This incredible range topping BMW 535i Sport Auto has been amazingly cherished and preserved in original time warp condition owing to the remarkably low miles covered and careful indoor storage. The factory applied paint finished in desirable BMW Dolphin Grey Metallic, (code 184), boasts an astonishing bright shine and polished finish.  All panels are original, straight and damage free.  Bright metal work can be seen to the underside through the clear factory wax thanks to dry, low mileage use only.  All exterior trim, including the BMW Motor sport full spoiler equipment, glass and lights remain in pristine order.  A classic E34 offering, almost certainly unsurpassed in this condition and quite possibly the best.  Manufacturer museum quality.

The driver-orientated ergonomically designed interior showcases exemplary craftsmanship.  The BMW sports seats trimmed in Silver cord-flock upholstery (code 0280) are simply perfection and the M Technic leather sports steering wheel is as new.  The original velour carpeting has been protected by dealer fitted over mats from new.  As you sit in the driving seat behind the driver inclined dashboard, the showroom fresh appeal of this brilliant car becomes ever so apparent.  The soft skin surface dashboard and incorporated switchgear are in flawless condition, with all functions operating as intended.  A period mobile phone cradle remains neatly installed in the centre console.  The owner also specified a Dealer fit high-level brake light be installed.  The untouched first aid kit still in its cellophane wrapper continues the real ‘as new’ feel of this car.  A complete unused toolkit is correctly housed inside the boot lid and even has the two locking wheel keys in an unopened clear bag.

The 3.5 litre straight six cylinder power unit is the supreme engine in the range with outstanding flexibility and power reserves.  211bhp and 305Nm of torque enable a top speed of 144mph and 0-60mph in 8.8 seconds.  A concours champion in the making with all factory markings and wax laid bare to see.  If the vehicle is to be put into regular use then recommissioning is advised.  The wonderfully smooth optional EH automatic transmission with sport, economy and winter modes together with near perfect 50/50 weight distribution firmly uphold BMW’s renown for sheer driving pleasure.

To complement the looks and performance the 535i Sport has 195 TR 415 unmarked cross spoke alloy wheels with factory supplied Michelin TRX 240/45 ZR415 tyres.  These have ample tread with no cracks to the tyre walls.  Four large disc brakes with Anti-lock brake system are standard. It is advised if the vehicle is to put into use that tyres and brakes are replaced as they are original fitment items.

Ordered in January, manufactured in March 1990 and registered on the 11th April 1990 by BMW Main Agents, Hungerford Garages Ltd, this incredible example has had just the one private keeper from new.  Perfectly stored and used only in fine weather, the amazingly low 9,498 miles is clearly evident for all to see. It was so adored by the owner that an ‘everyday’ car was purchased.  Feeling that it should be used, it was taxed and MoTed it in anticipation of using it, but as it became more and more of a survivor, it remained unused.  All handbooks are pristine and contained within the immaculate grey A5 folder with dealer business cards inserted.  The service book has some entries and a collection of 13 MOT certificates are included.  A full complement of keys are present on the supplying dealer key fob along with sales literature from the point of purchase.  This example is certain to delight the classic BMW aficionado appreciative of the E34 marque, seeking an unmolested factory standard showpiece worthy of the BMW Museum in Munich.
