This awesome flagship VW Golf R32 is finished in Diamond Black Pearl Effect, (Colour Code LC9Z). A deep gloss shine and uniform finish reflect the garage storage and cherished low ownership this car has enjoyed. Minor markings commensurate with the mileage can be seen with light scratches and touched in frontal stone chips. All unique trim is fully intact and light clusters are bright and clear. This R32 looks superb and is fast becoming the modern classic white-hot hatchback.

Factory optional Black Leather upholstery with R32 embossment, (Code YZ), to the ergonomically crafted König Sports seats offer immense comfort and support and are in excellent condition. The R32 floor mats have protected the carpets and remain very clean. The three spoke leather steering wheel and aluminium pedals with R32 logo and 4Motion gear knob are clues this model is very special with only slight wear. All equipment and controls are perfect in condition and operation, including the climate control and heated front seats. The brushed aluminium is unmarked and the fascia is excellent order. The boot area is clean and the moulded polystyrene holder contains the full wheel changing equipment including the air compressor.

Special features of this first incarnation Golf R32 are the V6 3.2litre engine, 20mm lowered sports suspension and 6-speed 4-Motion transmission with sophisticated all-wheel drive system. In addition, an array of electronic driver aids help to best exploit the awesome power of 240bhp and 320Nm of torque at just 2800rpm! A top speed of 153mph is quoted along with 0-62mph in just 6.6 seconds sounding glorious through a desirable Milltek rear silencer. The engine bay is clean and exactly as Volkswagen intended with all factory stickers and plates intact. The slick 6-speed manual short-throw gearbox is perfectly matched to this powerful, sure footed driving machine.

Unique 18-inch Aristo alloy wheels are in good order having been refurbished with no curbing and matching Bridgestone Potenza 225/40 R18 tyres to all four corners show ample tread. Correct large bright blue callipers are clearly visible through the spokes and hint towards the impressive stopping power, traction and safety with advanced features such as ABS, EBD, ESP and ventilated discs front and rear. Brand new discs and pads all round fitted in June 2020 offer complete confidence to exploit the power on offer.

The name R32 originates from ‘R’ for Race and ‘32’ in recognition of the 3.2 litre engine. Registered new on the 23rd May 2003 by Volkswagen Main Dealer, Corkills of Wigan, the car was purchased new by Robert Sharrock, who owned the vehicle for the next ten years. A sales invoice in the history file confirms the purchase price paid by Mr Sharrock of £24,420. Throughout his ownership Mr Sharrock had the car religiously serviced at Volkswagen Main Dealer, Gilbert Lawton of Macclesfield, with nine entries in the service book stamped by them. In 2013 the car was sold to the second and only other keeper, Thomas Threadgold, who has enjoyed the car for the last seven years as an occasionally fun car with minimal usage. A further three entries in the service booklet from independent specialists includes the most recent service carried out in June 2020 at which time the brake discs and pads all round were replaced.

A further huge and neatly filed folder contains corresponding Volkswagen service invoices and check sheets as well as MOT certificates dating back to the first in 2006. In 2009 the first owner Mr Sharrock treated himself to a Milltek rear silencer and coilovers all documented with invoices. The handbooks, manuals and guides and are included in the special leather R32 document wallet. Completing the history file are two remote keys with code tags and a R32 fob as well as an original Golf R32 sales brochure.
