ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The robust air-cooled 2-stroke engine has a 49cc displacement with an automatic superlube oil injection to help ensure maximum convenience and reliability. Proven reed-valve induction combined with electronic CD Ignition (CDI) delivers the kind of power that has enthralled a generation of first time young riders. Being completely standard with the correct factory AR50 exhaust for the UK market, the maximum power is 2,1 kW at 4.500 rpm and maximum torque at 4,5 Nm at 4.000 rpm giving a restricted 35mph top speed. This is a matching numbers example. The 5-speed close-ratio gearbox operates correctly with smooth gear changes.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This AR50 is fitted with stylish and distinctive cast-alloy gold wheels with the correct chrome polished edge, both in fabulous condition. New Cougar 2.75-18 rear and 2.50-18 front tyres are fitted for the period look. Hydraulic disc front brake and dustproof/waterproof rear drum brake combine to provide confident, controlled braking in all weather conditions.
One of the first AR50-A1 models to be registered in the UK on the 30th March 1981 with a frame number of 000811 this variant is highly collectable. In the hands of just four former keepers, this example was discovered by Phil Holme, owner of Holmetech Motorcycle Sales & Restorations and respected experts in the Kawasaki AR/AE model. Fully worked on by him to now represent one of the best currently available. An unmissable opportunity and rarely offered.
