Factory options; Mica/Metallic paint. Mazda dealer accessories; Mazda SVT Sport alloy wheels, rear spoiler

EXTERIOR
This truly exceptional Mazda MX-5 is finished in factory original Evolution Orange Mica/Metallic, (Code 18K), a cost option when ordered from new and the signature colour for the Mk2 upon its launch (sometimes also referred to as Racing Bronze). Having covered a remarkably low 19,571 miles from new, this garaged and cherished example is positively incomparable to most offerings. The stunning paintwork boasts a near impeccable finish will delight even the most meticulous scrutineer. A tiny touched in scratch to the bonnet edge and some miniscule dings to the driver’s door are barely even worthy of mention and all trim sections and bumpers are immaculate. The underside reflects the very minimal use and the wheel arch lips display the correct factory spot welds. The black canvas hood is in perfect order with a tight fit and the much-improved original glass rear screen is heated. Factory labels remain within the door shuts to further uphold the originality. The epitome of a modern classic sports car, preserved to the highest order.

INTERIOR
Trimmed in the standard Black Cloth upholstery, (Code NBO), the interior is reflective of its low mileage and cherished existence. The seats remain in near perfect order with exception of a tiny nick to the lower edge of the driver’s seat, virtually indetectable. The urethane steering wheel and gear knob show prominent factory veins only found on extraordinary low mileage examples and the classic sports dashboard houses a cluster of crystal-clear instruments that function precisely and retain a new car feel. The untouched tool kit, wheel brace and unused space saver wheel and the tonneau are all present and spotlessly clean in the pristine luggage area where even the boot carpet still wears its factory part label! A modern stereo system with hands-free telephone connectivity has been professionally installed with the original Sony unit retained with the car. Almost as good as new!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
To experience driving a well maintained and cared for Mazda MX-5 is a true motoring delight and this 1.8i model features the 140bhp engine, the most powerful in the range. The lightweight 1.8i litre 16v DOHC unit sits in a truly immaculate engine bay which will amaze onlookers with a level of perfect originality rarely seen. The engine is very lively and power flow very smooth with a top speed of 127mph and 0-62mph in 8.0 seconds. The phenomenal close ratio short throw gearbox provides rapid and precise gear changes.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This exceptional Mazda has been upgraded with the 5-spoke Mk2.5 SVT Sport alloy wheels from the Mazda accessories range. The wheels are in flawless condition and all tyres are matching Toyo Proxes TR1 205/45 R16, fitted brand new in October 2020 and as per Mazda MX-5 Owners Club recommendation. Ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the back install maximum braking confidence.

HISTORY FILE
This amazing example was registered new by Mazda Main Dealers, Robinsons Garage Ltd of Leicester, on the 17th September 1999. The first owner, Mrs Nicola Heatherley, owned the car for over 20 years until in 2020 she advertised the car for sale. Mr Michael Chawner, a Mazda MX-5 Owners Club member and avid enthusiast contacted her and promptly bought the car. With his vast knowledge of these iconic cars, he knew when he had found a good one! In January 2021 Mr Chawner saw a low mileage Mazda Mk1 MX-5 1.8iS being advertised here at KGF Classic Cars and knew straight away it was the exact model and colour he had coveted for years and so had to have it. The difficult decision to part with this Mk2 example was sweetened by the arrival of his Mk1 which became his tenth MX-5!

The history file consists of absolutely all handbooks, manuals and dealership point of sale literature along with three sets of keys neatly contained in the black leather Mazda wallet. The original service booklet is present and the most recent service entry was in 2020 at 18,595 miles and a documented cambelt and water pump change was carried out at same time. A further folder containing invoices and MOT certificates further document the care and attention this example has enjoyed through its life with just two owners and the 19,571 miles covered. Completing the history file is an original Mazda MX5 range brochure and price list. It is virtually impossible to find such an original, low mileage and low owner MX-5, and KGF Classic Cars are delighted to be able to present this stunning example ready for a new lucky custodian.
