EXTERIOR
This incredible MGF is finished in stunning factory optional Platinum Silver, (Code MNX), and boasts a bright shine from garaged storage and a very low 8,026 miles covered. The original paintwork is in beautiful preserved order with no panel damage whatsoever and mere light touched in markings, barely worthy of mention. The original woven acrylic fabric hood is immaculate and the plastic screen as new and perfectly clear. The rear tonneau cover and optional windstop are present. The expensive factory optional hardtop is in very good condition with only a few very light storage scratches. All trim, light clusters and badges are pristine and the correct orange indicator lenses denote an earlier car. This example will satisfy the most fastidious MG fanatic and must be one of the best surviving examples.

INTERIOR
Bristling with the high specification Combined Wood and Leather Interior Trim Pack, this example features full Black leather upholstery, (Code PUU), which is in beautiful condition commensurate with the exceptionally low mileage. The cut pile carpets have been protected since new by luxury floor mats and the ivory-coloured dials of the instrument binnacle with the MG logos recall traditional MG design cues and were only fitted to the early cars. The knowledgeable MG enthusiast will note the red line at 7250 rpm on the tachometer as fitted to the range topping 1.8i VVC model. All functions operate perfectly including the MG stereo cassette and quite remarkable is the bright door sill finishers still covered in factory cellophane! Both front and rear luggage areas are surprisingly spacious and spotless with the front housing an unused Goodyear spare wheel with coloured tyre banding and unused jack and even shows all factory plates, labels and PDI paint dabs! MG museum quality in all respects.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The desirable four-cylinder 1796cc VVC, (Variable Valve Control), engine produces 143bhp enabling a top speed of 130mph and 0-60 in just 7.0 seconds. The light weight body, mid-mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration possesses all the correct sports car credentials to ensure optimum driver delight. The short throw sports ratio five speed gearbox completes the package.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original and unrestored 15inch VVC style alloy wheels with the MG logo are in pristine condition with no damage whatsoever. Originality seekers will be pleased to see factory fitted Goodyear Eagle Touring tyres of size 185/55 R15 front and 205/50 R15 rear showing plenty of tread. If the vehicle is to be regularly driven the tyres should be replaced on age grounds with the originals retained. Ventilated front discs and solid rear discs with electronic anti-lock braking fitted as standard on the MGF 1.8i VVC offer positive straight-line stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 22nd March 1999 by Main Dealer, Lex Rover of Chelmsford, this desirable top of the range VVC model has covered just 8,026 miles from new. The first owner was a Mr Potter and there have been just two further keepers. All handbooks, guides and dealership point of sale literature are in the MG leather wallet along with the service book which despite the very low mileage, displays ten stamped entries and three documented cambelt changes. A documented service and cambelt and water pump change was carried out in November 2021 along with the VVC belt. Two sets of MG keys with remotes, code tags and dealer fobs are present. A separate folder contains new car handover documents, previous MOT certificates and main dealer service invoices to leave in no uncertainty that this is a cherished example. Completing the history file is an MGF range and accessories brochure. To find an unmolested, preserved and cherished MGF VVC with just 8,026 miles is a rare occurrence and the next lucky owner will enjoy the benefits of this fast-appreciating classic.
