EXTERIOR
A significant deviation from a standard Audi A8, not only is this example the sought after A8 LWB model with limousine standards of additional space but this car also boasts A-list celebrity ownership status in none other than the original Queen of Pop, Madonna! Madonna Richie, as she was known at the time, purchased this example brand new having specified virtually every factory option as well as the stealthily discreet Phantom Black Pearl Effect paint, (Code LZ9Y), perhaps to fall below the radar of the rampaging Paparazzi. There are various markings around the car which are easily explained for a car that drove Madonna thousand of miles around London while regularly being mobbed by said Paparazzi as can be seen in online photographs where the car is literally swarmed by photographers! All trim sections are fully intact as is the high privacy double-glazed glass with extra tint! A beautiful example and a brilliant way for a Madonna fan to express themselves.
INTERIOR
Not quite like a virgin but very clean, well equipped and immensely spacious. The superb interior is trimmed in Valcona Extended Leather Upholstery Pack 1 in Black, (Code LA), which is exceptionally comfortable. The huge specification interior equipment functions perfectly including Rear Seat Entertainment and BOSE music sound system to get help you get into the groove. The rear cabin space is outstanding and the Queen of Pop will have enjoyed luxurious privacy in cossetted climate-controlled comfort while the factory optional Electric slide and tilt glass sunroof allows in just enough ray of light. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The outstanding 4.2TDi V8 engine is powerful, refined and quiet. Developing 321bhp and a thumping 650Nm of torque, this executive slingshot has an electronically limited top speed of 155mph and achieves 0-62mph in just 6.1 seconds which is phenomenal for such a large machine. The engine bay is spotlessly clean and this well-maintained example performs seamlessly with the 6-speed Tiptronic operating perfectly. A true celebration of Audi build quality and engineering vogue.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Standard on the A8L are 5-arm Design High-Gloss alloy wheel which are in excellent condition with no outer rim damage and only faint markings. Premium brand Bridgestone Potenza 255/45 R18 tyres with masses of tread are fitted all round and electronic anti-lock braking with electronic brake force distribution are non-compromising safety elements to make sure all occupants are perfectly safe and live to tell of each fantastic journey.
HISTORY FILE
Destined for a life of glamour, privilege and the spotlight, this Audi A8L was supplied new in 2005 directly from Audi (UK) in Bicester to the legendary Queen of Pop, Madonna, before returning to Audi (UK) to form part of their Heritage Collection where it has remained since. So only two owners from new, Madonna and Audi. The Material Girl singer wanted a fast, luxury and yet discreet car to be chauffeured around London, her home of many years now, and this A8L fitted the bill perfectly. The V5 documentation and copies of previous ownership records state Madonna Ritchie (The Ciccone 1989 Trust). Ciccone was Madonna’s birth surname.
The car was owned by Madonna until 2010 and during her ownership the car was driven by her personal Chauffeur. Most days upon visiting her gym, Madonna would insist on being dropped outside whereby the Chauffeur was instructed to wait with the car despite parking restrictions. In this effort to avoid harassment from the Paparazzi, which was particularly invasive as during this time her marriage to Guy Ritchie was very publicly ending, the adverse effect resulted as every day a parking ticket would be issued which attracted much press attention. There are many photographs online of the car with Madonna receiving parking tickets as well as images of the car swarmed by press photographers. The vehicle is supplied with service history and original book packs. There is also an album of photographs relating to Madonna’s ownership of the car as well as an immaculate collection of lifestyle magazines from 2006 featuring the singer.
