched, incredibly clean and factory correct. All trim and decals are perfect and the distinctive squared-up nose styling and front air dam informs knowledgeable onlookers to the scarcity of this model only built between January 1976 and July 1978. Utterly gorgeous and a real showstopper amongst a field of restored cars.

INTERIOR
The interior of this RS Mexico offers simple sporting pleasure. The twin high back reclining Scheel front seats are still trimmed in their original Black fabric with head restraints and are in amazing condition with no loose material. The carpets, washable black headlining and door cards are all unmarked and like the rest of the car, no reproduction parts here! All the gauges and warning lights function correctly with the ‘RS’ logo within the five white needle instrument cluster reminding the driver how special this RS Ford is. The padded dash has no cracks and the simulated leather RS sports steering wheel still has visible veins, even the green BSI Approved stickers to the seatbelt buckles remain attached! The boot area is absolutely original with the tool kit within the black bag, basic Hardura mat and small bracket spot-welded onto the boot floor to hold the spare wheel strap. Wonderful.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Powered by its matching numbers 1593cc OHC unit, everything mechanical performs faultlessly on this standard Pinto engine. Crisp performance and a wonderful exhaust note is created through the standard looking stainless steel replacement exhaust system still with the four branch into two branch RS exhaust manifold. A top speed of 106mph and 0-60mph in 10.2 seconds is quoted. Lifting the bonnet reveals stunning originality with chassis plate, body plate, untouched chassis stamp to offside front reinforced strut mount and aforementioned date stamped front wings in place! The standard close ratio 4-speed robust gearbox offers short and precise gear changes. Delightful.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This stunning example is fitted with the standard Bright Silver RS Mexico steel 5.5x13in sculptured sports wheels in immaculate condition with unmarked Black RS caps. Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tyres measuring 175/70 R13 are fitted with excellent tread. Vacuum servo assisted front disc brakes and rear drum brakes pull the car up to a safe halt.

HISTORY FILE
With only around 2,500 Mk2 Ford Mexico’s made, (source Ford RS Owners Club), this car represents a rare breed! Positioned awkwardly in price and specification between a 1600 Sport and an RS2000 when new, the Mexico had a very short production run and therefore is now a highly sought-after model amongst collectors. This incredible example was built at the Saarlouis assembly plant in January 1977 and supplied by Grays of Guilford on the 18th March 1977 to Mr Philip Stanley. A passionate car enthusiast, he kept a detailed log of all maintenance and repairs for 23 years until selling the car in June 2000. Amazingly, each of the subsequent four owners has continued this log including owner, John Hughes, a previous Mk2 Registrar for RS Owners Club. Displayed at many events including RSOC National Day, Ford Fair, AVO Day and numerous Lakes Tours, this example is well known within the RS Owners Club and highly respected. It is a very reluctant sale by the current RSOC member to make way for another Mk2 Ford Escort. A thick file of historic invoices, previous MOT certificates handbooks and spare keys awaits presentation to the next lucky custodian who will understand fully this remains one of the few authentic survivors in a confusing market of fakes.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 4th October 1996 by Henlys Ford of Farnborough, this spectacular Special Edition Mondeo Verona has covered a warranted 27,486 miles from new with just two owners. The amazing history file begins with the new vehicle order form and subsequent sales invoice made out to first owner, Mr Page, whereby the purchase price was £12,793.93. All payment receipts and vehicle point of sale documents have been kept. Mr Page was a newly retired engineer, and as such, the Mondeo was a retirement gift from Mr and Mrs Page to themselves and a photograph outside their home with the car on handover day is a wonderful memento in the history file. A large file of service and maintenance invoices as well as all MOT certificates dating back to the first in 1999 is accompanied by a highly detailed maintenance log dating from when the car was new up to 2017. The log was kept as Mr Page, being a retired engineer, carried out much of the vehicle upkeep himself and wanted this to support the service history. The car was owned by Mr Page until September 2022 and there has been just one owner since. Mr Blake purchased the car for nostalgia reasons as his father owned Mondeo’s in the 1990’s and he and his father wanted to recreate journeys they took at the time. The fastidious upkeep has continued with the second owner who now has decided to sell the car with the upcoming birth of his first child and him feeling he will not have the time to give the car the care it deserves.

Absolutely all servicing is fully up to date and since April 2025 alone, the car has had cambelt and water pump, gearbox oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid, new exhaust, brake overhaul and engine service. Completing the history file is the full book packs, four Ford keys including the red master and dealer fobs, and an original Mondeo Verona range sales brochure. KGF Classic Cars are privileged to offer this exceptional example that is a true credit to its two owners from new.

HISTORY FILE
Date of registration of this late 90 Spec example was the 4th July 1991 by Ford Main Dealer, Central Motor Company (Leicester) Ltd. Ownership of the car has been traced right back and the previous owner bought the car in 2016, the lady keeper prior to him having owned the car for around 20 years. The history file is humongous and dates back to when the car was new with masses of paperwork including MOT records dating back to the first in 1994. There are also service book records since the first service carried out in late 1991. Part of the impressive vehicle history is that the car was featured with the previous owner in the April 2018 issue of ClassicFord magazine whereby a prime example was required for a four-page ‘Buying Tips’ article. This very car was used in the feature and several copies of the magazine are in the folder. All handbooks are included as well as both seats of keys with alarm fobs and a Ford range brochure from 1990.

