SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A sporting MG ZR with just 30,501 miles and 17 service stamps.

EQUIPMENT
Sports suspension, sports precision handling, 16-inch Hairpin alloy wheels, wide bore single bright exhaust, front and rear bib spoilers, body-coloured aerodynamic rear spoiler, body-coloured bumper inserts and side strips, bright mesh main and lower front grilles, styled twin halogen headlamps, MG steering wheel, technical finish interior features, sports dials, driver and passenger airbags, alarm/immobiliser, bright door sill tread strips, headlamp road-levelling, rear wash/wipe, digital clock, 60/40 split folding rear seat. Factory Options; Part leather sports seats.

EXTERIOR
Finished in factory original Solar Red, (Code CMU), the beautiful paint finish is uniform and boasts a high polished finish. All original panels are straight and the excellent underside reflects its garage stored and dry usage existence. Door apertures are spotless and retain all factory labels and VIN plate. All trim sections, glass, lights and badges are fully intact and imperfections worthy of mention extend only to a very light mark to the front nearside bumper corner and a tiny door mirror scuff on the nearside. The vinyl to the B-pillar covering on the nearside has lifted ever so slightly to the edges. A prime example and very difficult to find in such preserved condition.

INTERIOR
A beautifully clean and unspoilt interior with noticeable sporting appeal, a far cry from its traditional Rover origins! The figure-hugging part leather sports seats are a factory specified option, (Code WSP), and are in superb condition with none of the usual bolster wear as are the matching door cards. The sports steering wheel proudly displays the MG emblem and the carbon effect inserts remind the driver of the sporting credentials. The headlining and carpets are immaculate. All equipment and trim are factory original, seamless in operation including the original Kenwood stereo system. The boot area and parcel shelf are super clean and the space saving spare wheel and jack remain. A beautifully clean and unspoilt interior.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The free revving 4-cylinder 1.4 16v engine with electronic multi-point fuel injection performs impeccably and produces 101bhp. A top speed of 111mph and 0-60mph in 10 seconds are quoted. The engine compartment is pristine and displays factory plates, stickers, panel stampings and even PDI markings, usually lost on all weather higher mileage examples. The 5-speed manual gearbox is light and a joy to use.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory fitted 16-inch Hairpin alloy wheels are in superb condition and wear matching Dunlop SportBluResponse 205/50 R16 tyres with masses of tread. The MG centre caps remain bright. The power assisted brakes pull the car up steady and straight.

HISTORY FILE
This low mileage MG ZR was registered new on the 29th September 2001 by supplying MG Rover Main Dealer, Horner Eccles Ltd in Manchester and represents a very early pre-Project Drive example of the model. Project Drive was a cost cutting program implemented by MG Rover in late 2001/2002 that fixated on changes to trim, sound insulation and quality of some furnishings in order to save production costs and thankfully this example did not fall victim to any of these measures. Despite the low mileage, the car has benefitted from regular servicing and maintenance and there are 17 stamped entries in the service book, the most recent at 29,647 miles. A documented cambelt change was carried out in September 2023. The original MG handbook/service book along with a large files of service invoices form the full service history and every MOT certificate dating back to the first in 2004 fully verified the mileage at 30,501 miles.

KGF Classic Cars have sourced this stunning example from an enthusiast owner whereby the car was garaged alongside an MGB and Ford Escort RS2000. Very difficult to find in this condition and not to be confused with the majority of tired examples and ready to stand proud at any show.
