SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A retro Vauxhall Cavalier Mk3 2.0i GLS 16v with 33,909 miles and one private owner.

EQUIPMENT
Laminated windscreen, safety crumple zones, rigid passenger safety cell, driver airbag, body coloured front grille, dark grey bodyside protection mouldings, locking fuel cap, halogen headlamps, power assisted steering (PAS), anti-lock brakes (ABS), electric front windows, central locking, tilt/slide sunroof, electric remote-control heated mirrors, digital clock and outside temperature gauge, illuminated glove locker, vanity mirror. Factory options; 4-speed automatic transmission, two-coat pearlescent paint.

EXTERIOR
This wonderfully nostalgic Vauxhall Cavalier Mk3, a once common sight on UK roads and instantly familiar to many, is now seldom seen and this low mileage example has been preserved impeccably by its only private owner from new. Finished in factory original and optional Smoke Grey metallic, (Code 96L), the paintwork boasts a superb polished shine and uniform finish with a few very light bumper rubs and touched in stone chips. All factory panels are damage free and the superb underside is preserved thanks to strict garage storage since new. All glass is factory fitment with both front and rear screens etched with the matching VIN. The GM Carello headlights and trim sections are virtually as new and the supplying Vauxhall dealer number plates and rear screen sticker remain fitted. The GLS wing badges have tarnished slightly. In desirable 2.0 GLS guise, this outstanding example is guaranteed to delight appreciators of modern classic Vauxhalls.

INTERIOR
A spotlessly clean, functional and period Vauxhall interior is trimmed in Ash Grey Velour, (Code 81L). The seats are firm with unworn structure and only slight loosening of the material to the front seats. The matching colour keyed door cards and headlining are intact with just a tiny amount of shrinkage on the driver’s door armrest. All GLS functions and controls operate perfectly including the outside temperature gauge. The dashboard and associated switchgear are as new. Prominent natural veins to the steering wheel are an obvious trait of such a low mileage example. The immaculate boot floor has the factory insulating panels and the original polystyrene moulding holds the jack, wheel brace and centre cap locking tool. A comfortable modern classic and just as it left the Vauxhall showroom in 1995.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This Cavalier GLS features the desirable 2.0i 16v X20XEV Ecotec engine developing 134bhp at 5600rpm and 185Nm of torque at 4000rpm. This example having covered just 33,909 miles drives perfectly and the quiet yet powerful engine is a delight. A cambelt and water pump replacement was carried out in September 2018. The engine bay is spotlessly clean, unaltered and displays factory panel stampings, plates and stickers as well as genuine GM service items. The factory optional four speed automatic transmission with both sport and winter modes operates flawlessly.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The standard GLS alloys wheels and centre caps are perfect having been professionally refurbished, and the matching 195/60 R14 tyres have excellent tread remaining and good rubber condition. The original Firestone Firehawk 690 tyre with coloured banding remains fitted and unused to the spare wheel. Diagonally split dual circuit brakes with anti-lock assistance (ABS) feature 9.3in front discs and 7.9in rear drums to bring the car to a steady and assured halt.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new by Vauxhall Main Dealers Westons Motors Ltd of Hitchin on the 1st March 1995, this exceptional Cavalier has covered just 33,909 miles from new with just one private owner, Mr Terrence Walsh. The first keeper was the dealer themselves, Westons Motors Ltd as indicated on the V5C. The vehicle order form with subsequent sales invoice and receipt for £10,995 has been kept in the history file along with a large collection of invoices and previous MOT certificates. The Vauxhall document wallet holds the service booklet with six stamped entries, all from the supplying dealer Westons, as well as all handbooks, guides and dealership literature. Two original Vauxhall keys are supplied.

This beautifully preserved and unmolested Cavalier is a credit to its former keeper and offers capable, practical and comfortable retro motoring, a guaranteed hit at shows!
