EXTERIOR
The elegant sleek lines of this W124 Mercedes-Benz pillar-less coupe are utterly breath taking and this E220CE Sportline example is a fantastic testament to this design classic.  Finished in original Smoke Silver (code 702) the paintwork boasts an impeccable bright polished shine and uniform finish.  The factory panels are pin straight and only the bonnet shows a few touched in stone chips, and one tiny chip to the rear nearside wing edge is barely noticeable.  All trims sections, chrome dressings and Sportline badges are intact and pristine.  The rear screen has evidence of mild delamination to the internal edges which does nothing to detract from the cars overall striking appearance.  A beautifully clean and original engine bay displays all the factory stickers and plates.  The boot area houses the fifth alloy spare wheel alongside the toolkit and jack and factory build stickers displayed.  A sublime example of this four seat coupe synonymous with exceptional Mercedes-Benz build quality.

INTERIOR
Luxury and opulence in abundance, a cabin space that was, and in many ways still is, hugely ahead of its time.  Features such as electrically adjustable head restraint height to compliment the electric front seats as well as the automatic seat belt feeders hint towards the ‘over engineering’ of the Mercedes-Benz W124.  The contoured seats trimmed in original Mushroom Leather (code 265) are ergonomically designed for optimum comfort with lateral support and seat-suspension designed to harmonise with the vehicles actual suspension.  The upholstery with matching doors cards is in exceptional order and spotlessly clean, and the pristine carpets have been protected from new by Mercedes tailored floor mats.  The perfect fascia composed of expensive high quality materials hosts an array of technological advancements and functions, all of which operate seamlessly.  Even the original first aid kit is complete and housed in the rear shelf compartment!  An outstanding classic Mercedes-Benz interior, the epitome of the maker’s reputation for engineering prowess.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the Mercedes four cylinder 16v unit of 2199cc displacement, the engine produces 150bhp at 5500rpm and 210Nm of torque at 4000rpm.  A top speed of 128mph and 0-62 in 10.6 seconds is achieved in effortless near silence from this exceptionally smooth powerplant.  Fastidious Mercedes-Benz Main Dealer and specialist servicing throughout has ensured this incredible example maintains optimum performance.  The four speed Tempomat automatic transmissions operates exactly as the manufacturer intended with smooth changes and positive kickdown.  Sheer motoring indulgence.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory optional AMG five spoke alloy wheels are in fantastic order and add further excitement to this Sportline edition.  Only very faint and minimal lacquer lift can be seen upon very close scrutiny and the front offside wheel has some light scratches to the outer rim.  Matching correct Pirelli Cinturato P6 tyres all round have good tread remaining and the spare is still shod in the original Pirelli item.  Dual-circuit servo braking system with vacuum booster and anti-lock assistance (ABS) offers excellent straight line stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new and first registered on 21st August 1995 in Singapore, this UK example remained there until being imported to the UK with a DVLA date of first registration being 29th July 1998.  Upon arrival in the UK a brand new zero mileage MPH odometer was fitted to replace the original unit showing 18,201 miles.  The replacement is documented in both the history file and the service booklet and the current mileage showing of 84,281 is fully supported by every UK MOT certificate from 1998, in addition to the initial 18,201 miles covered.  The history file further consists of 14 Mercedes Main Dealer and specialist stamps in the service booklet, the most recent entry being October 2014.  A colossal file of supporting service invoices and receipts clearly outlines the fastidious servicing this stunning example has enjoyed, installing absolute peace of mind and inherent confidence in the cars cosseted existence.

Completing the wonderful history file is the Mercedes-Benz document wallet containing all handbooks and guides as well as an original sales brochure and two sets of remote keys.  KGF Classic Cars are proud to present this impeccably maintained, unmolested example ready for the next discerning keeper to appreciate and preserve.
