EXTERIOR
This outstanding high specification Rover 75 Connoisseur is finished in factory original Copperleaf Red Pearlescent, (Code CDX), a cost option specified when ordered new. Having covered a warranted low 8,578 miles from new, the paint finish is simply stunning and boasts a deep polished shine and uniform finish. All factory panels are arrow straight and only a tiny ding to the front nearside wing and some touched-in scratches. The underside is beautifully clean and still displays PDI markings, long lost on most examples. Further originality is seen with the supplying dealer number plates, windscreen sticker and tax disc holder still fitted. The typical Rover Connoisseur embellishing’s of chrome have a mirror finish and this example will satisfy anyone seeking an exceptionally well preserved and uber low mileage Rover 75.
INTERIOR
The factory fitted and premium Connoisseur specification full leather interior is trimmed in Sandstone Beige, (Code SCF). Immensely comfortable and sumptuous, the beautiful upholstery is commensurate with the incredibly low mileage with no visible wear or markings whatsoever. The matching carpets are pristine having been protected since showroom handover by Rover tailored rubber over mats and both the door cards and headlining are as new. The highest levels of luxury continue with leather trimmed touch points including the immaculate cream steering wheel and lashings of real wood burr walnut finishing’s, fitted to earlier cars before imitation wood came in use. All controls and functions operate perfectly including the Connoisseur specification dual climate control and electrically adjustable heated front seats. The boot area is spotless and the tool kit housed in the spare wheel cavity is still wrapped in clear film! A pristine and luxurious interior, you could almost think you have been comfortably transported back to a Rover showroom in 2001!
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The silky-smooth Rover V6 24 valve Quad Cam engine features the Variable Intake System (VIS) and produces 148bhp and 185Nm peak torque enabling a top speed of 130mph and 0-60mph in 10.2 seconds. Incredibly and unusual for a car having covered such low mileage, there are 11 Rover/MG main dealer stamped entries in the service book confirming that the car has covered less than 1,000 miles between each service and the running and performance is absolutely perfect, smooth and quiet. The engine bay is pristine and displays factory PDI dabs and bright stickers. The five-speed manual gearbox operates perfectly.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory upgraded and unrestored multi-spoke style alloy wheels are in superb order with no kerb markings and are shod in matching brand 215/55 ZR16 tyres fitted brand new in 2021. The Anti-lock braking system (ABS) features Electronic Brake Distribution and the braking components are perfect in both condition and operation.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 3rd September 2001 by Hereford Rover, this example has been family owned from new until 2021 and has covered a fully verified 8,578 miles from new. A new vehicle order form and sales invoice in the history file is made out to first owner, Mr Newman, who purchased the car for £17,984.55 including factory specified options and less part exchange allowance for his 1995 Volvo 460. Mr Newman owned the car until 2017 where upon his passing it was inherited by his family who have all enjoyed the car for the last four years. The original service book contains 11 Rover/MG entries from the supplying main dealer, the most recent in 2020 at 7,187. A documented timing belt change has been carried out with stamped entry in the service book again from the supplying main dealership. The original handbooks, guides and instruction pamphlets are contained in the black leather Rover wallet. The supporting service invoices, previous MOT certificates and even welcome letters from Rover to Mr Newman are in the history file along with both sets of remote keys and a Rover 75 range brochure.