In November 2025, the car was serviced and the cambelt and water pump were replaced. Now offered for sale due to the fastidious owner downsizing his collection of classic 1980’s cars, motorbikes and iconic memorabilia such as an unused Sinclair C5! Look no further for a beautifully cherished unspoilt example ready to use and impress at classic car shows and retro outings!

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 13th August 2007 by Ford Main Dealer, Ringways Motor Group in Doncaster, the car was purchased by a Miss Flavell who is the first and only owner. The car was purchased for use in retirement and as is common, the usage was regular albeit minimal, and it was kept in the garage when not in use. Only upon the owner’s passing in 2025 has the car become available and subsequently was offered to KGF Classic Cars. Recognising the first generation KA’s fast diminishing on our roads and the scarce availability of pristine low mileage cars, we are delighted to present this car ready for its second appreciate owner. A service, full inspection and MOT have been carried out in November 2025 and all maintenance is up to date. Both keys and handbook pack are present along with a paperwork file and original sales brochure for the 2007 model year Ka. In addition, a Ford Main Dealer service and maintenance log allows you to track the verified mileage before Miss Flavell’s local garage, Woodman Service Station Limited (that was incorporated in 1965 and now closed in 2024), maintained the car.

Debate over the pronunciation of the name Ka has continued since launch and whether it is to be said with a long or short “a”, or with the letters pronounced separately. Even Ford’s confused press office has used all three, but the official Ford stance is with a short “a”! Whichever way you may wish to say it, the first examples are now approaching 30 years old and the humble Ford Ka represents a superb value entry into classic car ownership, even more so with this incredible one-owner example with just 9,854 miles from new! Be quick before everyone catches on!

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 21st April 1980 by Ford Main Dealer, Gilbert Rice Ltd in Horsham, the first and only owner was a Miss Histed. Purchased later in life as her first car, Miss Histed decided she wanted to start driving, and with a mild disability requiring her to have a modified clutch pedal she passed her test. The car was always garaged and used sparingly as Miss Histed felt that she was never overly fond of being a motorist, despite the freedom it offered. In the 1980’s she decided she no longer wished to drive but did not want to part with the car just in case and so it remained, in the garage. In 1996 she initially made the decision to sell the car and took it for MOT which it passed. However, she changed her mind and decided not to sell the car. The exact same scenario happened in 2007 where again the car passed the MOT but she once more decided she could not part with it, despite her Nephew now being involved and writing to the Fiesta Club GB asking for advice on what to do with the car! This letter and the reply from the Club Chairman are in the history folder. In 2025, KGF Classic Cars were contacted by said Nephew who told us about the car and that it was now definitely for sale. Intrigued by the one owner, low mileage credentials and indeed the ownership story, we made the journey to inspect the car in its garage and upon first sight we could not believe our eyes. Even covered in dust after many years of storage, it was immediately clear just how preserved and untouched the car had been. The car came back to headquarters where it has been a real labour of love undertaking the recommissioning. Meticulous attention to detail has been observed with full recommissioning to the engine, braking, ignition and fuel systems. Care has been taken to retain as many original and genuine Ford parts as possible within the constraints of safety. The car now drives just as you would expect of the mere 8,134 miles and the experience is likened to that of driving a Mk1 Fiesta within it’s first year on the road!

The handbook contains service stamps in the early 1980’s from the supplying dealership, and the spare keys with supplying dealer leather key fob and all handbooks are present. A large folder holds receipts for the recommissioning work and there is even an original Ford range brochure from 1980! Only physical inspection and test drive of this incredible example allows you to appreciate just how special this pinnacle survivor is.

HISTORY FILE
Produced in August 1988 and registered new on the 3rd October 1988 by Ford Main Dealer, A.W.&.D. Hammond of Halesworth, the car was registered to a Mr Bevington who is noted on the new car sales invoice in the history file. The invoice breaks down the factory cost options and the total price paid of £11,953.72. Several invoices from the supply dealership show that the car returned to them for servicing and maintenance up to 2006 with the car going to independent specialists thereafter. In October 2025 the car was serviced using genuine Ford parts and the cambelt and water pump also renewed at this point. One of the three former keepers from new was detailing specialist Mark Stewart. On the hunt for a special Ford he stumbled across this 1989 XR3i cabriolet with just 9k miles on the clock and was blown away by its originality. Not replacing anything, he simply detailed every square inch to get as clean he could. The results are simply outstanding with one of the highlights and his proudest moment, winning Waxstock 2018. The car has also been featured on the prestigious Meguiar’s Club Showcase at the NEC Classic Car Show and has subsequently remained within a car collection since.

All handbooks are included along with the original service book as well as a Ford range brochure from 1988. With just 16,975 miles from new and in original condition, this car will appeal to the Blue Oval collector looking for one of the finest preserved examples.
