INTERIOR
The driver-orientated ergonomically designed interior showcases exemplary craftsmanship.  The cloth upholstery optional sports seats trimmed in Pearl Beige cloth, (Code 0158), are in superb order and are a testament to the fastidious ownership and very low mileage this example has enjoyed.  A minuscule and very faint mark to the driver’s seat base is visible.  The immaculate driver inclined dashboard proudly displays the Alpina Dash Board Plaque reminding the driver of engineering excellence.  Additional Alpina features include the badged leather steering wheel and gearknob as well as the logo instruments.  A complete toolkit with fuses and bulbs still in the foam holder is housed inside the boot lid, and the original jack, wheel brace and full first aid kit remain in the boot area.  Even the genuine optional BMW boot tidy tray has been retained!  The dealer fitted Sansui Acoustic Research Stereo and graphic equaliser are a delight to see!  Two sets of tailored BMW carpet and rubber floor mats have preserved the original carpet beautifully.  An exceptional classic BMW interior.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The standard M30 528i straight six cylinder engine was upgraded as part of the conversion with the Alpina B9 type exhaust system, and the power output measured an impressive 192bhp at 5800rpm.  Alpina springs and Bilstein gas dampers were further advancements from the standard 528i specification.  The engine bay is spotless and displays all factory stickers, plates and stampings, as well as identification plates for easy inspection.  The standard five speed Getrag 260 overdrive gearbox is a joy to operate and the factory optional limited slip differential has regular documented oil changes in the history file to ensure optimum operation.  The ultimate driving machine.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Specially developed light weight Alpina 16in rims are shod in matching and correct Goodyear Eagle F1 205/55 ZR16 tyres up front and 225/50 R16 tyres at the rear with masses of tread remaining.  Only faints markings are visible and the black centre infills are as intended.  The brakes incorporate 285mm discs all round, ventilated to front, to enable straight and steady stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
This exceptional example, one of only four of the remaining cars known to theALPINAregister.com, (Click here for details), has covered just 29,643 miles from new under dedicated enthusiast ownership.  Built in September 1984, this example is one of the last Henna Red E28 cars to be produced prior to the introduction of Zinnober Red.  First registered on 16th October 1984 by BMW Main Dealers, Almondbury Garage Ltd of Huddersfield, the Alpina B2.8 conversion carried out when new was done to correct Buchloe specification, Buchloe being the town and headquarters of Alpina in Bavaria.  The genuine and exceptionally low mileage of 29,643 miles is verified in the comprehensive history file.  The original BMW service record displays 15 stamps, the first six being the supplying dealer and specialists thereon, and the most recent entry being Main Dealer Sycamore BMW of Peterborough in February 2017.  Even the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) sheet has been retained!  The dealer supplied plastic clip wallet contains all handbooks, guides, stereo instructions and dealer staff business cards.  The history file further consists of a larger folder containing many specialist invoices, receipts and MOT certificates to absolutely verify the low mileage covered.  Two remote keys and a third spare are in addition to the original leather BMW key pouch holding the master and key code tag.

This example is certain to delight the classic BMW aficionado appreciative of the Alpina marque, seeking an unmolested and very rare showpiece.
