EXTERIOR
The distinctive lines of the W124 Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet are instantly recognisable and this E220 Cabriolet is a fantastic testament to this design cult classic. Finished in desirable and optional Black Pearl (Blue-Black Code 199), the car gleams and is free from the usual rust issues synonymous with most examples, thanks to pampered low ownership and strict garage storage. The original fully insulated electro-hydraulic roof is seamless in operation with a few markings and all glass and lenses are factory fitment. The drivers rear light lens has a tiny fracture, barely noticeable and all other trim remains in excellent condition. The wheel arch apertures are spotlessly clean and a stainless exhaust is fitted for longevity. Without doubt, a prime example and suitable for the Mercedes connoisseur.

INTERIOR
Luxury and opulence in abundance, a cabin space that was, and in many ways still is, ahead of its time. Features such as electrically adjustable head restraint height to compliment the electric front seats as well as the automatic seat belt feeders hint towards the ‘over engineering’ of the Mercedes-Benz W124. The contoured seats trimmed in immaculate Mushroom Leather, (Code 265), are ergonomically designed for optimum comfort with lateral support and seat-suspension designed to harmonise with the vehicles actual suspension. The fine wood veneer has a deep rich finish and the needles to the dials are bright orange thanks to indoor storage. The wind deflector and first aid kit are both present in the clean boot area and a modern Sony head unit with a black crystal front to harmonise with the interior is fitted. Outstanding Mercedes Benz craftsmanship.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the Mercedes four cylinder 16v unit of 2199cc displacement, the engine produces 150bhp at 5500rpm and 210Nm of torque at 4000rpm. A top speed of 128mph and 0-62 in 12.0 seconds is achieved effortlessly in this exceptionally well maintained example. For those enjoying the show scene, the engine bay is pristine with all correct manufacturer labels, tags and stickers still attached. The four speed automatic transmission operates exactly as the manufacturer intended with smooth changes and positive kick down. Sheer motoring indulgence.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The classic eight-hole Mercedes alloy wheels are immaculate and shod in premium matching Michelin Energy 195/65 R15 tyres with ample even tread. The boot area houses the spare wheel alongside the original toolkit roll, jack, and warning triangle. Dual-circuit servo braking system with vacuum booster and anti-lock assistance (ABS) offers excellent straight line stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
A beautifully presented history file awaits a new owner. Supplied new on 17th August 1994 to a Mr Wogman with the elite number plate ‘SW9’ it remained part of his prestigious fleet until being sold to Mr Sofroniou in May 1998 with just 798 miles. With one subsequent owner since, the history file contains virtually all MOT certificates, SORN notices and a comprehensive file of invoices from Mercedes-Benz Main Dealers and Specialists. The last service was carried out by Mercedes-Benz of Gatwick at 15,359 miles. A Used Vehicle invoice in the history file records a sale in 2015 for £24,200 with few miles covered since. Representing one of the lowest mileage best remaining iconic W124 series Cabriolets left, this car is deserving of an avid enthusiast.
