Front quarter bumpers, black painted aluminium grille, flared Clubman Pack wheel arches, strengthened chassis rails, strengthened flitch plates, Safety Devices roll cage, single leaf rear springs with turreted GP4 Bilstein shock absorbers, Bilstein front struts with roller top mounts, anti-tramp bar and panard rod, RS2000 rear axle with 3.5 differential, boot mounted battery, Ashley sports exhaust, six dial 140mph sports dash, SAP Design microprocessor speedo, bias adjustable brake pedal box, passenger footrest, anti-burst locks, front sports bucket seats, black headlining, RS three spoke steering wheel, heater fan, two speed wiper, courtesy light, hazard lights.

Finished in vibrant Daytona Yellow, this incredible Mexico recreation is visually every part a genuine example to all but the most conversant RS Mexico aficionados. The impeccable paint finish is truly outstanding and would stand up to even the most extreme scrutiny with a wonderful glossy sheen. Incredible detailing extends to the underside of the car which is finished in body colour and the spotless engine bay displays the same high level of finish gaining upmost awe from onlookers. Evidence of recently removed mudflaps can be seen and the driver and passenger front glass is marked. The chrome, glass, and badges are in immaculate order, as are the contrasting original specification Mexico side and roof decals. The ultimate marriage of period correct styling and exceptional craftsmanship.

The interior of this vehicle has not escaped the painstaking program of refurbishment having been retrimmed by respected Aldridge Trimming based in Wolverhampton. Matching spotless black carpeting, door cards and headlining compliment the interior immensely. The pristine RS three spoke sports steering wheel is present and the six dial instrument binnacle offers amazing feedback with a digital speedo replacing the analogue item still fitted. The wood veneer is presented in excellent order. The boot area is able to carry full size spare with the correctly positioned battery housed as per the earlier Mexico’s manufactured.

A detailed power plant that is guaranteed to both delight and excite! This beautiful Ford Escort Mexico conversion has a C20XE Redtop engine built to a high standard. A pair of Weber 45DCOE carburettors offer a glorious induction note while the Ashley sports exhaust emits a crisp bark that is intoxicating and addictive. Power is tested at 150bhp at the rear wheels. A Tran-X 4-speed straight cut gearbox offers a solid one piece selector finger and quickshift gearlever to offer precise solid changes.

Period Superlite 13X7 polished alloy wheels with chrome centre Ford caps are shod in matching 205/60 R13 tyres. The brakes have been fully uprated to 247mm vented, drilled and grooved front discs with 4 piston callipers and for the rear are RS2000 9 inch drums with an adjustable bias brake pedal box control should the desire to misbehave prevail!

Registered new on the 1st July 1973 as a humble Escort 1100 Base, this car lead an unassuming but cherished life until being purchased by Mr Colin Waine. Mr Waine embarked upon an incredible quest to recreate a Ford legend with a modern twist and this car is a true spectacle of talent.
