EXTERIOR

INTERIOR
A showroom fresh and very well specified interior is bristling with all the appurtenances of modern motoring such as head up display, keyless entry and start and navigation to name just a few. The Custom Leather-Wrapped Interior Package is standard only on the 4LT model and features beautiful and supremely comfortable two-tone Ebony and Cashmere upholstery as well as extensive leather wrapping to the dashboard and interior trim with contrast stitching. The iconic Crossed Flags are embroidered head restraints as part of the package. Absolutely all equipment operates seamlessly including the ice-cold air conditioning, heated electric seats and Navigation which comes complete with the US and European map discs. Tailored carpets mats have been fitted from new and the super low mileage has seen this interior protected impeccably.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
With exception of the Z06, the 6.2 litre LS3 V8 all-aluminium unit is the most powerful Corvette engine ever and puts out ‘Big Block’ levels of power at 430hp and 574Nm of torque in standard form. This Corvette is a true supercar, capable of 190mph and 0-60mph in around 4.3 seconds! An additional 6hp is gained with the factory optional dual-mode performance exhaust which reduces restriction and provides a more aggressive exhaust note through the use of butterfly valves on the two inner tailpipes. The engine bay itself is a spotless work of art and proudly displays the Corvette LS3 lettering on each rocker cover. The desirable short throw six-speed manual transmission features triple and double cone synchronisers and Computer Aided Gear Selection (CAGS), a device factory designed to only allow direct shift from 1st to 4th gear when certain conditions are met. This was to avoid the US gas guzzler tax by suppressing rapid acceleration, however a widely accepted CAGS bypass has been supplied by specialist Eurovettes and fitted.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Fitted as a factory upgrade, Competition Grey aluminium five split-spoke wheels are pristine with no kerb damage whatsoever and immaculate crossed flags centre caps. Matching Falken Azenis FK510 tyres of size 245/40 ZR18 front and 285/35 ZR19 rear were fitted brand new in 2019 and selected by the previous owner after extensive research and reviews. The factory optional Magnetic Selective Ride Control offers Tour and Sport ride modes controlled via a centre console rotary switch and part of this option is larger crossed-drilled brake discs which along with the enormous Corvette branded calipers are easily seen through the attractive alloy spoke apertures.

HISTORY FILE
A Certificate of Origin issued by the General Motors Corporation and Subsidiaries confirms this Corvette C6 4LT was registered new on the 25th February 2008 by main dealer, Walters Elkland Chevrolet, inc. of Pennsylvania, and was exported to the UK just three months later via Canada, with full importation and UK registration on the 27th May 2008. The car has enjoyed almost inconceivable fastidious ownership throughout and has covered a verified 20,550 miles from new, a significant portion of which was during tours of Italy with the first UK owner. The history file is quite remarkable with the full book pack containing absolutely all manuals, spare keys and point of sale literature as well as the service record containing 14 entries, the most recent in April 2021 with just 14 miles covered since. A huge folder contains many Corvette specialist invoices and there is a meticulously detailed maintenance log recording every element of the vehicle maintenance even down to exact specification and quantities of all fluids and filters.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This Chevrolet Task-Force truck is powered by a thumping 350 cubic inch 5700cc V8 engine fantastic in both performance and appearance. A four barrel Edelbrock Performer Carburetor with manual choke and Edelbrock Performer EPS intake manifold is designed for excellent throttle response and tuned for peak torque at 3500 rpm on this 350-inch engine making it ideal for power from off-idle to 5500 rpm. Emitting a purposeful and intoxicating V8 burble through twin-exit rear exhausts, this really is a hoot! The Turbo Hydra-Matic 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with floor selector operates perfectly.

HISTORY FILE
The Chevrolet Task Force was Chevrolet’s successor to the Advance Design trucks. The Task Force Series ran from 1955 through to 1959 and this 1957 3100 Stepside is an American icon in every sense. A ridiculously thick file of history accompanies this amazing machine even prior to its UK entry in 2012 whereby it has been enjoyed by two former keepers. Copious hand written notes detailing every aspect prove the attention to detail lavished on this Chevrolet light-duty truck. There are invoices dating back to the mid-seventies where it resided in California and it is clearly evident this Chevy hauler has been loved through all the decades. Forming part of a diverse collection consisting of everything from a 1960 Morris Mini to this American V8 Muscle Truck and only selling to downsize a fleet of 25 plus classics, this really is an amazing opportunity.

EXTERIOR
This tough Chevy hauler puts the style and drivability of a full size American car into a rugged pickup truck.  Finished in two-tone Bright Silver Metallic, (Code 17), over Gloss Black this iconic machine draws attention wherever it is driven.  Being the revised fifth generation of the El Camino it benefits from the crosshatch grille flanked by quad rectangular headlights and the proud standup hood ornament.  The Super Sport or SS model also wears a front air dam and sport door mirrors to add to the muscular appearance.  Markings to the body can be seen in terms of chips, paint imperfections and slight dulling to the chrome.  The large cargo area is very clean with no damage.  A presentable rarely seen piece of Americana.

INTERIOR
Immensely comfortable the contrasting Blue Velour interior, (Code CDD2), presents very well.  The supportive individual bucket seating is undamaged and headlining, door cards and colour-keyed nylon cut pile carpeting is clean.  Fake wood trim adorns the spacious cabin and all gauges work along with the GM-Delco FM/AM stereo.  The power windows operate slowly and the internal power locks also work but the drivers remote mirror requires manual adjustment.  The Super Sport nameplate on the instrument panel above the lockable glovebox remains attached. Unlike most commercial vehicles the El Camino offers car-like comfort and refinement in a stylish package.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The preferred factory engine option LG4 is fitted to this vehicle, the legendary (305) 5.0 litre V8.  It thunders into life immediately and sounds truly superb thanks to a custom exhaust system.  Standard BHP is quoted at 150 and works smoothly with the 3-speed automatic transmission.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
A set of stunning and expensive Rocket Booster Chrome wheels are fitted with low profile 255/35 ZR20 rear and 225/40 ZR18 front tyres all, with ample tread. The Super Sport Grey and Silver Rally wheels are also included with the car.  Hydraulic self-adjusting power assisted disc brakes to the front a drums to the rear provide ample stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
This 1984 Chevrolet El Camino is the desirable 5.0 V8 Super Sport model and is the final fifth generation spanning a production run from 1959 until 1987.  Entering the UK in 1992 and entrusted with American car collectors ever since, it represents a rare opportunity for the next American car loving fanatic.  Currently owned by Robert McMillan who runs a successful engineering firm this fascination in everything Americana has led to a collection of eight vehicles with this being the newest of the fleet.  Only selling due to the discovery of a ’59 El Comino the difficult decision was made to sell his youngest example.  Many invoices, old MOT certificates along with the original owners manual are included.  Not to be missed and a dare to be different modern classic.

A truly exceptional interior offering as close to new condition as can be expected!  The incredible low mileage is clearly evident upon climbing into the cabin space.  The Custom Cloth upholstery in Neutral is extraordinarily clean and free from wear with just one tiny faint marking to the passenger backrest negating the term perfect being used.  Tailored GM rubber floor mats have protected the carpets from new helping them to remain pristine, full and free from wear.  The colour matched fascia with incorporated functions and switches are simply perfect with all operating seamlessly, including the ice cold air conditioning as part of the optional Convenience Package.  The term ‘time warp’ often used loosely is absolutely justified in this instance.  Beautifully preserved and very impressive.
