A beautifully preserved Ford Sportka SE with one owner and just 25,223 miles.
Body colour bumpers, door mirrors and roof spoiler, front fog lamps, driver’s airbag, anti-lock brakes, rigid passenger safety cell, Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS), Thatcham Category 1 alarm, remote central locking, electric windows, opening rear vents, Model 6000 stereo/CD, SE Pack equipment; Air conditioning, dual-colour leather trimmed seats and vinyl door trim insert, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors. Factory options; Metallic paint. Dealer options; GT stripes, Ford tailored KA carpet mats.
Finished in factory original Imperial Blue, (Code T3), this cost option paintwork is in outstanding condition and boasts a deep uniform shine throughout. The bodywork is arrow straight and the common issue areas such as the sills, underside and fuel filler area are perfectly preserved. All trim sections, lights and badges are in very good order and the GT stripes, a genuine Ford dealership option fitted when the car was brand new, are bright and undamaged. Further originality is seen in the supplying Ford dealer number plates, rear screen sticker and tax disc holder. The underside and wheel arch apertures are very clean. Fast becoming highly collectable and extremely difficult to find with no corrosion advisories, this low-mileage example is vastly superior to the majority and a credit to its one owner from new.
Inside this sporting hot Ford, the optional SE Pack dual-colour leather trimmed upholstery, (Code FD), is spotlessly clean and in excellent condition, commensurate with the very low 25,223 miles covered. Only very light hairline creases to the leather on the driver’s seat bolster is worthy of mention. All interior trim is in superb order and to protect the carpets, the one owner from new ordered the car with a set of genuine Ford KA floor mats. Absolutely standard including the original model 6000 stereo system. The boot area and door apertures are very clean with manufacturer VIN label in the driver’s door shut and chassis stamping in the floor. An unmolested hot hatch Ford interior and great fun.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the punchy Ford 1.6 litre SOHC engine, the power output is quoted as 95bhp at 5500rpm and 135Nm maximum torque at 4250rpm. The maximum speed is 108mph while 0-60 is dispatched in just 10.5 seconds delivered through the Sportka standard Dynamic Sports set-up suspension with stiffened ride. The engine bay is very clean and unmolested with factory labels as well as the often-perished headlamp stickers. The standard 5-speed manual transmission is wonderfully tight and precise, perfect for quick and enthusiastic changes!
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Unique 6 spoke 16” alloy wheels are immaculate and all Ford chrome badged centre caps are pristine. Premium Continental ContiSportContact tyres of size 195/45 R16 are fitted all round and the steel spare wheel with Continental tyre has never been used. The factory jack and wheel brace are present. Anti-lock brakes (ABS) with front ventilated discs offer steady straight line stopping power for this performance hot hatch.
Registered new on the 30th June 2006 by Ford Main Dealers, EssexFord Group in Rayleigh, this prime example has covered just 25,223 miles from new with one owner. The vehicle handover documentation and letters are addressed to the only owner and the V5 registration document lists zero former keepers. A letter from the family of the owner states that all servicing was carried out annually by him as he was fastidious about maintaining the car and wished to do it himself being a retired engineer. A major service has just been carried out by KGF Classic Cars in November 2021 using genuine Ford parts, fluids and filters. The front suspension arms have also just been replaced, again using brand new genuine Ford components. The Ford zip up document wallet houses the handbook and full book pack as well as the service book and two sets of Ford remote keys. A folder containing recent servicing invoices and an original Ford Sportka sales brochure complete the history file. Representing the next generation of collectable fast Fords, it is very difficult to fault this car amongst a rapidly depleting pool to choose from.
