This lovely very late 1980 registered MG Midget is finished in the original colour of Vermillion, (Code CML), which boasts a wonderful bright shine and uniform finish. The car is in fantastic condition structurally and all body panels are straight and undamaged, and the wheel arches still display clearly defined spot weld dimples. Remedial cosmetic refreshment has taken place in order to uphold such a bright show appearance and some minor blemishes will be detected upon close scrutiny. The once criticized polyurethane bumpers are now desirable for those seeking a car close to standard and are in excellent condition with none of the common severe distortion. All Sekurit glass and lights are original and in excellent order and the badges are perfect. The vinyl hood is factory fitment and remains in fantastic order with all ‘pull-the-dot’ and Tenax poppers intact and complete with both the full and rear tonneaus covers. A smashing example ready to stand very proud among most other examples.

The original knit-backed expanded black vinyl seats are in excellent condition with no wear, markings or damage. Matching door cards and interior trim sections are in very good order with only the driver’s door trim showing a couple of nicks towards the edge. The carpets are factory fitment and remain protected by the genuine rubber MG floor mats. The unspoilt crackle finish fascia houses fully functioning controls and switchgear including the period Unipart push-button radio. The steering wheel has been replaced with a beautiful and expensive Motolita item but the original has been retained should the next owner desire a totally standard interior. A snug and ergonomically confused interior, exactly what we love about this traditional British sports car!

This four-cylinder OHV 1493cc engine with twin SU type HS4 carburettors, correct for the home market, offers ample performance for modern traffic conditions.
