EXTERIOR
This cherished and factory standard Type R is the highly sought-after GT model having covered just 38,352 miles and is Father and Son owned from new. Finished in one of just four colours available at the time, (Alabaster Silver – Code NH700M), the factory original paintwork is simply stunning. A bright uniform shine to the pin straight bodywork will please even the most zealous scrutineer and the only imperfections worthy of mention are a few minor touched in stone chips and a small scratch just behind the driver door rear edge. The first owner specified a huge list of factory options to include, amongst others, the extensive and seldom specified Gloss Black front and rear bumper skirts and body colour side protectors. All bumpers, spoilers, trim and badges are intact and in excellent condition, as are the light clusters which remain clear with none of the common plastic fatigue. Supplying Honda main dealer number plates and rear screen sticker remain fitted to this awesome unspoilt and low mileage example.

INTERIOR
The brilliant body-hugging Type-R racing Alcantara seats, (Code SMT 8), are in pristine order with firm wear free bolsters and none of the common bobbling to the Alcantara fabric. Huge wings to the front seats, red seat panel inserts and Type R embossment are a less than subtle reminder that this really is no ordinary Civic! The carpets have been protected from new by genuine Tyre R embossed floor mats and the matching door cards are in excellent order. The futuristic fascia and trim are immaculate and all functions, controls and head-up displays are perfect in operation, as is the ice-cold dual climate control. The small plaque on the centre console informs you that the car is build number R-10412. The boot area is pristine and has even been protected by a cargo tray from new! Amazing.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Little introduction is needed for the engineering wonderment that is Honda’s legendary naturally aspirated engines and their phenomenal capabilities, and the chain driven K20Z4 i-VTEC in this FN2 Civic remains in factory standard form. From just a 2.0 litre powerplant, Honda engineers have developed an incredible 198bhp with the VTEC system engaging at 5400rpm and maximum power output at an awesome 8200rpm! A top speed of 146mph along with 0-62mph in just 6.6 seconds is enough to embarrass many a performance car with much larger six-cylinder engines. The engine bay is clean and exactly as Honda intended with all factory stickers and plates intact as well as the bright red cam cover suffering none of the common flaking affecting many examples. The slick 6-speed manual short-throw gearbox allow rapid slingshot gear changes.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Expensive factory optional 19in Rage Design alloy wheels feature diamond cut faces against graphite inner spokes. The wheels are in perfect condition with no markings whatsoever. Matching premium brand Pirelli PZero and recently replaced 225/35 ZR19 tyres are fitted all round. The sophisticated braking system features ABS with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution and emergency brake assist and the Type R callipers are clearly visible through the huge spoke apertures, all very clean.

HISTORY FILE
Manufactured in Swindon, England and build number R-10412, the car was first registered on 4th December 2007. Supplied as a UK car by Main Dealer, Holdcroft Honda of Stoke-on-Trent, this example has covered just 38,352 miles from new in the hands of enthusiast Father and Son owners from new. Mr Thompson Senior purchased the car new immediately after his first Type R was taken from him by thieves in a car park robbery. Unperturbed by his short-lived experience with his first car and despite protesting from his family, Mr Thompson defiantly ordered another example and this time ticked virtually every factory option, a true enthusiast! Upon acquiring a company car and wishing not to part with it, the car was retired to weekend usage and in 2016 the car was passed to his son who has owned it since.

All handbooks, manuals and dealership point of sale literature is included in the leather document wallet and there are two original Honda remote keys with code tags and dealer fob. A further history folder contains invoices and MOT certificates and the most recent service was carried out in February 2022 using genuine Honda parts. Completing the history file is an original Honda Type R range brochure. This, low mileage, low owner and unspoilt example will not disappoint.
