Full Description

An exceptional unmodified Citroen Saxo VTS with 52,971 miles and full Citroen history.

Sports styling with painted bumper skirts and wheel arch extensions, body colour door housing mirrors and handles, rear spoiler, tinted glass, front fog lights, driver and passenger airbag, side airbags, alarm, remote central locking, electric and heated door mirrors, slide/tilt sunroof, electric windows, oil and water temperature gauge, oil level gauge, white instrument dials, split folding rear seats, RDS radio with single CD player.

With an assertive sporting look this range topping VTS hot hatch is finished in Superlustre Wicked Red Metallic, (Code EKQD). Having covered just 52,971 miles from new with low owners, this example is simple stunning. The factory original paint finish is outstanding with a deep lustrous shine and uniform finish. Incredibly, the lightweight factory panels, (the unladen weight is only 935kg!), have escaped car park dings and the bumpers are virtually as new. There is a very light rub to one side trim strip, and miniscule markings do not detract from the near perfect finish. Unique 16v badging and the S inscription in yellow inform the knowledgeable this is the fastest most sought after Saxo and near impossible to find in factory standard specification. An unmolested marvel!

A wonderful testament to the care bestowed on this cherished car is the perfect condition of the fragile interior. The Crescendo velour upholstery only fitted to the VTS model is unmarked along with the door inserts. All carpeting is spotlessly clean as is the headlining and undamaged plastic trim. Full instrumentation including the VTS only oil temperature gauge on white dials remind the driver of the sporting credentials. The original RDS radio with single CD remains fitted and operational, and the factory paint code and data stickers remain affixed inside the driver’s door aperture. The boot area containing the wheel brace and towing eye is clean with only light marks to the entry metal lip. A pristine unspoilt interior.

The rev happy four cylinder 1.6 16 valve engine develops 120 BHP at 6000rpm to achieve a top speed of 127mph and 0-62mph in 7.7 seconds. No expense spared full Citroen Main Dealer servicing including a cambelt change in August 2017 has ensured superb mechanical performance, enabling the next owner to simply enjoy the thrill this car has to offer with piece of mind. The engine bay remains exactly as intended and displays factory stickers, plates and panel stampings. The five speed manual transmission offers light and direct changes with a sporty feel.

The factory fitted 15” alloy wheels remain in good condition with light markings. Matching premium Goodyear Eagle 195/45 R15 tyres are fitted to all four corners with excellent tread remaining. The ABS braking system is servo assisted with discs all round and ventilated upfront to provide safe assured stopping.

Supplied new on the 12th November 2002 by the pioneers of internet car sales, jamjarcars, this original example has covered just 52,971 miles from new. The original jamjarcars vehicle handover paperwork from when the car had covered just 9 miles along with the Citroen PDI checklist and warranty card have been kept in the history file which is every inch as incredible as the car itself! The colossal history folder contains a full documented Citroen Main dealer service history with 18 Citroen Main dealer invoices in addition to a documented cambelt change in August 2017 and just 12,000 on a replacement clutch. Furthermore, the original Citroen document wallet contains all handbooks, guides and point of sale literature as well as the stamped service book. Absolutely every MOT from the first in 2005 to present has also been kept! Two original Citroen keys come with the car to complete the history file, one which leaves in no doubt the no expense spared mentality to vehicle upkeep. Representing a very rare example of an often modified and abused hot hatch, this amazing and hugely entertaining Saxo VTS is without doubt one of the best in existence.
