Full Description

A stunning pre-facelift BMW E30 325i Convertible with a huge history file.

Monocoque construction, torsionally rigid safety cell, anti-lock braking system (ABS), twin halogen circular headlights, integral front air dam, rear spoiler, leather sports steering wheel, central locking with deadlock, check control system, electric windows all round, electrically adjustable door mirrors, rechargeable glove box torch.  Factory options; Electronic Hydraulic (EH) automatic transmission, leather upholstery.  Dealer accessories; Turbulence deflector, mud flaps, tailored BMW floor mats, security deadlocks, TOAD Centurion Carguard alarm system.

This outstanding pre-facelift or ‘chrome bumper’ E30 325i is finished in solid Atlantisblau, (Atlantis Blue, Code 207).  The original paintwork boasts a spectacular deep gloss shine and high polished finish, and the original panels are beautifully straight with uniform shut lines.  The desirable chrome to the bumpers and trim as fitted to the pre-facelift cars is in immaculate order and gives a chic classic look.  All light lens’ are original Bosch and Hella fitment and all glass is factory BMW etched.  The black plastic bumper trim sections have a very light rub to the nearside rear and offside front corners and wheel arch apertures are very clean.  The Dark Blue Substance UV resistant hood is in amazing condition, virtually mark free with no fading and a clear, undamaged plastic screen.  An iconic classic BMW convertible.

The original upholstery with BMW sports front seats, as standard on the 325i, and body-contoured rear seats are trimmed in factory optional Silver-Grey leather, (Code 0292).  The seats are in fine structural condition with no worn bolsters or damage to the coverings, but do have light hairline crazing to the leather through natural aging.  The dashboard is immaculate and all functions and controls operate including the check control panel and inspection display showing a full complement of green indicators.  A Blaupunkt COMO RCM 148 radio cassette with electric aerial is fitted and functional, and originality seekers will be delighted to see factory stickers still within the driver’s door aperture and the hood operation instruction card in the driver’s sun visor pocket.  An interior to simply delight the 1980’s ‘Yuppie’!
Displacing 2494cc, the legendary straight six cylinder unit from BMW needs little introduction.  170bhp and 222Nm of torque in a relatively lightweight car allow quoted 0-62mph and top speed figures of 10.5 seconds and 130mph respectively.  A clean, unmolested engine bay displays plates and stickers and even factory wax.  The unmistakable crisp engine note is instantly recognisable and will set the heart of any petrolhead racing!  The factory optional Electronic Hydraulic (EH) automatic transmission with sport, economy and manual modes performs faultlessly and offers positive kick down, exactly as it should.

Five 15″ light alloy wheels in cross spoke styling are original 325i fitment in pristine order with correct BMW hex centre caps.  Matching premium brand Uniroyal Rainsport3 205/55 R15 tyres have recently been fitted including the spare which sits in the spotless boot area alongside the first aid kit, warning triangle, jack and 100% complete toolkit.  The anti-lock braking system (ABS) incorporating all round discs offers ample stopping power to this range topping model.

A truly incredible history file sets this example apart from the usual offerings and firmly cements the fastidious ownership this car has enjoyed.  Supplied new by BMW Main Dealer, Milcars of Stanmore, on 3rd September 1990, this example has covered just 72,127 miles from new.  The history file is simply enormous, chronologically filed and beautifully presented, whereby perusal of such would take some considerable time.  There are countless invoices from new and throughout, including many from BMW Main Dealers as well as independent specialists.  Furthermore, the full book pack includes all handbooks, guides, service indicator explanation guide and dealership literature as well as the original service book containing an incredible 27 stamped entries.  There are several documented cambelt and water pump changes, the last being carried out at 65,841 miles, and all MOT certificates dating back to the first in 1993!

Six-cylinder E30 BMW’s have always been collectable, and this example offers the opportunity to own a fantastic testament to this iconic ultimate driving machine.
