A special order Jaguar XJS 4.0 Insignia with 37,294 miles, one of only 64 made.

EQUIPMENT
Front and rear crumple zones, frameless door glass, halogen headlamps, black front grille, wrap around bumpers, enamel bonnet badge, burr walnut veneer fascia, matchwood inlays, ‘secret till lit’ warning lamps, adjustable steering wheel, driver and passenger airbags, stainless steel treadplates, wooden steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats, electric windows, kerb lamps, heated washer jets, electric heated door mirrors, air conditioning, boot lamp. EXTERIOR
This incredibly rare special order XJS is one of only 64 cars prepared and hand finished by craftsmen at the Insignia Program at Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), with only 7 RHD XJS 4.0 cars made. The Insignia option was designed to allow buyers to stipulate unique paint options, wheels and higher grade leather trim. This stunning example was commissioned in striking Peppermint (code HFM/831), an exceptionally rare colour that accentuates the elegant XJS lines beautifully. Only close scrutiny will reveal imperfections, namely touched in chips to the driver’s door mirror and front nearside bumper corner. All further trim sections including the special side Jaguar embossed rubbing strips are in excellent order, and the chromework is beautifully preserved. A truly unique XJS worthy of the Pride and Joy Class Winner trophy at the 2015 Ickworth Eastern Day.

INTERIOR
A sumptuous and luxurious interior is simply beautiful trimmed in the special Insignia upgrade Magnolia (code AEM) semi analine leather, and the sports electric seats are every bit as comfortable and supportive as they look. The driver’s seat has previously been refurbished and minor wear to the out bolster is barely noticeable. Hand-polished figured burr walnut veneers and matchwood inlays are a further touch of class and remain factory perfect. The headlining is tight and clean and completely free from common sagging issues, and the sumptuous Wilton carpets have been protected from new by Jaguar tailored over mats. All the controls, switches and gauges function perfectly including the factory fitted Jaguar stereo unit. The carpeted boot area shows minimal use with tool case and original jack present. The ultimate luxury interior, prepared exclusively for the discerning XJS customer.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The trusted 4.0 litre AJ6 DOHC engine produces 238bhp and 282Nm of torque to offer power and refinement with 0-60mph despatched in 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 137mph. The standard four-speed automatic transmission with switchable Normal and Sport modes is seamless. The ultimate grand tourer with superlative XJS refinement guaranteed.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted unrestored five spoke 16in sports alloys wheel remain in near perfect condition and are shod in quality correct Pirelli P6000 tyres with excellent tread remaining. The electronically controlled anti-lock braking system with YAW control grips relentlessly to all four discs offering safe, consistent and dependable stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Main Dealers Appleyard Jaguar Bradford on the 12th January 1994 with an list price of £39,319, the first owner Mr Peter Riley remarkably kept the car for over twenty years, with just two further keepers since. The extensive history file comprises of every MOT from new to fully document the incredibly low 37,294 miles covered, as well as the original service schedule displaying a host of main dealer and specialist stamps. The most recent service entry was in 2015 with only 1,000 miles covered since, and a comprehensive vehicle inspection commissioned by the previous owner prior to service is included. A large box file contains many supporting service and maintenance invoices as well as both leather wallets containing all handbooks, guides and point of sale material. A Jaguar heritage certificate obtained by the previous owner in 2015 upholds the cars authenticity and a cherished registration L**XJS is included with the sale. Completing the history file is a host of Insignia sales material and the September Jaguar World magazine feature where this actual car was reviewed. Undoubtedly one of the rarest and most intriguing XJS’ to be made and beautifully preserved as it deserves, one for the true enthusiast.
