This incredible flagship MGF VVC is finished in stunning Flame Red, (Code COF), the classic sports car colour. The paintwork boasts a deep gloss shine throughout and has clearly benefited from garaged storage and just 25,404 miles from new. All factory panels are pin straight and the underside, wheel arch apertures and shuts are preserved and very clean. The original woven acrylic fabric hood is deep black and the plastic screen pleasingly clear with only very light scratches. All trim, light clusters and badges are in marvellous order and the correct orange indicator lenses denote an earlier car. Originality seekers will be pleased to see the supplying dealer number plates fitted. This example will satisfy the MG fanatic seeking a low mileage and low owner cherished example with large doses of fun!

Bristling with the high specification and expensive factory desirable Leather Option Pack, this example features full Black leather upholstery, (Code PUU), which is in beautiful condition commensurate with the very low mileage and pampered ownership. The cut pile carpets have been protected since new by genuine MG rubber mats. The ivory-coloured dials of the instrument binnacle with the MG logos recall traditional MG design cues and were only fitted to the early cars. The knowledgeable MG enthusiast will note the red line at 7250 rpm on the tachometer as fitted to the range topping 1.8i VVC model. All functions operate perfectly including the original MG stereo cassette. Both front and rear luggage areas are surprisingly spacious and spotless with the front housing and all factory plates and labels. Wonderful.

The desirable four-cylinder 1796cc VVC, (Variable Valve Control), engine produces 143bhp enabling a top speed of 130mph and 0-60 in just 7.0 seconds. The light weight body, mid-mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration possesses all the correct sports car credentials to ensure optimum driver delight. A desirable and period SP Performance Super Sport exhaust system is fitted. Stephen Palmer, a name synonymous with the MGF, founded SP Performance who in conjunction with renowned exhaust manufacturer, Milltek, developed the SP system. Producing a 13bhp increase in power at 5,000, the system sounds sublime yet refined enough at motorway pace and became the bestselling MGF exhaust system upgrade. SP Performance went on to create the iconic supercharged MGF Cheetah! The short throw sports ratio five speed gearbox is light and precise.

The original 15inch VVC style alloy wheels with the MG logo are in pristine condition with no damage whatsoever. Premium brand Continental 185/55 R15 front and 205/50 R15 rear tyres have covered very few miles and the original Goodyear spare wheel which appears unused with coloured tyre banding still visible. Ventilated front discs and solid rear discs with electronic anti-lock braking fitted as standard on the MGF 1.8i VVC offer positive straight-line stopping power.

Registered new on the 22nd May 1998 by Main Dealer, Faraday Rover of Newbury, this desirable top of the range VVC model has covered just 25,404 miles from new with only two owners. A new vehicle order form and subsequent sales invoice in the history file details the optional extras and price new of £21,451.94. The first owner kept the car 24 years until 2022 and the decision by the second owner to sell the car was only prompted by his purchase from KGF Classic Cars of our one owner from new Trophy Yellow MGF Trophy 160 with 6,797 miles! Ownership in the hands of knowledgeable enthusiasts is clearly evident with a huge folder of service and maintenance invoices evidencing all work undertaken right back to when the car was new. Recent notable maintenance includes a full Hydrolastic suspension inspection and height correction in 2023, and in 2022 a full service, brake overhaul and replacement timing belts, vee belt, water pump and tensioner. The head gasket has also been replaced. All handbooks, guides and dealership point of sale literature are in the MG leather wallet along with the service book which displays multiple stamps. Two sets of MG keys with remotes and code tag are present. Completing the history file is an MGF brochure. This is a stunning example of this firmly established classic sports car.
