An early first generation UK Honda CBR900RR Fireblade SC28 in awesome condition.

EQUIPMENT
Lightweight aluminium frame, weight saving Yagura swing arm, Pro-link rear suspension with CIVS damper and 7-step preload rebound and compression adjust, aluminium front forks with extruded sliders and cast bottom sliders, lockable seat compartment, side stand down, oil, neutral, high beam and turn signal lamps, manual choke, tool kit. Honda Accessories; Datatag, Datatool alarm.

EXTERIOR
A revolutionary superbike with a set of design ideals and a return to basics to reverse the trend of bigger and heavier bikes was the ethos behind this model. Finished in the classic Honda red/white and blue colour scheme this exciting CBR900RR has a lightweight rigid alloy main frame that only weighs 10.5kg and the seat sub-frame, swing arm as well as the silencer and front forks are all alloy too. The whole bike only weighs 185kg, less than any super sports bike of the same category at the time. The beautiful faring has a series of 8mm diameter holes near the powerful twin headlights and lower cowl to provide efficient airflow and improve cornering performance and is in excellent condition. The tank has two small dings and the decals, foot rubbers and handgrips have no damage. The stunning factory fitted 4-into-2-into-1 exhaust system has the part number clearly visible and is virtually unmarked. This UK bike is difficult to fault and heralds the birth of a legend.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The super compact DOHC, 4 stroke, 16 valve liquid cooled straight four 893cc engine with slanted carburettors to give optimum throttle control produces 122bhp and enough to propel this nimble machine to a top speed of 166mph. The standard exhaust system is a welcome sight and produces a fabulous exhaust note. The Race-inspired six-speed gearbox utilises every ounce of power.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Lightweight gloss Black 16-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels are fitted with the correct Battlax tyres specially developed with Bridgestone that are made from a compound comparable to those used for racing slicks and have ample tread. Double floating 296mm front discs with 4-piston calipers are aided by a single 220mm rear disc to provide immensely powerful but controllable braking. A formidable package.

HISTORY FILE
Paving the history for bike of the 90’s, the Fireblade was the decade’s centrepiece and this first generation Blade is the jewel. The legend began in the Spring of 1992 and this UK example was registered new on the 21st May 1992, one of the first. Full MOT history is offered until the bike was acquired by serial bike collector, Robert James in 2004. His quest to find a standard, early UK first generation SC28 CBR900RR proved virtually impossible until he discovered this machine. Sound, useable and unmolested but not perfect, Mr James authorised George White Motors of Swindon Ltd, Honda Main Agents, to embark on a full rebuild using only genuine Honda parts. An invoice dated June 2004 reveals parts alone totalling £9,680! Once complete the bike remained cherished and displayed until purchased by Mr Burdcok in 2015 to join another formidable collection of iconic greats from early air-cooled RD’s to tiny Honda Monkey bikes and many Raleigh Choppers! Many invoices, MOT certificates and instruction pamphlets included to make this one of the all-time collectable Japanese greats.
