EXTERIOR
Finished in metallic Charcoal, (Code LQW), the paintwork has a bright polished finish which reflects the low owner garaged storage. Key styling features such as the Rover grille with chrome surround emphasise the cars heritage and work beautifully with more modern sporting features. All trim is complete and in good order and the bodywork shows a few touch ups and stone chips commensurate with the age. The electric hood is immaculate having been professionally replaced and the rear screen is crystal clear. A rare model in wonderful condition and ready for many retro outings!

INTERIOR
The plush interior of this genuine four-seater cabriolet is finished in striking Red Piccadilly, (Code CDH) and is in excellent condition with no excess wear or damage. The soft curves of the facia and centre console welcome you inside with no warping and all controls, displays and gauges work correctly. The optional electric hood is a welcome feature and the tonneau cover is present but has foam degrade. The Rover chrome door entry sills and Burr Walnut facia hark back to traditional values but with high standard specification and modern accessories such as a Parrott Bluetooth telephone system and rear parking sensors to make daily use fun and safe. The boot area is clean with a few minor marks to the carpet and incredibly the jack and wheel brace are stilled wrapped in the cellophane protection having never been opened! All the pleasures of open-top motoring. Enjoy the view!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the K-Series 16v double overhead camshaft engine with electronic multi-point fuel injection, this 1589cc unit develops 111bhp at 6000rpm and 145Nm torque at 3000rpm. This is enough to achieve a top speed of 115mph and 0-60 is dealt with in an impressive 9.7 seconds. This well maintained example delivers responsive acceleration and a civilised driving manner. The engine bay is very clean and displays factory stickers and labels. A full cambelt kit and water pump was carried out in September 2018 at 24,817 miles. Gear changes via the 5 speed manual box are light and precise, affirming once more the cars low mileage credentials.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Optional sports alloy wheels are immaculate except for one tiny mark to the passenger front and are shod in premium GoodYear Efficient Grip 185/55 R15 tyres with excellent tread having been fitted new in 2019. Rover center caps are bright and display the logo proudly and the spare wheel is still the factory Pirelli P600 unused item. Diagonally split and dual-circuit servo assisted brakes offer assured straight line stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new on the 29th March 1999 by Rover Main Dealers, Bole Bridge Garage Ltd of Tamworth, this example has had just two former keepers from new and covered a documented low 28,097 miles. The first keeper Mrs S Breslin cherished the vehicle until 2005 when Mr John Clay purchased it directly from her and continued the regular servicing and upkeep with all invoices and stamped service entries to prove. In 2018 Mr Clay transferred ownership to his son, Mr James Clay wishing for the car to remain in the family and invested £1,075 in a major service, cambelt kit and clutch kit wanting the car to pass over in perfect condition. Used sparingly for classic car shows and retro fun outings the car comes complete with all handbooks, spare keys and a sales brochure. The brown leather A5 Rover wallet contains business cards, Rover assistance card and engine immobilisation card. The original service book is stamped and includes the separate Dealer Courtesy Check sheet. This wonderful rare car is perfect for the modern Rover enthusiast and will make the ideal topless modern classic.
