EQUIPMENT

Factory options; Anti-lock braking system, windstop.

EXTERIOR
This classic MGF in factory optional Anthracite Metallic, (Code LQW), has covered an incredibly low 7,399 miles from new with just one owner! The paint finish boasts a beautiful deep polished shine and uniform finish as you would expect from a car of such exceptionally low mileage. All factory panels are arrow straight with no dings, damage or distortion. The woven acrylic fabric hood is as new and the plastic screen completely clear. The underside is very clean and still displays factory PDI markings, long lost on most examples and it has not been spoilt applied underseal found on many examples. All trim sections, glass, lights and badges are pristine. This example will satisfy anyone seeking an unmolested, preserved and uber low mileage MGF.

INTERIOR
The factory fitted Black Mirage cloth interior, (Code WEW), looks superb and the door cards are as new with none of the common fabric distortion found on many MGF’s. There are some very light markings to the driver’s seat. The cut pile carpets are immaculate and the chunky small steering wheel boasts the unworn preserved state found only on very low mileage examples. All functions and controls operate perfectly including an upgrade stereo unit. The factory fitted MG stereo has been kept and can be refitted for complete originality. Both front and rear luggage areas are surprisingly spacious and spotless with the front housing the jack and an unused spare wheel still with tyre label! There are even factory PDI paint dabs still visible! An unspoilt sports car interior.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The four-cylinder 1589cc engine produces 112bhp at 6250rpm and 145Nm torque at 4700rpm enabling a top speed of 116mph and 0-60 in just 9.3 seconds. The mid-mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration possesses all the correct sports car credentials to ensure optimum driver delight. A major recommission service has just been carried out including the required cam belt and water pump to help ensure optimum running and durability. The short throw sports ratio five speed gearbox completes the package.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original and unrestored 15inch eight-spoke style alloy wheels with the MG logo are in wonderful condition with no kerb damage whatsoever and only a tiny scratch to one wheel spoke, barely noticeable. Originality seekers will be delighted to see the factory fitted Goodyear Eagle Touring tyres of size 185/55 R15 front and 205/50 R15 rear. If the car is to be put into regular use, it is advised that the tyres are replaced on age grounds with important emphasis on retaining the original items for avid collectors. Ventilated front discs and solid rear discs with factory optional electronic anti-lock braking offer positive straight-line stopping power. Brand new brake discs and pads have just been fitted in October 2021.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 31st December by MG Rover Main Dealers, Mill Rover Sunderland, 2001, this example was pre-registered by the dealership and then purchased 18 days later by the one and only private owner, a gentleman who purchased the car as a surprise for his wife which also included a cherished four-digit private plate. Initially the dealership visit was to buy a Rover 25 but this MGF was sat gleaming in the showroom next to the Salesman’s desk and he instantly fell in love with it! They have owned the car ever since and the difficult decision to sell is due to a house move and loss of garage space. After a period of long-term storage, a full recommission major service has been carried out in October 2021 to include a full engine service with spark plugs, cambelt, water pump, coolant and brake fluid. The original handbooks, guides and instruction pamphlets are contained in the black leather MG wallet along with both sets of keys with remote alarm fobs and code tags. Completing the history file is a collectable MG full range sales brochure from 2001.

A highly collectable, unspoiled and prized MGF, wanting for nothing and ready for summer entertainment!
