ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The legendary E46 M3 was a difficult act to follow yet this E92 has surpassed its predecessor with a phenomenal V8 powerplant developing a ferocious 420bhp. Expect 0-62mph in just 5.3 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The desirable and factory optional Electronic Damper Control (EDC) offers Comfort, Normal and Sport modes whilst throttle response can be controlled to suit the driver’s mood with the Power button. A standard Milltek exhaust system with invoice in the history file for £1218.60 is fitted. The engine bay is pristine with factory stickers, plates, under bonnet labels and strut top stampings and the bonnet underside has the built date sticker and M3 logo pressing. The 6-speed manual transmission is tight and operates with precision.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
A factory cost option at £1,076.60 are the 19-inch M Double Spoke alloy wheels in original diamond cut finish. There is no rim damage whatsoever and only a small area of paint lift to just two of the inner spokes. Matching Michelin Pilot Sport tyres of size 245/35 ZR19 front and 265/35 R19 rear have ample tread. An optional space saver spare wheel remains unused and covered in the boot area. Huge vented front and rear discs offer immense and predictable stopping power.
The under-bonnet build label confirms this example was manufactured in September 2007 and registration by BMW Main Dealer Barons Hindhead to Andy Ayres was on 20th October 2007. New car order records in the history file confirm the price paid by Mr Ayres of £54,705 including factory optional extras totalling £4,276.60. The second and only other keeper, Mr Peter Wheelhouse, purchased the car in 2014 and the car has covered a warranted 62,963 miles. The comprehensive history file is beautifully organised and the extensive invoices from BMW Main Dealers and specialist, Munich Legends, leave no doubt that this car has been cared for without compromise. Invoices from Munich Legends alone total thousands of pounds and the last service was at 59,481 miles. The original BMW leather wallet contains the full book pack including all supplements and there are two BMW key units. The service book holds seven stamped entries. Both owners have been meticulous in the care of this example with the car performing impeccably.
