MODEL HISTORY
Subaru UK has for years developed performance special editions of the Impreza as a nod towards its rallying success and racing pedigree. Legendary status is afforded to each model with a huge enthusiast following whereby Subaru just had the ability to synchronise their creation with just what buyers wanted. Following on from the first and second special editions, the Series McRae and the Cataluyna, the 1998 release of the Terzo which translated from Italian to mean ‘Third’ was released to commemorate Subaru’s third successive World Rally Championship. Production was upped to 333 cars from the 200 cars made for each of its two predecessors with no number 13 owing to Italian propensity for superstition. A lighter shade of the Blue Mica was chosen along with 16in gold wheels, Alcantara seats and non-folding rear seats which aided increased rigidity. A very important piece of Subaru history and UK Special Editions.

EQUIPMENT
Terzo decals to side and rear, numbered plaque, turbo intercooler air intake, front air dam, rear spoiler, anti-lock brakes, twin airbags, electric headlamp washers, 170mm driving lamps, adjustable Momo steering wheel, leather gear knob and handbrake lever, special Terzo floor mats, air conditioning, Thatcham Class 1 alarm and immobiliser, electric windows and mirrors, remote locking, power steering, internal boot and fuel release, Quartz digital clock, toolkit.

EXTERIOR
The Terzo Special Edition was awarded a lighter shade of the Blue Mica finish, (Code 74F), along with unique Terzo decals to the front wings and boot. Number 100/333 presented here has covered just 33,238 miles from new and boasts rare first paint credentials. The iconic Subaru blue paintwork boasts a stunning uniform finish with nothing other than a few faint stone chips to the front which are left untreated to uphold originality. The Terzo decals are fully intact and bright and all factory glass and light clusters remain with Subaru branding to the headlights and huge 170mm driving lamps. The underside is free from excess underseal and presents as a fair weather and garaged example and being totally original, is one for the fastidious enthusiast.

INTERIOR
The numbered plaque proudly displayed on the centre console confirms this epic machine as number 100/333. True to the factory finished product is this superbly preserved interior trimmed in Terzo specification contoured Alcantara and Jersey front seats with matching Jersey and suede effect rear seats, (Code 830). The spotless seat coverings are remarkable with the seat structure and shape factory fresh. The Momo steering wheel and leather to the gear knob and hand brake display hallmarks of a low mileage example as do all other trim sections, door cards and perfect headlining. The highly prized original Terzo floor mats are present and in good order. The air conditioning is not ice cold but all other functions, controls and gauges operate perfectly. All door apertures are pristine with factory labels intact.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Phenomenal. Producing 208bhp is the 2-litre quad-cam turbocharged engine which is capable of catapulting the Terzo from 0-62mph in just 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 144mph. The genuine Subaru standard twin tailpipe exhaust system produces precisely the right sound and legendary burble. The engine bay is standard and very clean with the Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. VIN plates intact along with all other labels, stickers and tags. The 5-speed short throw gear change maximises full use of the power.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Gorgeous gold finish 16” alloys are original Terzo fitment and in stunning condition aside from one small imperfection to the front offside rim. Recently replaced and covering less than 800 miles are premium brand Michelin Pilot Sport3 205/50 R16 tyres fitted all round and within the immaculate boot area sits the space saver spare wheel alongside the original Subaru tool bag. Powerful disc brakes all-round with ABS stop this road going rally legend quickly.
