A wonderous Skoda Estelle Two 120L with one owner and 14,413 miles.

EQUIPMENT
Four-door saloon body, rear sited engine with louvred compartment cover, large side hinged front luggage area, rear spoiler, black moulded two-piece front and rear bumpers, laminated windscreen, rectangular halogen headlamps, twin reversing lamps, twin rear fog lights, wrap-around front indicators, electric 4-jet screen washers, rear mudflaps, locking petrol cap, fully reclining front seats with head restraints, individual fold down rear seats, Skoda tray mats, heated rear window, low fuel warning light, childproof locks on rear doors, rear seat belts, door arm rests, comprehensive toolkit including spare bulbs. Dealer accessories; Bodyside coachline.

EXTERIOR
‘Surprising Skoda’ was the slogan used in the original sales brochure to advertise the Estelle Two 120L and it is no surprise that everyone at KGF Classic Cars have fallen in love with this one owner example! Finished in Pebblestone, (Code 2040), the paintwork has been subject to extensive detailing and some professional cosmetic refurbishment carried out to an exceptional standard to achieve the amazing visual appeal you see today. Noticeable only upon close inspection are some small areas touched-in above the rear screen and front passenger door top. The underside is incredible having never seen repair work. The two-piece bumpers, registration etched glass, lights, and trim sections are all fully intact and the original supplying dealer number plates and Lombard RAC Rally sticker remain fitted. A rare surviving example preserved with 14,413 verified miles and one owner from new. Does it get much better?!

INTERIOR
Simplicity was the ethos behind these cars to the extent where the specification was a ‘take it or leave it’ affair with no factory options available! The one and only owner requested a dealer fit bodyside coachline in an attempt to zhuzh up the exterior whereas the interior remains the sturdy utilitarian and purposeful space it was always intended to be. The black seat fabric with clean white stripe stitching is in incredible condition with no thinning or rips and the black vinyl door cards are fully intact. The carpets exude durability over opulence and the hard-wearing pile is free from damage and protected by the original sturdy Skoda tray mats which do show some aging. Totally original even down to the protective cellophane below the rear seat base and all interior equipment is also fully operational. The huge front luggage compartment with quirky side hinged hood is clean and still has the protective mat and tool roll as well as bulkhead chassis stamp, VIN plate, AZNP build plate and delicate labels. Perfect retro family motoring for those who dare to be different!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The rear mounted four-cylinder OHV engine is factory fitment and famed for its toughness and ability to cope with the harshness of its Eastern Bloc origins. Developing 52bhp at 5000rpm and 86Nm of torque at 3000rpm, the sales brochure quotes peak speed at 87mph. The engine compartment is very clean and complete with the original jack and even the fragile Skoda Recommend Duckhams sticker remains on the blue air filter housing. The 4-speed manual gearbox operates perfectly and feels light yet agricultural, exactly as it was made!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This exceptional example has factory fitted 13” steel wheels in excellent condition with perfect Skoda centre caps. Branded new premium Uniroyal 165/80 R13 tyres were fitted in October 2022 and the original front underslung spare wheel wears the factory fitted Uniroyal tyre. The standard braking system has been completely overhauled in 2022.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Skoda Main Dealer, Athlone Motor Co. of Warrington, the car was registered on the 1st May 1989 to the first and only keeper, Mrs Haselden. All purchase documentation including the deposit receipt, order form and sales invoice confirms
the price paid of £4,060.56 less part exchange allowance of £1,800 for Mrs Haselden’s 1974 Volkswagen Beetle. The history file includes the original handbook and service schedule as well as the initial PDI checklist. MOT certificates date back to the very first in 1992 until 2004 when the car was taken off the road upon Mrs Haselden ceasing driving. Post 2004 there are tax reminder notices/SORN applications relevant to the years the car was not in use and the last tax disc from 2004 remains in the front screen.

In March 2022 KGF Classic Cars purchased the car from a charity lot at Manor Park Classics auction which was highly publicised by TV personalities Paul Cowland and Fuzz Townshend with all profits donated to the Ukrainian Refugee Fund. Over the last seven months here at KGF Classic Cars, we have thoroughly immersed ourselves in the world of Skoda’s and the car has undergone total recommissioning with lots of blood, sweat and tears, a real labour of love! Every aspect of the car was checked, tested and the program of works included full overhaul of ignition system, fuel and carburation, total renewal of braking system, major service, new tyres and electrical wellness. The car is remarkably original and some localised professional paintwork has been carried out to bring the car back to the glory you see today.

Following on from the initial motive to buy the car, KGF Classic Cars will donate all profits from the sale of this car to Ukrainian Refugee Fund. Contained in the large history file is a full breakdown of all works undertaken. We are immensely proud of this little Skoda and the car now looks and performs just as it should and never fails to put a smile on your face whenever you drive it, and the attention it attracts is simply wonderful!
