Factory Options; Metallic paint, alloy wheels size 6 x 14in. Dealer options; Power steering, Ford tailored rubber mats.

EXTERIOR
A beautifully clean, original and unspoilt example of a rare sporting hot cabriolet with the iconic XR3i name. Finished in factory optional Azure Blue Metallic with a Black vinyl roof, (Code TA4), the finish is uniform throughout with a stunning deep shine and the original soft-top roof in superb condition with no damage whatsoever. The colour keyed hood cover for use when the hood is lowered is present. Nothing other than very light touched in scratches and stone chips are visible. The panels on this example boast factory fitment with date stampings clearly visible and the underside is free from excessive underseal allowing easy inspection and revealing perfect structural integrity. Not only does this model have exhilarating looks with colour-coded trim, XR3i decals, and Ford driving lights, but 80% of the Cabriolet bodyshell panels were either new or modified to maintain strength and eliminate rattle when new. All glass is factory fitment with original stickers and the light clusters are genuine Carello and Ford fitment. The supplying Ford dealer number plates remain fitted. A prime example of a soft-top FastFord.

INTERIOR
With seating for up to five people, this model remains both a fun and practical option of open-top classic motoring. The supportive sports seats trimmed with Daytona fabric in Raven colour scheme, (Code SF), are in excellent condition and the colour keyed shark grey cut pile carpet has been protected from new by genuine Ford tailored ‘waffle’ rubber mats. The dashboard has and switchgear are in superb order and all functions and controls operate including the standard Ford ESRT 32P radio/cassette with electric aerial and roof mounted digital clock. The sports two-spoke steering wheel and gear knob still have natural veins visible thanks to the low miles. Truly beautiful and Ford perfection.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A delightfully crisp, responsive and free-revving 1.6 OHC (CVH) engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection produces 105bhp to achieve 0-60mph in 9.7 seconds and a top speed of 115mph. The engine bay presentation is excellent with original factory stickers, labels and panel stampings and would please the exhibitionist attending classic car shows. The five-speed gearbox is light and precise and aids the enthusiastic driving some XR3i drivers were known for.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory optional alloy wheels size 6 x 14in are in pristine condition with clearly defined lettering to the cast, the sharpness immediately lost upon refurbishment. Brand new in November 2021 are premium matching Dunlop SportBlueResponse 185/60 R14 tyres. The spare wheel remains shod in the factory fitted Dunlop SP Sport D8 tyre. The diagonally-split dual-line servo assisted brakes stop the car quickly and safely.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 17th November 1987 by Ford main dealers, Hooley’s Garage Ltd of Nottingham, the car was registered to a Mr Kemp of Arkwright Securities Ltd who specified when new factory options of metallic paint and alloys wheels.
