A spectacular Ford Capri 2.8 Injection Special with just 60,510 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT
Remote control driver’s door mirror, body-coloured grille, lamp bezels body-coloured, power assisted steering, front and rear spoilers, tailgate wash/wipe, tinted glass all round, ammeter and oil pressure gauge, tachometer, quartz analogue clock, courtesy lights, perforated black headlining, front reclining Recaro seats, three-spoke leather covered steering wheel, tilting/sliding steel sunroof, boot light, instrument brightness control, Ford ESRT 32PS stereo cassette.  Factory options; Black paintwork.

EXTERIOR
This outstanding Ford Capri 2.8 Injection is finished in factory optional Ford Black, (Code A9), and boasts an incredible finish and deep mirror shine.  The bodywork is beautifully straight and all panels are factory original and display linear gaps.  Originality seekers will be pleased to note all lenses are factory Hella fitment with Ford and ‘made in England’ lettering, and the supplying Ford Main Dealer rear number plates remains fitted.  All trim sections are immaculate and the badges and decals are bright and undamaged.  In arguably the most striking of colours, this gorgeous black Capri simply radiates the wow factor.

INTERIOR
The supportive Recaro seats in grey high-grade leather with ‘Strobe’ pattern fabric centre panels, (Code Q5), are spotlessly clean with firm seat structure and the near impossible to find removable back rest pads in matching ‘Strobe’ pattern are present!  The lower seat bolsters have some very light hairline crazing to the leather.  The door cards, headlining and trim sections are superbly preserved and the deep pile grey carpeting is very clean and retains its fullness.  The leather covered steering wheel and gear knob are in excellent order, and the dashboard has no cracks whatsoever and all switchgear and controls retain bright white lettering.  The factory fitted ESRT 32PS stereo cassette and electric aerial are operational, as are all gauges and the clock.  An unspoilt pin-straight parcel shelf will delight those seeking the factory standard experience.  A classic Capri interior, exactly as Ford intended and difficult to fault.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Capri 2.8 Injection was the first offering of the new Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) operation that had recently been set up in Dunton, Essex.  SVE added a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, an oil/water heat exchanger, viscous coupled fan and an improved radiator making the 158 BHP capable of 130mph and 0-60mph in 7.9 seconds.  The fantastic engine bay is standard with Motorcraft service items, build plates and stickers displayed, even down to genuine Motorcraft radiator and expansion tank caps.  Exhibitionists will be proud to leave the bonnet up and amaze onlookers.  The 5-speed gearbox is direct and progression through the range is effortless.  Complete with the intoxicating exhaust note, this Capri is guaranteed to set the pulse racing!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory 7-spoke alloy wheels are pristine with Ford badged centre caps.  Five brand new and very expensive Dunlop Sport Classic tyres in the correct size 205/60 R13 were fitted in December 2018.  The immaculate luggage area has build stickers to the boot floor and houses the fifth alloy spare alongside the original jack and brace.  Recently subject to a full overhaul, the hydraulic dual-line servo-assisted brakes with ventilated front discs, unique on the 2.8 Special, stop the car quickly and in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE
Built in June 1986 at the Cologne Plant in Germany, this 2.8 Injection Special was registered new on 1st August 1986 by Main Dealer Dagenham Ford of Worthing.  Only three previous owners are listed on the log book and this example has covered just 60,510 miles from new.  Throughout 2018 and following a period of dry storage, the Capri has been subject to a full re-commissioning process including a major service, full brake overhaul, belt renewal, water pump, radiator, fuel tank, clutch kit and gearbox fluid flush, to name the main points.  The car is now wanting for nothing and performs every inch as good as it looks.

An unmodified and beautifully presented example of this British motoring legend.
