A time-warp Ford Fiesta Mk3 1.1LX with an incredible 10,527 miles from new.
Bumpers and bodyside mouldings with bright insert, halogen headlights, laminated windscreen, tinted glass, tilt/removable sunroof, locking fuel filler, anti-burst locks, tailgate wash/wipe, heated rear window, remote door mirrors, digital clock, Ford self-seek model 2006 stereo cassette, tachometer, courtesy lighting.
With a genuine 10,527 miles from new, this delightful Fiesta is preserved in amazing condition. Finished in original Ford Diamond White, (Code B3), the paintwork to all factory panels is superb and displays nothing other than a few age-related markings and a lightly touched-in scratch to the boot lid. All trim sections, glass, lights and badges are fully intact and supplying Ford dealer number plates remain fitted. A very light rub to the offside corner of the black plastic rear bumper is barely visible. A super low mileage and superb entry level classic Ford, once a common sight and virtually none have survived as well is this example.
An interior entirely commensurate with a 10,527-mile car! The cabin space with Miami fabric trim in Raven colour scheme, (Code BM), is essentially as it sat in the showroom awaiting collection by the first owner with the seats in superb condition. All trim sections, controls and switchgear have the new car feel which is lost soon after regular use. In-car functions operate flawlessly including the Ford self-seek model 2006 stereo cassette. Even the new car smell has been retained, instantly familiar as a Ford and ready to transport you back to a Ford showroom in 1993!
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1119cc HCS CFi four-cylinder engine featuring electronic single point injection and automatic choke set up produces 49bhp at 5200rpm. A top speed of 89mph and 0-60mph is achieved in a sedate, license preserving 15.8 seconds. Complete mechanical simplicity and the distinctive Ford push-rod engine note are guaranteed but the common intrusive tappet sound is welcomely absent in this super-low mileage example. The spotlessly clean engine bay has original plates, stickers and factory panel and Ford emblem stampings clearly visible as well as fragile paper service labels. Genuine Ford Motorcraft service items are in abundance including the grey Ford HT Leads and all fluids are clean and clear. The 5-speed manual gearbox feels brand new!
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory steel wheels of size 5 x 13in are in excellent order with the original LX full wheel covers virtually unmarked. Four brand new premium brand Uniroyal RainExpert 3 165/65 R13 tyres were fitted in July 2022 and covering zero miles have replaced the original Michelin MXT items! The servo-assisted diagonally split brakes with discs up front and drums at the rear pull the car up quickly and safely.
This wonderful example was registered new on the 1st August 1993 by Ford Main Dealers, Godfrey Davis of Welwyn Garden City. The new car sales invoice in the history file is made out to first owner, Mrs Leach, who paid £7,935.00 less part exchange allowance for her 1981 Ford Fiesta 950. Mrs Leach kept the car garaged and used it for the monthly shopping trip until eventually selling it in 2016. There have been just two further keepers since and the car has covered a verified 10,527 miles from new
The history file contains the Ford document wallet with all handbooks, guides, security code cards and point of sale literature. The original service book displays six stamped entries, the most recent being in July 2022 at 10,527 miles. A file of invoices and MOT certificates is present and there is an original 1993 Ford Range brochure along with two Ford keys. The perfect entry into retro Ford ownership and many a first car for an entire generation!
MOT June 2023, HPI Clear.
