SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

An outstanding Honda Civic 1.4 16v GL with 7,772 miles and 21 Honda stamps.

EQUIPMENT
Power sunroof with sunshade, steel safety cage, front and rear energy absorbing crumple zones, body colour bumpers, halogen headlights, rear window wiper/washer, remote boot and fuel filler release, electric front windows, electric door mirrors, opening rear vents, 50:50 split back seats, tachometer, cigar lighter, Honda National CQ-SH172A radio cassette. Factory options; 4-speed automatic transmission, power assisted steering. Dealer options; Security immobiliser.

EXTERIOR
This extraordinary Honda Civic has been owned from new until April 2021 by one lady owner and has covered 7,771 miles. To say this example has been cherished is a huge understatement with the car having been serviced no less than 21 times at the supplying Honda main dealer! Finished in factory original Frost White, (Code NH-538), the paint finish is simply stunning with a near flawless uniform finish thanks to its pampered garaged lifestyle. The bodywork is pin straight and nothing other than small scratches to the door mirrors and a very light scuff to the front bumper rubbing strip can be seen. The supplying Honda dealer numberplates remain fitted, as is the factory stickered glass and labels within door shuts. It is quite difficult to distinguish this amazing Civic from a 1991 showroom display vehicle.

INTERIOR
The interior of this cossetted example is beautifully clean and in superb order. The original two-tone Grey weave fabric upholstery, described by Honda in the marketing literature as ‘Kid tough yet teddy bear soft’, is spotless with just a tiny nick to the fabric by the driver’s seat folding lever. The carpets, door cards and the headlining are perfect. Ultra-low mileage traits are seen in the steering wheel which still have prominent and defined natural veins. The instantly recognisable and superbly laid out Honda fascia and incorporated switchgear is as new and all functions operate seamlessly including the original Honda National CQ-SH172A radio cassette. Door apertures are spotlessly clean with factory waxoil evident on hinges. Likewise, the immaculate load space boasts an unmarked parcel shelf and carpet underneath which the boot floor is as new. Clean, fresh and totally unspoilt.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Legendary reliability and precise mechanicals are long associated with the Honda brand and this renown could not be more appropriate to the D-Series (D14A1) 1396cc 16V unit fitted to this 1.4GL model. Developing 90bhp and 112Nm of torque, this lively engine is beautifully quiet and smooth and operates with absolute dependability having been subject to 24 documented services despite the low mileage, 21 of which were carried out at the supplying Honda main dealer. The pristine engine bay features all factory stickers, plates, PDI markings and even fragile paper labels fully intact as well as the bulkhead VIN stamping clearly legible. The factory optional four-speed gearbox offers even more relaxed and effortless cruising.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original Honda GL full wheel covers are fully intact and in excellent condition with light scratches visible to one trim. All tyres are matching branded 175/70 R13 with masses of tread and excellent rubber condition. The space saving spare wheel is unused and the original jack and tool roll are untouched and as new. The power assisted brakes incorporate front discs to bring the car up straight and steady.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 22nd October 1991 by Honda Main Dealer, Sheaf Motors of Sheffield, the car has just two registered keepers and was purchased by Mrs Langworth who owned the car until April 2021! The car was Mrs Langworth’s pride and joy as was used only sparingly in retirement and strictly garaged at all other times. Despite the low mileage, there are 24 stamped service entries across three service books, 21 of which are the supplying Honda main dealer! The most recent service was carried out in September 2020 at 7,650 miles and the cambelt was changed in September 2019 at 7,510 miles. Accompanying the stamped service books is a huge folder containing every element of documentation from the original blue V5 and Honda PDI certificate to every supporting Honda dealer service invoice and checklist as well as previous MOT certificates. Such was Mrs Langworth’s dedication to the upkeep of her Civic, she was even still taking out Honda three-year service plans up to 2015! Completing the history file is a 1991 Civic range sales brochure along with two original Honda keys both with Sheaf Motors of Sheffield fobs.

It is difficult to imagine the existence of a more original, preserved and cosseted classic Honda Civic with such unrepeatable credentials, let alone find one available for sale. Be quick and grab a slice of modern classic Honda history.
