SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A utilitarian and rare surviving Ford P100 with just 38,632 miles.

EQUIPMENT
Polycarbonate front bumpers and bodyside mouldings with Cobra Red inserts, rubberised rear quarter bumpers, cab protector frame with ladder stops, remote door mirrors, high security fuel filler cap, halogen headlamps, tinted glass, laminated windscreen, double skinned load box with ribbed floor, moulded nylon lashing points, 180 degree tailgate with 90 degree hold check straps, load mat in thick close fitting rubber, tonneau cover with support bows, cigar lighter, analogue clock, coin stowage tray, electronic Ford Keycode 2015 stereo/cassette, rear mudflaps. Dealer options; front mudflaps.

EXTERIOR
This fantastic Ford P100 Pick Up has been preserved in an incredible unspoilt condition. Owing to the inherent hard working life these vehicles were subjected to, few survive and virtually none remain as this example does. Finished in factory original Gentian Blue (code BKP), the uniform paint finish polishes up to a deep glossy shine guaranteed to amaze onlookers. Close inspection will reveal nothing more than minimal light scratches to the paintwork, barely noticeable. All factory panels are straight, damage free and display uniform gaps, and the bumpers and trims sections are excellent. Supplying dealer number plates and the original P100 side decals thankfully remain fitted, as does the security etched glass. With an incredibly clean and damage free load bed, it is justifiable to claim that this particular commercial vehicle has been somewhat workshy throughout it life, and even the rubber load mat, tonneau and support bows are as new! A humble, rugged and much revered classic Ford.

INTERIOR
Based on the instantly recognisable Sierra, this cabin space could to the untrained eye be mistaken for Ford’s ever popular range of family cars. However, subtle suggestions towards the robust commercial vehicle range are in the form of wipe clean vinyl door cards and sparse equipment levels to include a coin box in place of the digital clock and an analogue clock instead of the tachometer. This top spec Standard model featured comforts above the entry level Popular, namely Chequers cloth trim (code 2P), grey velour carpeting and a Ford Keycode 2015 radio cassette. The upholstery is pristine with no wear at all and the carpets are clean. The dashboard, switchgear and headlining are all perfect. The vinyl door cards have suffered the common shrinking in the sunlight but remain presentable. A very functional and well looked after interior that you cannot help but smile at.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This petrol version is fitted with the original 1993cc four cylinder OHC engine developing 77bhp at 4900rpm. Arguably more relevant than the performance figures is the maximum payload of 1013kg and load bed size of 2098mm by 1097mm! The engine bay is spotless and displays original wing stamps, plates and service stickers. The 5-speed gearbox is light and easy to use and the clutch is positive.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original 14 X 5½J steel wheels are immaculate and still have the small black Ford centre caps fitted. Correct specification and matching 185 R14C tyres have masses of tread remaining. Diagonally split dual-line servo assisted brakes feature a load apportioning valve along with 9.5” ventilated front discs and 10” rear drums to bring the vehicle up safely.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 29th January 1992 by Ford Main Dealers Busseys of Norwich, this un-abused example has covered a mere 38,631 miles from new. Inspection will simply amaze and the claim of cossetted ownership is clearly upheld. The history file contains the dealer supplied plastic A5 wallet with the original P100 handbook, operating guides and point of sale literature. A collection of invoices and receipts for service work completes the history file along with two sets of keys with keycode tags.

The ultimate dare to be different classic ford with the added appeal of increased rarity.
