EXTERIOR
Proudly bearing the three-pointed star, two pairs of elliptical headlights and the familiar Mercedes chrome grille there is no mistaking the elegant silhouette of this W208 CLK Coupe. Specified in rich Azurite Blue, (Code 366), the stunning paintwork gleams with a deep gloss shine and lustrous finish to really enhance the graceful lines of this genuine four seat tourer. Stylish touches of chrome contrast against the colour with no marks or storage damage and the underside is incredible thanks to strict garage storage. The beautifully made trim sections, glass, lights and badges are pristine. This really is elegance personified and worthy of the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.

INTERIOR
The interior of this CLK Elegance captures the ambience of luxury, with fine carpets, opulent upholstery and carefully selected burr walnut wood trim. Sumptuous leather trimmed in beautiful factory optional Orion Grey Leather, (Code 218), is flawless. Bright chrome door strips greet first entry into a factory perfect cabin where all controls, displays and touch-points are as new and fully functional. Being a dealer launch car this example is well specified with many factory options. An unopened Mercedes-Benz first aid kit remains in situ in the rear parcel shelf. Inside the immaculate boot area is the original warning triangle, tool roll and jack, exactly as it left the factory.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Power with economy, the four cylinder 2.0 litre engine was re-engineered for the CLK. Refinements including the use of sequential fuel injection and automatic adjustment of the inlet camshaft help produce a maximum 136bhp to allow a top speed of 129mph and 0-62mph in 11.0 secs with complete reliability. The engine bay is a perfectionists delight displaying all factory credentials in immaculate spotlessly clean condition. The electronically controlled five-speed automatic gearbox recognises a style of driving and the type of road and adapts gear change patterns to match the drivers mood and conditions for a superb and relaxed driving experience.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Elegant 16” five spoke style, (Code 659), alloy wheels are in pristine order with no refurbishment and in the correct factory finish. Five matching Pirelli P6000 205/55 R16 tyres are correctly dated with the production of the car and have ample tread. Should the next owner wish to use the car these should be replaced but retained for correctness. The anti-lock braking system with Brake Assist (BAS) offers absolute stopping power to install complete peace of mind.

HISTORY FILE
This unique museum quality Mercedes CLK is fascinating on so many fronts, not least because it has covered a miniscule 1,015 miles from new. The Mercedes dealer launch of the new CLK was Friday 20th June 1997 and this incredible early production car was earmarked for that grand reveal at Jacksons Mercedes-Benz of Guernsey. Invitations sent out, hospitality booked and the car centre stage ready for the public to admire. One such admirer was Mrs Jagger who snapped up this car for her husband as a gift and was subsequently registered new to him in the 1st July 1997 remaining entirely in his ownership. However, preferring the practically of his four-door W126, the new CLK was seldom used and on his passing in 2015 was inherited by his son, Nigel Jagger. A Mercedes family through and through, Nigel subsequently booked the car into Jacksons Mercedes-Benz for a full service with the car having covered just 885 miles at the time. Being the Managing Director of many companies Nigel had precious time to use and enjoy the car so the difficult decision was made to bring the car to his UK abode, register it and find it a discerning Mercedes custodian. A one-off opportunity to buy simply the best.
