Accessories: Ford ESRT 32PS FM cassette player.

This fantastic RS2000 is finished in vibrant Venetian Red, (Code XSC-1136) and boasts an amazing deep shine with a polished show finish that will stun onlookers. All trim sections, RS decals and badges remain intact and are in excellent order. Unique Custom features such as the Bronze tinted glass and black back panel remain and all the rubbers, door seals are soft and black. The polyurethane droop snoot is straight and perfectly colour matched along with all other panels thanks to a sympathetic photographed restoration. Originality can be seen with Ziebart plug holes to the door apertures, Ziebart sticker to the rear screen and genuine Cibie headlights. The wheel recesses are detailed in body colour and the underside is remarkably clean with light coating of Waxoyl enabling the grey/red factory finish to be seen.

Stunningly finished in Chocolate Beta Plus Fabric by renown and trusted experts, Aldridge Trimming Ltd to factory specification. The fascia and undamaged padded dash top houses fully functional gauges and rocker switches and the original leather bound three spoke steering wheel remains fitted in perfect condition. The heater fan is functional on both speed settings but the clock has stopped. The cut pile carpets and fully trimmed door panels are in excellent condition and Ford labels can still be seen on the seat belts. The headlining is tight and clean and a Ford 32PS cassette player is fitted. The luggage compartment has the original Custom spec cut pile carpet extending over the spare wheel and even the colour code sticker attached to the rear panel remains. The Ford jack in the hessian bag is present. Very close to a new showroom experience in 1980!

The original 1993cc SOHC engine has amazing attention to detail. The chassis number on the inner wing, original metal data plates, new engine stickers and black plastic bulkhead cover enable bonnet up exhibiting. A visit to Peter Burgess, automotive performance engineering specialists in Derbyshire, means the vehicle can run on unleaded fuel. Performance figures of 108.2mph top speed and 0-60 in just 8.5 seconds are more than respectable, even for modern standards. A 5-speed Type 9 gearbox has been professionally installed to enable relaxed touring and crisp gear changes.

Genuine machine polished RS alloy wheels with matching Pirelli Cinturato 175/70 R13 tyres including the spare are immaculate. Vacuum servo assisted front disc brakes with rear drums brakes offer fair braking but fall short of modern standards.

Supplied new by Ford Rallye Sport Dealers, The Hendy Lennox Group in Southampton on the 4th June 1980 this Mk2 RS2000 Custom has had just five former keepers.
