Unique to the SL65 are 19” AMG split rim alloys wheels in Titanium Grey which remain in near perfect condition, whilst premium brand tyres of size 255/35 R19 and 285/30 R19 front and rear respectively have masses of tread remaining. The high-performance braking system feature massive composite discs which have a diameter of 390mm at the front and 360mm at the rear. The huge ornate callipers are prominent through the large spoke openings and remain in the correct silver.
HISTORY FILE
The Mercedes SL R230 Series was designed using the ground-breaking supercomputer in the “CAVE” (Computer Aided Virtual Environment) which allowed designers to meticulously analyse every curve and line. After introduction of the V8 SL55 AMG, Mercedes surprised the industry and press by developing this, the awesome V12 bi-turbo SL65 AMG a year later. This 2005 example has covered just 48,164 miles from new. There are seven recorded service entries in the electrically held records with the most recent carried out by Mercedes-Benz Worcester in September 2017 at 47,229 miles. Both the dealer supplied leather document wallets are beautifully presented and hold all handbooks, guides and point of sale literature. A further large history folder holds supporting service invoices as well as two sets of original remote keys. Completing the history file is a hardback sales brochure and separate price list which reveals an eye-watering list price including options of £151,880!
